the place is huge and homey. The staff, especially Eri, was very accommodating and helped us all the way. I highly recommend this chalet as it is close to the ski lifts. We plan to return again soon

Great Staff, Accommodation and Amenities. Matt and his staff were great hosts. Will defs come by again when in Hakuba
Location for one of the Chalets was a bit out of the way, but still accessible.
4.5
Spacious house with all the facilities one would want for a family skitrip, location is excellent with short walk to Happo slopes and restaurants yet still being in a quiet spot
Nothing in particular, the chalet is getting older but is kept very clean
4.5
proximity to ski resort and all eating places are good.
Design of the house with laundry room, setup of the toilets and rooms and all heating units are good
parking area should make it easier to drive after snow. I believe mechanism can be put in place to clean the snow so that we can park on the front instead of having to park in another parking lot because of snow accumulation in front of the house and thom rough out the path making it unable to drive easily.
Best to put a large mirror by the entrance.
Can do better in replenishing items in kitchen such as coffee, garbage bags, some basic seasoning, ice making rack, wiping towels.
Kitchen oven best to provide English instructions on how to operate.
Best to have clothes hanging area on G/F shoes room etc.

Everything about it is great. It is spacious and has all the facilities you could need. Just far enough away to give you breathing room but not too far to be inconvenient.

Here are the pros of staying here in the cabin:
- There was a cool projector on the wall with access to streaming services so you can watch TV
- The cabin had a really nice feel to it, very cabin-y in the woods and pretty with the snow
- The owner/point of contact provided rides to the lifts every day once we called them, and it was easy to take the bus back as there is a drop-off point at the hotel (Oak Hotel) down the street
- The beds were incredibly comfy and nice to sleep in
- Immediately upon arrival, we were picked up by a ski/board rental agency who drove us to their shop and fitted us right away with rentals for the week
- The heaters are super strong and work really well (almost too well) so don't have to worry about being cold
- There were restaurants nearby in Echoland, which was a 25-30 minute walk, and the staffs there spoke really good English
- The hosts were friendly, giving us rides to the lifts and letting us check out late
Here are the cons of this place:
- Ski up access was advertised on the website, but the lifts are definitely only accessible by car or shuttle bus
- Again not close to any of the lifts (one lift seems really close, but it's across a river and you have to drive around it)
- The cabin is really far from any grocery stores or conbinis (convenience store)
- Cab is really far away from onsens, so if you plan to do one recommend doing it near the slopes
- Maid service was arranged halfway through the week, but they showed up without prior notification and we were caught off guard
- Mountain view was also advertised, and there is really no mountain view as it is completely obstructed by trees (even in the winter)
- There were several ants throughout the cabin, especially in the kitchen (which happens, but please buy traps)
- The bathroom had no light other than a motion light, so if you shower at night you have to keep moving around
- There was no coffee or tea offered as advertised
- Taxis going here from the train station had trouble finding the place and we had to drive around a bit
- The night shuttle going to and through town only runs on weekends
- Everything in town is closed on Wednesdays, so keep that in mind if you need food
- The window upstairs looks directly in to the sleeping area and woke us up every morning super early

The beds were comfortable, the kitchen, bath, and toilet were modern and very clean. The TV and music speaker systems were great. WiFi was fast and easy to access.
Only one minor thing: the couch in the living room area was small for tall people.
4.5
It was a very quiet area and close to the ski mountains.

The chalet was what i expected and the staff speaks English and very helpful.
The provided slippers are are not brand new, they were already used, new slippers should be provided every time new guests are accommodated. The foam/cushions of the dining chairs are already worn out including the sofa in the living room. English instruction manuals should be provided on all electric appliances and devices.
