Good and comfy room, overall would recommend for future travelers

Room was comfy and warm, staff were friendly and helpful, showers have good hot water pressure, breakfast was provided and it was pretty nice, checking-in and out was easy. The architecture of the building looks pretty cool and vintage too.

Unfortunately the sound insulation wasn't too good between the rooms, but we were unlucky to have the couple in the room next to us having an argument in the middle of the night, so I guess it's not entirely the management's fault.

Good location

Really more a hostel than a hotel. Although the bathrooms were nice, they were shared. Also had to be out by 10am

Staff were lovely helpful welcoming when first arrived

Not a lot of takeaway shops were open was like a Sunday to us but hard with kids to find suitable restaurant to eat at Lil hard with a child in a wheelchair only access was through the bar awkward when arriving at night to not disturb other patrons no wheelchair access to accommodation

Friendly genuine generous hearted staff Ambience. Atmosphere of friendliness from staff, and the other guests. A really enjoyable stay.

A shelf in the bathroom would have been helpful, but not a big deal.

You could hear people coming and going from their rooms. Not very sound proof.

Lovely old building. Loved the claw foot baths in the bathrooms. Bed was really comfy. Excellent stay.

Overall excellent value for the price , friendly and helpful staff, very clean. Would stay again.

A continental breakfast was supplied which was excellent value for money . The staff were very friendly and helpful and showed us up to our room , checked we were able to get into our room with our key-card. Then showed us our shared lounge, kitchen and bathroom facilties.

Could have been a couple of extra pillows available in our room !

Very clean budget accommodation

Very very clean, beautiful bathrooms, friendly staff.

Rest of building a bit outdated. The family room says it has a a kitchenette, but it was a shared kitchenette/lounge on the floor

Superb

The super clean modernised freshly renovated room and en suite were testimony that you should never judge a book by its cover. This white oblong antique building represents its age as does the rich historical first floor containing the restaurant bar and fabulous staircase to the upper guest suites which leap straight into the 2020s. The towels are fluffy and white. The shower one of the nicest in NZ and the bed comfy and everything a s very clean.

The cleaning oroducts used are a little overpowering. Something without perfume would be better and prevent sinus.

Bloody terrific.

This old school classic pub doesn’t try to be anything else, with its larger than life staff to the and it’s solid timber bones. Take me back here!

Disappointing

The bathroom was good even though you share with bunch of people. it looks like newly renovated.

The bed kept making noise whenever I moved. Also, outside cars and trucks sound were loud in the middle of the night. I guess the building is old and no soudproof. If you are sensitive to sounds, I would not reccomden to stay over. I hear all the sound from the next door.

It was close to the venue we were attending during our stay as well as all amenities.

Having to change key cards several times and it would have been great to have a family room.

It was lovely, historic building that had had some lovely upgrades. Lovely little town

Huge room, comfy bed. The heater was nicely sufficient for the size of the room.

The TV could have been in a better place. It was awkward tucked in the corner so you couldn't both watch it in bed

Best for one night stays, most of the other guests were truckies or sales reps.

Comfortable bed and clean room. Basic but adequate shared kitchen facilities. Shared kitchen spotlessly clean.

Unfortunately a contractor started water blasting exterior of the building 2 of the 3 mornings we were there. Before he even started he had his radio blasting out so he could hear it over the waterblaster. Not very considerate to guests.
