Excellent location, in the heart of the working area of the Santander conurbation, right next to the shipyards and dockyards, to a big park full of children and within walking distance to the most 'authentic' restaurants and bars I've seen in Cantabria. By authentic I mean for locals, with local rates and flair. Here you get a 'real life' feeling, away from the polished tourist areas. Amazing value for money. Great if you are ready to look beyond the facade. Ridiculously friendly staff, they go the extra mile and make you feel at home.

If you're not driving, train is the best way to get there to and from santander and it's a short 5 min walk to the hotel (uphill). Train station is Astillero, costs less than 2€ each way and the last train is at 21:45 in the week. A taxi costs aprox 10€. I googled this a million times and it took gettin there to learn it - don't bother with buses. The hotel itself doesn't look like much outside but as soon as you're in, it's great. The reception was always being cleaned, the staff were incredibly nice and polite and spoke english. The room looks like a "home" room that is clean and tidy. The bathroom was new and really nice. Very light and airy rooms, quite big as well. The lady at reception said we could have breakfast there even though it wasn't included and didn't charge us for it. Breakfast has bacon and eggs on a buffet, lots of different breads, coffee, tea, ham and cheese - basic but basic well done, which was really nice. There's a gentleman in the breakfast room who is just a sweetheart. Free wifi as well which was nice. Overall very happy and will return later this summer.
I have no complaints at all but I think it's worth noting that there is no safe in the bedroom. Also every channel on the TV is in spanish, even english programmes are dubbed which is not the hotels fault just a note.

The hotel surprised in a positive way. Warming welcome, they added breakfast although not included during reservation; room was nice, new and clean. Beds really comfortable. Perfect location, if you have a morning flight as it is only 7 minutes away from the airport.
There are also places to eat nearby.
Everything was ok.

The hotel is fairly close to the airport, so we got a taxi directly there for around €10-15 (possibly cheaper at other times of the day). We were met at the door by a friendly man who checked us in and gave us some recommendations of where we could eat once we'd put our bags in our room.
Our win room was very spacious, but basic - two beds, a desk with a lamp, and bedside tables either side of the room. There's also an en-suite with a shower, toilet and sink. The room was clean, quiet, and had a great view over astillero, a church, and the docks.
Buffet/continental breakfast with plenty of options available & included in the price (we thought we would have to pay extra!).
We checked out (until 12-12:30), paid, and then walked 5 mins to Astillero train station to catch the train to Santander Central.

Front was really kind and nice. He was willing to help us and made us very comfortable. If we have a chance, then we will be back.
Everything was perfect.
