Superb location for exploring Borobudur temple. Bonus audio visual tour at the resort to learn more about the temple. Staff were good and friendly, wi-fi was quite fast. Exceptional service by overall staff
Rooms could be a bit cleaner and some amenities (rubbish bin) could be replaced by newer and cleaner ones.

The location is superb for visiting Borobudur. Also, the stay included the price of tickets to go up to the Borobudur temple and not just the grounds, which was really nice as they arranged everything.
The breakfast and restaurant menu choices are few, particularly the quality of the coffee and the vegetarian spread (no eggs) however, if you inform them earlier they try their best to accommodate.

Amazing value for money, esp. when considering that afternoon tea, a visual guide, temple grounds access as well as the ticket to enter the temple with a guide are included. Nice, clean rooms, comfy beds, private terrace is also a plus. Can also recommend dnner at the resort restaurant - great variation of food at very reasonable prices. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
You really had to coax water out of the shower sometimes...

proximity to Borobudur
It was run-down.

Location for Borobudur is unbeatable as you can just wander in and out… huge breakfast.
Rooms are a little dated and ants are trying to work their way in.
Benefit of access to Borobudur is no longer useful as you have to pay full price and to climb the temple anyway. Management need to sort discount with archeological park.

Walking distance to the Temple and view of it from the dining area.
Restaurant was occupied by a big function so not available for guests

We love the location because it is inside the Brobudur temple park. After we visit the temple we were picked up by the hotel car and was taken to the Dagi Hill to look around. Pak Yohanes was very nice and informative. The hotel was very conveniently located to other tourist spots too. We think Magelang is a nice place to relax. It's nice.
The room with queen size bed. It's small and seems rarely used. The refrigerator was dirty and the floor was not so clean. But the staff switched our room to twin bed which us bigger and nicer. We're very thankful for that.

The grounds were lovely. Also being able to eat breakfast while looking at the temple was wonderful.

accomodation at the foot of the Borobodur and a cabin too watch the sunset and sunrise looking at the Borobodur. Beds were fantastic and everything neat and clean. Quiet and green with flowers and butterflies. A place to rest. Highly recommended to stay.
Bean coffee was hard to get

Incredible location, right next to Borobudur.
Clean rooms, nice setting.
The breakfast is quite basic considering the level of the hotel - and no espresso included, which was rather disappointing.
Maybe not the highest value for the price you pay (compared to Indonesian standards of the same level of accomodation), I'd say.

-Location close to Borobudur
-Everything Clean
-Friendly Staff
Not even close to be worth 1.5 million Rupiah a night. Especially if you can sleep nearby in hotels that are the same but 10x cheaper. If you don't care about money and want to be close to Borobudur it's okay to go here. Otherwise it's not worth it all. Especially when you cant even go up the Borobudur right now!

the air cond does not work properly. the wooden toilet doors expanded n cannot be closed properly. the property needs to be upgraded to command the price that they are charging. i would not recommend anybody to stay here. we asked for a checkout delay n the staff is not able to give us an immediate reply but have not o wait till the morning to give us an answer. we have to booked for chempaka villa nearby becos they were full the fillowing 3 nights. when we ask for a transfer to chempaka villas they ask for 100,000 idr which is expensive knowing that CV is only 300 mtrs away. so we called CV to take us over n charged us only 50,000 idr. for the amount of money we spent for the 2 rooms. they are not service oriented i wonder how the pandemic affected their business. they are totally out of the business world thinking they are in the sanctuaru land couldn’t care about the competition. i hope they are still around in 5 to 10 years time. the room is only 10 ft x 15 ft in size.

I had a good relaxing stay here. The property isn't all new, but it's maintained clean and all staff was very polite and friendly, it feels they really care and strive to provide nice experience to the guest.
I was very happy to get complimentary Sunset ticket pass along with Sunrise ticket. Each ticket costs around 600000 idr, so it was a great value for money.
My room was in a good condition, a nice garden area to relax outside. There were plenty of towels, bed was comfortable and bed sheets were clean. A/C worked, hot water was in the shower all the time.
The rooms were located in 5 mins drive from reception, restaurant and temple entrance, but car was all the time available for me.
Restaurant was clean with nice sitting area, food is very basic though, but still ok for one night stay, vegetarian choice was available.
Overall, it's a good choice to stay if you want to live near Stupa and spend plenty visiting there. If you just want to visit briefly, you can stay outside.
Sunrise and Sunset visits are must in my opinion, there's very spectacular view and less crowd. Day time is full of local school kids.
1) In my room there were only two power plugs, one for a table lamp and another one for TV. So I had to plug off TV to charge my gadgets.
2) Some bad smell used to come in bathroom when using toilet flush.
3) No resto near rooms, so no option for dinner room service.

First and foremost, the location — it was exceptional. Although the resort is a rather sprawling one, the nearest entrance to the magnificent temple is just a few minutes’ walk away from reception. For Manohara guests, there are no entrance fees to be paid, which was a nice bonus. As for our room, it was quite a distance away from reception — too far to walk — but transport was provided (free of charge, of course) and we never had to wait more than a minute or two to get it. The staff were first class — always polite, friendly, and helpful. The restaurant served great food and was good value for money.
Because this is a UNESCO site, there are no supermarkets nearby, and the hotel sells only cold drinks and t-shirts. The resort itself provides most things you might need, but the lack of shopping facilities for daily necessities you might not have brought with you is a minor inconvenience.

It's the perfect location if you want to experience and explore Borobudur Temple from sunrise to sunset. I was literally at the temple during sunrise, daytime and sunset coz of the complimentary passes that came with my accommodation at Manohara Resort.
Excellent resort staff who were extra warm and always ready and happy to assist its guest!
