Wonderful place to stay, wonderful host. I would stay again and highly recommend L'Orangerie over any hotel.

Well, wow. This truly is a spectacular find. Behind a typical Versailles facade on the main road towards the palace, there is a long garden at the end of which stands a former orangerie. Bought as a near-ruin, this was completely renovated and made into two self-catering apartments. Looking at it from the garden, it's absolutely stunning. Its looks are the main feature, but there's much more to love. Because of copious trees and shrubbery, you are not overlooked and have privacy. You need to go through a gate and courtyard, so you are as safe as can be. This also means I'd gladly stay here on my own and feel free and safe. The beauty can be best experienced sitting outside eating a pastry, but the inside is great too. Even with all doors and windows closed, the outside is still there because of the beautiful big windows. The inside is brightly decorated in a feminine, romantic style and filled with art (much of it made by the owner herself). Even if this is not your usual taste, it's right because it suits the location. The cleanliness is impressive, especially in a space with so many nooks and crannies, accessories, etc. The very personal approach of the owner is not something we're used to but it can greatly enhance your experience if you let it. Wifi is great and uninterrupted. If you like travelling but miss your cat(s), Cleopatre, a cat rescued by the owner, will do her best to compensate that. The location is near restaurants, supermarkets, the train station and of course the palace (a few minutes by car, but please, leave the car and go by bike). Like Versailles itself, it has grandeur but also makes you feel you're in the countryside. A wonderful combination. Booking limits the number of characters for a review. If you want to know more and would like some practical tips for a stay here, have a look at my review on Tripadvisor.
I generally prefer a separate shower, not one over the bath tub, and a shower head mounted on the wall. Being disabled, unsteady on my feet and slightly overweight, it was a squeeze. My method was to sit in the bath and have my husband hold the hand-held shower head. That said: I knew this beforehand, it wasn't a surprise because the photos clearly show this, and it was very doable. Plus, a bigger bathroom would have meant a smaller apartment. So this is not a criticism, just a heads up. If you're disabled, very tall or very wide, just keep this in mind and be creative.

Very good location between the Chateau of Versailles and the train station. Pavillon hidden behind a higher building. So the only "noise" in the morning is the singing of the birds.
The apartement has two levels with the open bedroom upstairs. The room is impeccable (I wish I could hire the cleaner for my apartement). Heating works well. The garden is a dream in the romantic/british tradition and not the french geometric/symmetric style. If all hosts were like the owner Patricia, no hospitality company would ever hear any complaints. She does ist because she loves it und you can feel it every moment in the smallest details. The only place I will go when I am in the region.
I had to leave.

Warm welcome by Mrs. White! - Freshly baked cake at arrival, great restaurant and must-see recommendations. Very concerned about their guests. Location in walking distance to Palace, train station to Paris Downtown and restaurants/marktes.

The charm of the house and the setting, and the lovely energetic hostess. A romantic place worthy of Marie Antoinette. Personal hints and advice on biking and parking helped make our stay unforgettable.
It could be helpful to have a small table inside for eating breakfast when the weather is poor.

I am extremely happy to have met Patricia and shared her wonderful home.
Patricia is one of the most incredible human beings I’ve ever met, she is an extremely beautiful, cultured and compassionate lady. She is very much aware of what’s going on in the world, so wherever you’re from, you’ll enjoy a great conversation with her. She is also very artistically talented and has great passion for life, which is well reflected in the beauty of her home.
I had high expectations for my stay from the reviews and photos, but everything was way beyond expectation. Stay with Patricia if you can, you will certainly be positively surprised:)
