Reception, room and breakfast were very good. There was a pool which unfortunately I didn’t have time to try out.
Nothing. The door for my room (Number 2) had a key for only one lock with the external door unlocked overnight, so arguably security could be slightly better.
4.3
Breakfast was good, staff worked hard to serve everyone, checkout was quick
The bedroom was very small and the double bed filled the room leaving no space to put our two suitcases, one cabin case and one medium case, a single bed would be better suited to the room size, the sheets were bobbly, the small TV had a gang plug extension wound round the curtain pole, no bed side tables or side lamps, we only stayed one night but given the lack of space a week would be impossible
4.3
Location was good, bed comfortable.
The swimming pool was shabby and didn't seem too clean. This was disappointing as it was a major reason for choosing this property.

Location - really couldnt have any been better, seconds from the town centre, no need for car. Pool - facilities looked a bit tired but didnt try out. Breakfast very good, lots of choice and well cooked. Parking on site (narrow entrance looks daunting but actually wasnt.)
Building a bit tired looking in places, worn carpet, dusty, housekeeping missed us out - had to ask for new towels and make our own bed. Shower unreliable (prob due to low water pressure), kettle cable too short- had to boil on floor as not long enough to reach to table top - bit dangerous. TV very small, poor sound, no BBC1 channel at all. No orientation guide in room (ie local eateries, places to visit, local information, house rules etc). Bed sheets didnt fit bed and came off too easily.

Hosts & staff were great 👍

Couldn't be happier with our stay. Hay on Wye is an amazing beautiful village and Seven Stars was just as amazing. The staff were friendly and did everything to make our stay memorable. And the breakfast was delicious! Will definitely be staying again.
The only thing was that I forgot all about the swimming pool facilities and hadn't packed anything! As for our stay everything was perfect!

Great host, Di, very down to earth and fun character. Stayed in room 1 which was great for the dog. Free parking complete bonus, pool altho didn’t use this time.
Had to bang door shut to bedroom and shower was a little poor possibly low pressure?

We had a lovely stay at the Seven Stars. Great location in a beautiful town. Di was super helpful and her local knowledge was really helpful. The breakfast was fantastic and had vegetarian and vegan options which was great. The room was confortable and the whole place had a welcoming feel. Wish we could have stayed longer.

breakfast was delicious

Room was very cosy and warm and Di and her staff are very welcoming. Excellent central location with private parking.
My husband is not a dog-lover, so the large Old English sheepdog was not popular around the breakfast tables.
4.3
Central location, comfy rooms, very tasty breakfast and the owner, Di, was really friendly and helpful - would stay there again!

Staff great. Breakfast very good
We found the bed very uncomfortable. There were only thin curtains at the windows so the room was illuminated by the street lights throughout the night. Glad we had only booked for one night.

Great base for hiking and accommodation is right in the centre of town.
There is a pool but what I didn’t know before I booked is that it is also open to public. It was busy morning and evening (the time guests would normally use the facilities) so I sadly didn’t end up using the pool despite this being the reason I booked this accommodation.

Breakfast was excellent, beautifully presented and cooked.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Room very clean.
Owner keen to help and please guests.

Location is fantastic, and although the opening to the car park is tricky to spot, there was ample car parking space. You are literally backed onto the river in the centre of town.
Breakfast was cooked to order and was excellent.
The room was a bit chilly, and having turned the radiator up to maximum, it did not really have the desired effect. So it was tucked under the duvet to watch a bit of evening television.

to our every need

The staff were friendly, the room was comfortable and the breakfast was fantastic!
Nothing to do with the accommodation but everything in the village closes early! We found it very hard to get a meal when we arrived at 8pm and it's a long drive to anywhere else so be prepared.

Charming hotel, plenty of character. Great location. Lovely swimming pool, which was a bonus
Only problem, close to town clock, which chimes late. Not sure if it goes through the night, but woke us at 5am

The room was clean and comfortable, the location great and breakfast excellent with a very friendly staff
It would have been good to have a light at the entrance for when returning at night.

The location
Photoshopped picture give the wrong impression. No bar, no restaurant.

Breakfast excellent - delicious spiced dried fruit compote and locally smoked fish with scrambled or poached eggs - and room was lovely and quiet and not overlooked - facing river so no noise at night with an open window - so peaceful - and pool was brilliant!
Room good for the price - not big but quiet and everything we needed, bed comfortable and room bright and clean

Perfect location the pool was amazing for my 8 week old son
Really enjoyed it 🙂
Bed was far too soft for us
But that is personal preference it was like sleeping on a big marshmallow
Some people love that though so not a critisim just gave me a bad back
I found the breakfast room incredibly cold
But other than that very friendly staff and lovely place definitely revisit if ever in hay again
4.3
location in town and price
the room we had was in the car park with door into swimming pool. there was a lot of noise until 9.00pm from pool. the room was advertised with free Wi-Fi but this was not available in the room. the lights outside the room did not light up initially and it was difficult to negotiate the car park
4.3
nice staff. good breakfast
could have been a bit more modernised
