About this apartment rental
Atmospheric, luxury guesthouse (approx. 50 m2) in a Zaans wooden national monument. The guesthouse is located in a wing of our U-shaped house on the ground floor at the beautiful, private courtyard garden. The apartment is suitable for two people.
Layout: private entrance through garden, hall with wardrobe and separate storage room with washer / dryer and ironing facilities.
Through the hall you enter the fully equipped kitchen with dining table, electric four-burner hob, fridge with freezer, combi microwave, Wedgewood crockery, cookware and kitchen utensils, kitchen towels, coffee maker, kettle, coffee and tea supplies.
The kitchen is adjacent to the L-shaped living room with two luxury Pullman box springs, which are placed against each other as standard, but can also be separated if desired.
The apartment also has a sitting area with two comfortable armchairs and table, a desk, WiFi with fast broadband connection, charging options, including USB chargers, for your electronics, TV niche with extendable and tilting 40 inch flat screen TV with chromecast (internet on TV) , central heating supplemented with heat-giving fireplace, CD and DVD player, clock radio, Philips wake-up light, CDs and DVDs, books and tourist information.
The romantic bathroom with dome-shaped starry sky has a toilet, sink, luxury two-person spa tub, rain shower, underfloor heating and designer towel radiator. Next to the bathroom is the spacious Finnish private sauna with light therapy.

We loved our stay here. The guesthouse was very clean and shows exactly as the pictures online. Fred and Kelli are great hosts—lots of communication but also don’t bother you. 8 min from the train, number of restaurants within 5-10 walk (try Kathmandu) as well as two grocery stores.
We enjoyed our week, travelling into Amsterdam (20 min by train) as well as other nearby towns. Very convenient.
We will definitely stay here again on our future trips to Amsterdam

a charming well appointed apartment. Hosts provide excellent instructions as well as plenty of tourist info in several languages. There are great grocery stores and windmills within a short walk, and both a superb Nepalese restaurant and outstanding chocolate shop within steps. Transportation was easy and we enjoyed our stay.

The property is just lovely, Kelly and Fred Snel are very friendly and their guesthouse was warm and welcoming and full of little gifts. We enjoyed our stay very much. The sauna and the jacuzzi were great to have in the evenings after strolling around Amsterdam. It was a great time and we regret that we couldn’t stay longer.

Only there 3 nights but everything was as described, very convenient. Neighbourhood is mixed industrial and residential so a bit smelly.

Our stay here was wonderful. The house is beautiful and clean with a cute little garden. Plenty of good dining options nearby, a well stocked grocery store, a short walk to the train station and just over 15 minutes to Central Station, Amsterdam. We also took the train into Haarlem (approx. 30 min with a transfer) and enjoyed a great day exploring and shopping.
Fred & Kelly are lovely people and very helpful with anything you may need. We would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful trip to Amsterdam and areas. We had a car for 4 days of 10. Parking was not a problem. We parked a very short block away each day. This cottage is cozy and very charming. We cooked breakfast daily and ate in for dinner often. All was easy. Our hosts were very attentive and caring. The cottage is a 10 minute walk to the train station and about 15 minute walk to Zaan Schans. I do not hesitate in recommending this cottage to future travelers. Thank you to Fred and Kelly. Patricia

A warm, charming home - beautifully appointed & with wonderful amenities! It’s an easy walk to windmills & the train. Amsterdam Centraal Station is just a 15-minute ride, & Schiphol Airport just 15 minutes beyond. Our hosts welcomed us with chocolates & champagne & waved us a fond farewell at the gate ❤️🇳🇱❤️

Origineel Zaans huis met veel extra’s. Heel attente gastheer en gastvrouw die er van houden hun gasten te verwennen ondanks Corona. Alles is helemaal in stijl. Complimenten!

Fijne midweek gehad in dit mooie Zaanse huisje. Goed verzorgd en alles is aanwezig.
Heel jammer dat er zoveel muggen zaten. Op loopafstand van de Zaanse schans.

