Locatie, diner, ruime kamer, privacy
Likje verf op de deuren en sommigen gesleten plekken zou al schelen voor het oog

Beautiful property in the woods. Great food.
There was no aircon, not that it was really needed.

The location is really great, in the midst of the forest. The rooms, public spaces and garden are tastefully decorated. Very friendly personnel. Quality of food and drinks is good.
The shower was a bit small. There is only a la carte in the restaurant, you have to take at least three courses. We came hiking (the hotel is along the Pieterpad and the Marskramerpad) and it was a Monday, so not many other options around for a simple dinner.

The location was pleasant (surrounded by nature) and convenient: walking distance from both the village (Holten) and the southern entrance of the national park. The house has the same charming look & feel as in the photos - in particularly the restaurant area- and the staff was always friendly and helpful.
The infrastructure of the house is made out of wood, so it's very audible whenever someone is walking down the corridor or the stairs. Since the restaurant is situated next to the rooms (we were in the first rooms) and there is no insulation, it can get very noisy (handling glassware, cutlery, general chatting and laughing) until relatively late (11 pm). So, unless you're a heavy sleeper, you should ask for a room as far as possible from this area.

Lovely location, friendly service. We especially enjoyed having all meals outside on the terrace.

I booked this hotel rather randomly, as I was looking for somewhere not far from the motorway while travelling back home. I felt like I hit the jackpot. Staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Dog bowls and a delicious snack were waiting for my dog in my room. Although dogs are not allowed in the restaurant, I was offered a table at the edge, so I could have my dog with me and still sit in the main restaurant rather than in an isolated corner. Dinner was good and based on that, I decided to have breakfast in the hotel as well, which was also very good. The location of the hotel is great for exploring the Holterberg (the hotel even offers descriptions of walks), so we had a nice walk before getting the car. I was very tempted to stay an extra night, but instead promised myself I can come back on my next trip.

The location is fantastic. You are in the trees surrounded by birdsong. Access to the Sallandsehuvelrug is really easy, whether hiking, biking or driving. Wonderful. I'd really recommend cycling along the Regge river...wonderful views.
Eating outside on the terrace is lovely.

Friendly staff, great breakfast, delicious dinner, beautiful surroundings. It really felt like a VIP stay with our dinner being served at our door and a beautiful set table in our room. Would definitely recommend this place. Very romantic!
Rooms were somewhat outdated, and room wasn’t cleaned very well. Some electricity outlets didn’t work and bathroom lights were flickering. When noticing the front desk, we were just told they were aware of the issues - not that they would fix it. Issues were minor compared to the really friendly service. Walls are thin though; bring earplugs if you’d like to have a lie-in.
