It looked a lot nicer at night with candles on
Smelt fusty and everything seemed old. Took our own bedding luckily. Lots of instructions saying don't do this don't do that's as this will trip out this and will trip out that. Haven't seen a dvd player that old. We don't think the pictures give a true impression of the lodge. The trees also need trimming back to improve the view. Tried to light the fire but the smoke was starting to come out of the fire so shut it off.

Fantastic location, a very peaceful area. Nice and clean lodge, cosy interior, comfy beds.

Brilliant place to stay but quite far away from the main walks in the lakes.
The lodge it self was very cute and cozy, had good facilities and and the kitchen was we'll stocked. The bed was very comfortable.
There were a couple if things that could have been better, there was no soap to wash your hands in the bathroom, only 1 toilet roll was provider for 2 adults for a 4 night stay, and there were no evident recycling opportunities so we had to throw everything in the black bin.
The fire place was great but the was not enough kindling and smaller wood available to light it for the 4 nights.

good value for money overall; nice cabin within easy drive from main Lake District locations
just overall no attention to detail - this is the 1st time I’ve stayed in lodge/ apartment where there was no blanket, no tea/ coffee, salt or even hand soap & only 1 toilet roll provided (I’ve checked for more). also there are “do not” notices all over the cabin - rules are important, but there are much better ways of communicating the it I.e. accessible folder, 1 pager etc.
it’s all small things but I didn’t exactly feel welcomed there.

Great quiet location as long you are willing to travel here and there. We had daily trips to lake district various locations. We had a dog jack russell with us. Long walks available behind the lodge. Very pleasant place.

The location of the property was quite remote. This made our trip a relaxing holiday which was what we were after. The lodge was idea for two but would be a little cramped for four. Kitchen was well provided. Farm area was nice for our dog to mooch around and sniff.
The gutter on the lodge was detached on both sides and since we had a lot of rain that week, this created lots of noise during the evenings and overnight which was not good. While the inside of the lodge was well looked after, I felt the outside was less so. Lots of cobwebs around the outside porch in the eves.
The location was remote which we liked for the quietness and open skies when the clouds did eventually part. Unfortunately we found it very difficult to find a nice looking pub anywhere within 10 miles for lunch or evening meals for when we could not be bothered to cook.
The post code given was not found in either my cars sat nav or google maps and the sign identifying the property was very small which made locating the property very difficult. Please put a bigger sign up that can be read from the main road.