Schöne entspannte Tage!
Wir sind sehr freundlich empfangen worden und im Haus stand frischer Kaffe und Schokolade zur Begrüßung. Auch eine vielfältige Auswahl an frischem Obst und eine kleine Flasche Sekt standen bereit.
Wir fühlten uns, trotz extremer Hitze, sehr wohl. Wir bekamen alle zwei Tage frische Hand-,Bade-, und Geschirrtücher.
Alles notwendige,inklusive Toilettenpapier, Kaffeepulver Zucker, Gewürze, Spül- und Putzmittel waren vorhanden.
Das Ehepaar Snel war sehr freundlich und Hilfsbereit.
Alles in allem hatten wir eine schöne und erholsame Zeit.

Great place for a quite stay
We had a really nice time staying here. We thoroughly enjoyed the jet tub and sauna. The kitchen is well equipped and Kelly was very helpful.

Freundlich wurden wir mit Kaffee und Keksen empfangen. In einem kurzen Gespräch, hat man uns einige Reiseziele in der Umgebung näher gebracht. In der Wohnung war alles vorhanden, was man zum entspannen und wohlfühlen benötigt.

IL FASCINO DI UNA CASA STORICA
L'alloggio e' all'interno di un' ala di una casa storica in legno di grande pregio. Siamo stati avvolti fin da subito dall'atmosfera magica della casa e del luogo, un piccolo borgo tranquillo e comodissimo per visitare l'Olanda settentrionale ed e' circa 1km dagli imperdibili mulini degli Zaanse Schans. Fred e Kelly vi riceveranno con tutte le informazioni pratiche e precauzioni da adottare nella casa e con tutte le info delle zone da visitare con un ricca dispensa di mappe e brochures. La casa e' calda e accogliente ed e' dotata di una magnifica vasca idromassaggio per 2 persone e una sauna. La cucina e' completa di ogni accessorio Il giardino interno nella stagione fredda puo' essere molto comodo per chi fuma. L'unico appunto e' sulla connessione wi-fi che ha segnale molto debole.

Amazing Location!
Experience was fantastic and the property had everything we wanted. It was close to public transportation, near great restaurants, and quiet enough that it wasn't right in the city (but the city was very easy to get to)! The owners went above and beyond to make the experience amazing! 5 stars!

We adored our time here! They are so accommodating, and had everything on hand needed. Good dining options were nearby, as well as groceries. Had such a great time walking through the area, especially the open air museum and it's an easy 15 minute train ride into Amsterdam (5-10 min walk to the station from the guest house).

Nice Place, Warm Welcome
Nice place to stay, especially if you just want a quiet break from it all. The owners communicate very well and gave a warm welcome when we arrived. They also gave lots of info regarding the local area & Amsterdam. The accommodations are very nice and all the amenities are as listed. It is in a bit of an industrial area but still fairly close to grocery store and train station. Within walking distance to a number of working windmills which was a nice treat.

A Great Place in an excellent location
We had the pleasure to stay at Fred and Kelley's B &B for 5 nights and we could have not been happier. It is located nw of Amsterdam with only a short train ride away from the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam. Their place was more than we could have asked more. Spacious, clean, private and even includes a indoor jacuzzi bathroom with a heated floor and a sauna. Classic european luxury. Fred and Kelly are the nicest hosts that you would ever meet and provided us with everything that we would ever need to make our stay a comfortable one. This area is just blocks away from the old Holland windmill area and what a nice time we had enjoying it all. We rented bikes for a couple of days and really enjoyed cruising through the beautiful farmland areas right next to this small town. This is just a perfect place to unwind and relax and enjoy this beautiful town and country. The transportation system here is unbelievable and you can get anywhere you want in the area in a short time. We had been traveling in Europe for two months prior to our stay here and by far this b & b is the best place that we stayed and will leave a lasting memory for us.

