This was the most beautiful resort! It must have been off season as we were almost alone, only few more people coming and going while we stayed 5 nights. So peaceful and quiet. The hut we were staying in was cozy and prepared with little details wherever you look. Yes there’s loads mosquitoes but we were provided repellent and coils. Got some water bottles every morning too. The spa is 10 out of 10, all lady’s showed the same high level of professionalism. Best (3) massages in my life! Thank you so much. The whole resort is so green and close to nature, it’s clean and just the most magical place. The staff cleans up the beach every day too but it won’t kill you to pick up one or two pieces of rubbish yourself if you see it ;) all staff were extremely helpful and nice. They even joined for a yoga session in the resorts own yoga shala - such down to earth people. There is beach beds and a beach bar to enjoy a fresh coconut while sunbathing.
Nothing negative to say about the resort! It’s just perfect
But if you wanna eat outside or do some exploring of the island, there is nothing close by. Next restaurant is like a 15 min walk and they mainly serve food that has some kind of seafood in it…done with fish balls for a while. But there is a small local scooter hire also a 10-15 min walk up the road, which rents out scooter for a fraction of what the resort’s recommended business charges.

Mutiara resort have everything we been looking for.
Quiet, natural environment, beach front with with a beautiful landscape. Perfect place to disconnect and relax. The room was perfect for us, with sea view on the front and river view at the back, we slept so good during our stay. The staff was so kind and always available. The food was good too.
And can’t miss the Spa experience on the river!! What a great experience.
We like all.

I woke each morning to hot tea and condensed milk delivered to my room. I was able to then emerge gently into the day, watch the birds, write and then take a few steps and be on the beach for a morning swim. I found a piece of paradise and the whole energetic framework of this place is one of calm and kindness, beauty and retreat.
That I had to leave - it was too short a stay and I would love to return.

Great eco friendly running of resort. Lovely beach area good for swimming mid tide or higher. Great cabin to relax in.
Restaurant is a bit pricey compared to local area. Room is also high for area but very nice.

A wonderful vacation with friendly staff and beautiful bungalows just steps away from the beach. Food was okay.
Unfortunately, the beach was highly littered and could use a clean-up. Alarming amount of plastic.
We hope that the hotel and local authorities will take steps to keep the beach clean and attractive

Amazing place to connect with nature and disconnect from the city. The spa is amazing. The beach is great. Staff are nice.
The food was ok. The breakfast is not for everybody. More and healthier options would be nice

The food, staff and simplicity of the Mutiara Beach Resort were just what we were after. We could get back to basics at Mutiara, focus on what was really important and RELAX.
The beds were a little firmer that what we're used to.

the staff was very friendly and helpful, the breakfast had only few options but it was ok for me.
the bed was too hard, there is no warm water in the hut, both the toilet and the shower were outside the hut, and they had just a curtain instead of a door. the hut was open near the roof which from one point was nice because my friend and I enjoyed the sea breeze but practically that meant that insects flew in constantly and the day light came in to the hut very early waking us up.

We had amazing two days staying in the seaside cottages - The bunglow, SPA, Food and Service were some of our highlights. Its a beautiful place for some quiet :)

Eco friendly mindset and area. close to nature and between jungle and sea.
dusty linens (blanket) and floor/room facilities not perfectly clean. a daily cleaning would be great.

Went to Mutiara with two friends on a weekend getaway from Singapore and it was exactly what we were hoping for. It took us one hour on the ferry followed by one hour in a car arranged by Mutiara. The staff was incredibly kind and thoughtful, the food was excellent (they have both Indonesian and Western options), and the location right on the water was beautiful. The highlight of the trip was our afternoon at the spa built out above the river. It took less than five minutes to walk there from bungalow where we stayed. We will be back again for sure!
Truly, nothing. This resort is integrated with nature, which means you get the beauty of a scenic view of the ocean along with the nuisance of the occasional bug, but it's nothing that a little mosquito repellent won't handle.

