About this house rental
What makes this property special. The reasons are; the owners do not live on or adjacent to the property, location, beds, TV area, very fast WiFi.
Firstly, I would say around 80% of short term rentals rentals have the owners who live on the property or right next to it. We are neither. You dont have to feel like you are being watched over.
Location! The cottage is just mintues from Downtown Fairhope and the Grand Hotel, but you feel like you are in the country. Big backyard, large privacy fences on both sides. Behind the cottage is a horse field, there is an empty lot to the East of us, and the lot on the other side is a nice couple. Across the street is a wooded area that is part of the Point Clear Tennis Club and Char 32 restaurant.
I love a good TV watching area! The cottage has this. Nice couch, Dish Network, and enough seating for the family. Alot of rentals have TV mounted up high on the wall. Our TV is mounted on the wall at eye level, so you are not straining your neck just to watch a show. After a long day of playing, it nice to come back and watch a good show or movie. The cottage has powerful interent, so if you stream your favorite show, there is no buffering.
An important part of the VRBO experience is the beds. The cottage has king size beds in two of the rooms; and they are very comfortable.
And Lastly, fast WiFi. The cottage has extremely fast Wifi- around
400mpbs!
After that long day of playing hard, if you dont want to go out to eat, the kitchen has everything you need. All of the essentials. Even a gas range.
Coffee and creamer provided.
New washer and gas dryer recently added (Oct 2022). This comes in handy for our long term guests.
Are you in town for a wedding or event and have 5 people needing a shower to get ready? The cottage has a new oversized gas water heater to provide plenty of hot water(cold showers are the worst).
Great internet speeds. I have tested different carriers, and have found the best one for this property. The internet has plenty of power and speed.
The Grand hotel is 4min away! The Gulf is only 42min. Downtown Fairhope is a 7min.
Lets just get this out of the way..cleanliness. This is what is on everyones mind, with good reason. We have high expectations to provide our guests a clean place to stay. Along with washing the regular stuff like sheets and towels, we wash bedspreads and blankets. We also sanitize all surfaces multiple times.
A house that sleeps 5 is the magic number. Not to big or too small... Just what the average family needs. Large kitchen table to fit the whole family.
This modest house was built in the early 80's. It is nestled in a neighborhood of grand estates and small houses.
Fine dinning restaurant, Char 32, is within walking distance across the street in the Point Clear Tennis Club. One of my favorite things is to get at Char 32 is their beef tip appetizer and bring it back to the cottage....it is so good.
Brand new Publix grocery store is less than five minutes away. No stop lights on the way to Publix(as you can see, I am not a fan of stop lights). This is one of the nicest Publix I have been in.

We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage! It was perfectly clean and exactly what we needed for our baseball tournament during the hot summer. Michael was very helpful in giving recommendations and was available throughout the stay for anything we may need. I highly recommend staying here!

This is a great place to stay. The host is the best we’ve ever had - great communication, very responsive. The house is very clean, and it is well stocked. Our young grandchildren stayed one night with us, and they were entertained. It was easy to have a 2 1/2 year old there. The area is beautiful. We had a lovely stay.

The property was very clean, had all the amenities we needed, and was very spacious for a small house. The deck on the back of the house was a very popular spot. We will definitely try to book this house when we come back to Fairhope.

Our family had a wonderful visit to this property! The cottage was well supplied and had everything we needed for a family of 5 with older children. The hosts were welcoming and we felt confident had we needed any assistance that they would have been available and accommodating. Finally, the cottage was conveniently located to Fairhope which was a big bonus for our quick trip!

We stayed at this property for a weekend while in town for a friend’s wedding. It was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Michael the host went out of his way to leave snacks for us when we arrived and write a nice note welcoming us to the property. Highly recommend!

We are group of traveling plumbers all we care about is hot showers and beds anything more is a plus to us. Well no one complained about their bed all of us slept good, and we all had enough hot water to shower each night after work! It’s a good place that we have added to our list to check anytime we have to return to the area to work!

This little cottage was the best! Very spacious, comfortable beds, clean bathrooms & all the small touches were just wonderful. Absolutely loved drinking my coffee on the screened in porch. Welcome packet w/ instructions were quite helpful. Location was perfect for visiting our family that lives just a few miles from this sweet retreat. Will def book again in the future.

Brought my 93 yo Mother to visit family. They came from towns all around to have a little get together. The cottage was a perfect setting. Older place but everyone loved it. Our host Michael was a pleasure to work with. We hope to return.

This was a very charming cottage right in the middle of everything we needed during our stay in Fairhope. Michael, our host, was beyond friendly and we felt very welcomed as he messaged us the morning before our stay to ensure all was in order and to answer any questions. When we arrived, we had personalized water bottles and snacks prepared for us, all in all, I truly appreciate these personal touches.
Just under a mile away is an amazing walking trail along Mobile Bay where you can not only see beautiful views, but witness true Southern culture on the boardwalk.
This was a great getaway and we would definitely stay here again. Thank you Michael!

This cottage offers the ideal HQ for Mobile Bay exploits, nearby the hypnotic waterside itself with its natural wonders or a full flow into the day and night adventures of food, music and warm community hospitality. Call this little Vrbo gem SNUG, RESTORATIVE, TRUSTWORTHY… call it RETURN!

We visited the area for a wedding and decided to make it a mini vacation over the long weekend. The cottage was exactly what we needed, was very comfortable and clean and the property manager was super attentive. I appreciated the labels on the light switches and the printed info on the house and area. It was close to a very nice Publix and the Bay. Definitely will stay here the next time we are in the area.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Point Clear Cottage. The cottage is clean, quiet and comfortable. You are very close to many wonderful shops and restaurants! You have everything you need during your stay including a well stocked kitchen and comfortable beds. Michael really is a great host and thinks of everything from "Welcome snacks" to small "white noise" machines in the bedrooms closest to the road in case you may be bothered by any noise. We will definately be back!

We stayed in the cottage for several weeks while house hunting and waiting for our house to close. We stayed more than a month and the cottage began to feel a little like home to us.
Our stay at the cottage was extremely peaceful. It is in a very quiet location with horses grazing in the field behind the property. We have found the screened in back porch and covered deck area to be very relaxing on a cool evening.
The cottage had everything we needed and was clean a tastefully decorated upon our arrival.
The owners live local, are extremely attentive, and did everything possible to make sure we were comfortable.
We would definitely reccommend Point Clear Cottage for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat but still wants to be close to downtown Fairhope and the Beaches of the gulf coast. If you have a boat, this would be great for a boating vacation. There was plenty of room to park our boat onsite and the cottage is very close to boat ramps on the Mobile Bay.
We definitely would stay here again.

Stay at Point Clear Cottage
Michael was extremely helpful from the time we booked until the time we left. He even helped us secure a stay at a nearby location when our plans changed and had to stay another night but his cottage had been booked. Perfect location, just outside of Fairhope and the cottage is very well kept. Will certainly stay here again when we come back.

The cottage had everything to make us feel at home. The beds were comfortable, it was very clean, the owner gave us suggestions for hiking and beaches, and had a book full of recommendations where to eat.
We loved sitting on the back porch with coffee in the morning, and wine in the evening. It was very private, but close to everything. Loved it!!!