This is one of the prettiest , most charming rooms I have ever stayed in. Kelly was very welcoming. She gave us a lot of useful information about the area. She served us coffer and chocolates on arrival. It was a cold day so this was very welcome. They even had a small lit Christmas tree in the room. The bed is comfortable. The bath is very nice. The jacuzzi is quite large. It is a nicely appointed room.The ceiling in the bathroom is adorable. Did I mention it's charming. My only regret is we only had 2 nights here. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Comfortable, great location, private, good facilities, great hosts.
Fred and Kelly's accommodation is away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but is in an excellent location as it is close to public transport, is in easy walking distance of the open air museum, and by car it is easy to travel to interesting locations along the coast. Fred and Kelly are very attentive with tourist information, provision daily of fresh towels if requested, emptying of refuse bins, but importantly provide all of the privacy you require. To have a spa bath and a sauna within the accommodation is a real treat and luxury.
The items in the apartment/flat are of good quality and there was nothing we required that was not available.
Car parking is on-street and there was always a space within a few minute's walk.
The flat looks out onto the private and secure garden which is available for use by guests.
We are an older couple and at the conclusion of 3 months touring Europe this was the ideal place to end our travels.

Lovely Apartment
We loved our stay at Zaanse Koopmanshuis. Kelly and Fred couldn’t have been more helpful and welcoming. They met us with chocolates and coffee, even providing these for our family, who arrived with us. The apartment is roomy, with a Spa Bath and Sauna and the little courtyard garden was beautiful. The apartment was close to Amsterdam, to our family in Alkmaar and to the Zaanse Schans. The train station was a short walk away, a supermarket was within walking distance and restaurants were close by. We were planning to use the provided bikes, but the immediate area was not what we had imagined it to be. We thought it was more out in the countryside. The only thing that let the property down, in our opinion, was the semi industrial surrounds. We would give this property 4 1/2 stars if this was possible.

One of the best we ever had.
Staying at this historic lovely flat enriched our experience with Netherlands culture & living. The area is beautiful and just several mins away from heritage windmills. Our hosts are friendly & took care of all our needs. Kitchen is well stocked. We were welcomed with fruits & chocolates. Received lots of touring info. The sauna and jacuzzi definitely helped in relaxing our tired bodies after a long day.
Really no complaints at all. Would come back and stay there again.

Wonderful Retreat
We had the good luck to have chosen Fred and Kelly's place to end a three week vacation with a short stay in Amsterdam. The guest house, located in an historic house built in 1694, is decorated with exquisite taste and equipped with much thought given to what any traveler may need. For us, the location was perfect; it is within walking distance to the outdoor Dutch museum, in a quiet village with great restaurants and coffee shops nearby. A major supermarket can be found a short walk away if you want to eat in. While a bit out of the center, the public transportation system offers easy access to town or the opportunity to travel by train to some of the outlying areas of Holland. We loved sipping our glass of wine in the beautiful private garden with fountain just outside our flat. Our hosts offered friendly personal service without intrusion. And when our taxi that we had pre-arranged to take us to the airport did not show, we were grateful for that level of care. Fred quickly assessed the situation and called a local company who only took 10 minutes to get there and safely got us to the airport on time, avoiding what could have been a travel disaster. Throughout the whole process, Kelly was responsive and very easy with which to communicate. It was a wonderful way to end a wonderful vacation. We have only the highest recommendations for their guest house and would love the opportunity to visit again.

Absolutely Wonderful accommodation in an amazing setting
You will not be disappointed staying in this fantastic house, everything you need is supplied, the standard of the accommodation is really lovely and spotless clean, Kelly and Fred are really helpful and are on hand if you need them. The location is a real bonus in a beautiful area and easy transport links to visit further areas of this lovely country.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this luxury guest house and we will certainly be returning.

Totally Awesome
This guesthouse is gem among places to stay in de Zaanstreek and very affordable! Kelly and Fred are very helpful in getting you comfortable a their place. You won't be surrounded by tourist attractions, although de Zaanse Schans (wind mills) are within walking distance. We will definitely return here and I will give the sauna a chance as well. You gotta see it to believe it!

Our five day visit was a delight.
Many pleasant surprises -- fresh flowers, fruit, and chocolates, a cheery electric fireplace and sauna added to the comfort of this pleasant and completely furnished apartment. We enjoyed a white ibis and resident magpie in our private garden. Seven minutes to the train station for trips to Amsterdam, walking distance to the outdoor museum and the market. Welcoming host and hostess. Definitely a 5 star find for us.
