Beautiful Apulian country retreat

The charm of this property is its quiet isolation, and the friendly staff. Everything was as expected from the photos and reviews. After touring the region during the day, it was so nice to return here and relax by the pool. We had two dinners at the Masseria, both excellent, along with dinners in Martina Franca and Crispiano - no issues returning at night time. The breakfasts were delicious, and we enjoyed being able to eat them outside. In summary, would highly recommend.

Because we were there 5 days, a set of drawers to unpack clothes into, would have been ideal.

Beautiful country side with a pool & happy animals!

beautiful property with a pool area & some animals; Apuglian cows, wild horses, dogs, cats and goats. The animals seemed happy and well taken care of, and had large enclosures that incluses forrest area where they were basically free. Luca, the super, was taking care of them and we could really notice that the animals liked him. the pool area was beautiful & quiet with many sunbeds and space to relax. the resturant was great, great, inventative food (try the pistacchio dessert). the owner of the property was a French lady, but spoke Italian and english. she was very kind and easy to communicate with. She even allowed us to stay a few hours extra at the pool the day after, as we had a late check in to our new place & the day we areived was quite rainy. This was of course ok because they had space, I don’t think they will let anyone stay.

nothing, it was a great stay! Don’t forget to bring some delicious cat food for the little kitties- they are all stray cats that needed a home! So you can probably even adopt one :)

A perfect Italian idyll!

The masseria is beautiful, small and quiet located in a rural setting. The staff are attentive and friendly and the food is excellent. This was my second visit and I shall be returning.

The sofa bed in the apartment is not comfortable and could do with being updated.

Gorgeous accommodations.

This property was gorgeous in every aspect, from the service to the facilities. I would have loved to stay longer, but it was perfect for one night, especially after a long day of sightseeing and driving. Once our group settled in, we loved relaxing and enjoying some wine on the terrace before heading to their restaurant for dinner. I highly recommend the orecchiette with ragu, the chef's board, and the cheese with porchetta.

Absolutely nothing - stay here you won't regret it.

Superb

Beautifully styled rooms located in the Puglian countryside. The location is what you'd expect staying in this accommodation, remote and we consequently dined at the restaurant both nights not wanting to brave the narrow roads at night into the closest town Martina Franca. The food was good, and we'd recommend it. The breakfast was also very good with options including scrambled eggs, bacon and fresh assortments typically found in Italian breakfasts. The pool was beautiful, and on hotter days we would have been there all day!

Minor things that could be improved upon, but would still recommend the hotel. The pool chairs and furniture covered in bird poo could have been cleaned off so it was inviting to sit there. The rooms are advertised as air conditioned and heated, but there was no control to adjust to personal preference. The heating was always on and it would get a bit hot throughout the night, and we didn't want to have the door open for fear of bugs. Also no block out curtains, in the morning it's bright but until 10.30/11 at night there are spotlights that also light up your room due to this.

great location. staff very helpful. nice and clean accommodation.

Would have been nice to have an earlier breakfast time - 0830 is quite late if you want to explore all day! Maybe also some coffee sachets in the rooms?

Attractive Masseria, beautiful pool area, great for a quiet stay.

The breakfast was good, a mixture of sweet treats and savory served in a lovely old character filled room. Staff were accommodating and helpful. The pool area is super, with day beds and not crowded when we visited in September. Quiet and relaxing.

A car is definitely needed as the location is quite a way from surrounding towns. Restaurant on site, meals were ok.

A relaxing retreat with delightful staff, albeit possibly a little remote.

Lovely old farmhouse B&B. in a rural,location. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was ok, but unchanging (apart from the cake) although fresh supplies of scrambled egg, yoghurts, milk etc were always readily available. We ate in the restaurant one night and although the menu was limited, the food was delicious, so no complaints there.

The bedroom was sparsely furnished with no drawers for clothes, just a wooden box and a rail to hang things up on. There was a small table and 4 chairs to sit on plus 2 wicker-style chairs which were ridiculously low! It’s location is part of its charm - in the middle of nowhere about 12 minutes drive from Martina Franca - but also a negative. The road to it from Martina Franca is narrow and twisty and poorly surfaced; there’s nothing else around, so nowhere to walk to, which means a drive into Martina Franca to find somewhere to eat. And parking in Martina Franca is far from easy!

Fabulous place to stay - we won't forget it

We loved our stay at Masseria Iazzo Scagno. The pool area was amazing. Our room was large and extremely stylish. The outlook over fields was fabulous. All staff were welcoming and friendly. We will be telling all our friends to visit. It truly is an amazing place to stay and we loved every minute of our time at the masseria. We ate one evening at the accommodation and the food and price were both very good.

It was a little further out of town than we had expected and not that easy to find with google maps. Our beds were not as comfortable as they could be, however these were minor issues and overall the stay was amazing. There could be more variety at breakfast. We stayed 3 nights and breakfast was similar each morning.

I would not stay there again; neither would I recommend friends to go there

Breakfast on the first day was excellent; after that the cakes got stale. I liked dining with the huge fire blazing. colour scheme of the room

Only one small window in the bathroom; lack of fresh air in the room; bathroom door jammed; very difficult to open and close; chairs were to low; difficult to sit down and get up if you are a bit older; slippery floor in shower stall - very dangerous; limited menu in restaurant; only a short distance from Martina Franca, but along a very narrow country lane. Overpriced in off season

The property is lovely, the pool was nice, and the beds were VERY comfortable.

Poor communication between staff and guests. We were told we could have dinner at the hotel by one staff member, then arrived that night to be told there was no space. They did make a dinner for the group for us to eat in our rooms, but I am celiac, and there was very little I could eat, despite being told there was. The wi-fi was basically non-existent. And when I tried to get a car to take me to the airport, I was told they don't usually do that sort of thing, and they couldn't get anyone to take me. (Luckily, I was able to go with the other group, but I had to sit in the airport from 4am-11am and wait.)

Getaway to the Southern Italian countryside.

Love the location. This is rural Italy--about 15 minutes from Martina Franca. It's gorgeous. Love the oaks, the pool and the country style of this Masseria and the Trullis.

We didn't stay very long. This would be a great place for an extended retreat.

Superb

The rooms are spacious, modern and comfortable. Both breakfast and dinner were great. The swimming pool was excellent, shallow but large and ideal for swimming.

The swimming pool should close later, especially in summer. 7 pm seems to early for the weather in the area.