This resort was a breath of fresh air from a city environment. It gave us time to fully emerse ourselves in nature and allowed us to be more in contact with the local community due to the location. We loved it! We were very welcomed and didn’t feel alone, yet, felt completely peaceful and away from everything. It was the perfect mix.
The only part that is a little less welcoming is the cleanliness in terms of sheets and bathroom towels. However, with that said, considering the hotel works in a very sustainable way, any stains on sheets might also be due to avoiding regular heavy chemicals usually used. This wasn’t a factor that wouldn’t make us stay again. It was liveable anyways and everything else made it worth it. We didn’t even think about it twice. It’s part of the adventure and connecting truly with nature. Meaning, a stain isn’t always necessarily dirty, we’re just used to heavy chemicals that remove such things from our sheets.

The location, welcome, and all around experience were incredible. The resort is located on a huge stretch of deserted beach. We felt so spoiled walking around this tropical paradise without the usual crowds. Mark and his team were so welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble - organising last minute taxis to take us to sites around the island, a beautiful birthday cake, delicious food. Wish we had stayed longer as we did not get the chance to snorkel or take the paddle boards out. Will definitely return and highly recommend for anyone looking for a tranquil getaway in an unbeatable spot.

Marc and his team went above and beyond to provide the best hospitality and care for my parents. My dad needs a walking aid to get around and they ensured that there was always someone looking out for him. We loved our stay, it truly felt like going back to basics - rustic village life with 6 star services, facilities and waking up to that view! My favourite part was reading from the hammock with the view of the sea and lulled by the sea breeze. Or maybe it was the daily massages at the river spa where we travelled by boat to and got kneaded to the sounds of the mangrove and crickets. Or perhaps it was having breakfast by the beach. :)
The only negative I can think of was the sandflies! Apparently it happened to be the "season" but the beach was too beautiful for me to stay away from though so i got devoured. Staff was kind to offer me anti-itch cream. They do clean their beaches but not much to be done i guess if its seasonal.
Food was limited but whatever they had was very good. Fresh and better than what we got outside the resort.
Thank you to the always smiling staff and to Marc for indulging my parents' with their food request!

This is the perfect place to stay if you want to spend time relaxing in nature. It’s very rustic in a good way. The beach is beautiful, the accommodation is really pretty - with a hammock and veranda to sit on - the food and service is excellent, and the river spa and massage was amazing. You hear nature all around you, which we also loved. They even held a night bonfire on the beach for us. We will definitely be going back!
The bed was very hard. It was fine for us but might be a challenge for some people to get a good night sleep.

Spa massage place, environment and quality of massages.
Food is homemade and delicious.
Traditional houses set up.
Unfortunately, engine noises shorter my sleep.

The houses are better than I imagined. If you are looking for a peace and quite, this is the best place.
You can feel the freedom from stressful life. The staffs are always with their smiles. The food are way better than I expected.
This not a luxury place. but freedom is everywhere. Total relax is what we expected and what we really got.
The owner is very friendly. And his pet dog is a one playful guy.
The beach is clean and tidy. They even prepared bonfire for us on beach at night.
I do not have anything for better. I like it as the way it is.

Everything came together to give us memories of a lifetime - the rustic charm, the fresh, delicious food, smiling faces that made you part of the family, the tranquil beach, and above all a host we’ll remember! Thank you Mike, everybody else and Blackie for giving us a home away from home!
Like in the rest of Bintan, remember to keep the insect repellent handy!

- Fourth time staying at Mutiara, never disappointed
- Very relaxing vibes with nature all around and a beautiful beach front. Perfect for a "slow lifestyle" retreat!
- Staff is nice and helpful.
- Traditional-style huts
- Not a problem at all for me - quite the opposite in fact - but the simplicity of the facilities might not be for everyone. If you're looking for luxury comfort, this is not the place for you. Putting this here because a family decided to change to a bigger hotel during our stay because they didn't enjoy that level of simplicity.
