Poor value
Beatrice was kind and helpful but we paid nearly £4000 for a two night stay because of the rugby. It would normally be £300!! One toilet and one shower room. No locks. The entrance corridor was very worn and smelly. For £300 it would be OK but £4000 NO. Beatrice offered us a week free of our choice. Thankyou but no thankyou

Really an experience!
The location is perfect in the Panier-but be aware- as others have noted you do have to walk up some steps. If you have heavy luggage or have mobility issues it may not be your place. But if you can handle your luggage it’s really a wonderful place to stay. The garden is comfortable and quiet. However the biggest reason to stay here is the incredible owner who gives you recommendations and goes above the call of duty making reservations for you so you will have a locals visit not a tourist visit.

Exceptional
Great communication. Warmest welcome & orientation. The historical uniqueness of the property with the proud owner, Beatrice present and generous. The charm & details in our room and garden made us reluctant to leave the property! Our room was well appointed and SPOTLESS! The bell tower is one of the landmarks in Le Panier so you will always find your way home. We dont want to give away all the surprises... there's more! We are so happy we booked with Beatrice! Thank you for the wonderful stay!
The phone number on the door was a local # and we couldn't remember how to call internationally on our Canadian phones 😆 00 33 and omit the 1st 0 of the posted # Unless you have internet and can message her. Thankfully another guest came by and escorted us further to the main entrance. (The 1st door is where Beatrice prefers to greet guests we assume because it introduces you to the amazing history of the property)

A totally authentic French experience
This was incredibly central and so very French, Totally authentic with the bell tower, multi coloured ceramic floor and quaint garden. Beatrice the host was outstanding, could not have been more helpful.
We had a car, so parked 10 minutes away, if you have alot of luggage (yes I shop a lot 🙄) then you need an ox of a partner to drag your cases up the stairs, so not for the faint hearted. Marseille is hilly so to be fair most of the old town will have stairs.

A welcoming respite
Beatrice is a wonderful host, friendly, helpful, and really goes out of her way to help her guests in any way she can. She really goes above and beyond in every way possible. She gives you helpful advice on where to go, provides coffee, tea, wine and other drinks. You might even get invited to yoga classes that sometimes take place in the garden. The room is wonderfully decorated, kinda like a (really fancy) cave. There is plenty of space to spread out, and a good shower. The bed is comfortable, and there is air conditioning. The garden is a wonderful refuge from the busy city. I really enjoyed coming home at night and spent wonderful time hanging out in the garden in the evening. There is comfy and whimsical furniture that make you think you entered an enchanted dell. A bit of an Alice in Wonderland mood to it.
The wifi was rather slow. Other than that, everything was amazing!

Truly unique
This place is truly unique in its location and design. Situated in the very heart of trendy Panier district, it has a shady garden inside, with flowers, apricot trees, and several tables and chairs, as well as outdoor lights, so that one can enjoy it at any time of the day. The apartments are located in the former convent‘s grounds, built on top of the hill. If you are lucky, like us, you will get a room with the door leading to the garden AND a French window offering a view of Marseille from the height of the 5th floor! Being so high comes with its price - the taxi can’t bring you to the front door, but instead it will leave you at the Rue Caisserie. From there you (and your luggage) should manage a set of stairs which lead to the street where the house is located. So get ready for some challenge, but be sure it’s worth it ;) The interior of the room is quirky in its own way, creating a harmonious ensemble with the tranquil garden, old convent with its eleventh century bell tower and the whole artistic Panier district. The room was equipped with coffee and tea makers, cutlery and even a microwave, so one can have a meal in the room or, better outside in the beautiful garden. The hosts were immensely hospitable and made everything possible for us to feel at home. Needless to say, the Panier district is perfectly located to explore the city.
