About this house rental
Ideally located on a 5 acres with 350 feet of white-sand beach yet only 2 miles from town. The villa has two floors with a wrap around deck on each. On the ground floor, there are three bedroom suites, each with a private bath along with a comfortable breezeway and easy access to the pool. Upstairs includes the common living areas and kitchen as well as another master suite. The splendid terrace overlooks the beach on one side and the pristine jungle and Maya mountains on the other. Here you can relax and enjoy the cool ocean breezes as you sip your morning coffee.
With 5 acres and over 350 feet of beach, there is an amazing quiet and privacy. With only 1/2 mile to the airstrip and 2 miles to town you have the convenience to readily visit the many unique restaurants and attractions of Placencia and its famous central sidewalk.

Getting to Villa Ranguana: we are located about half a mile from the Placencia Airstrip. From the US - most people fly into Belize City (about 2-3 hr flight from Atlanta, Charlotte, Dallas, Houston, Miami or 5 hr from Los Angeles). From Belize City there are 3 options: 1. a 20 minute local flight on Maya or Tropic Air to Placencia airstrip, 2. you can rent a vehicle and drive down to Placencia from Belize City which takes about 2-3 hours or 3. we can recommend a driver to transfer you down.

Our group rated this vacation #1. Villa Ranguana didn’t disappoint. We had everything we needed and it was in a location where we felt safe, had privacy, and a beautiful ocean view. It was clean and well-maintained by Albert and Francee who live next door. They were perfect hosts, stocked groceries, and arranged golf cart rentals for our arrival. You will need a golf cart if you want to go anywhere, and you want them reserved before you get there. I had waited too long and could not find any in Placencia, but Albert saved the day by finding our group, two brand-new golf carts! Albert also arranged for Chef Nelson to cook Belizean dinners for us. We highly recommend Nelson. We liked Placencia and Villa Ranguana so much that we are already discussing a return in 2027.

We have stayed at this house twice now. Both times have been great! The location is perfect for being laid back and away from the busyness but also just close enough to go into town everyday for some groceries and eating at the restaurants. We highly recommend staying here!!

Villa Ranguana is an amazing place. We had a spectacular time with friends. Francee and Albert were very accommodating and were always available. Highly recommended for future visitors. Close to the action, but also remote and private. Our party of 10 thoroughly enjoyed it!

What a magical place! The home is as amazing as advertised, and the owner is communicative. The caretakers, Albert and Francee are delightful and always willing to help, and their gorgeous pup, Archie, was an especially nice surprise since all of us are dog people and were missing our own beasties.

Villa Ranguana is amazing and exceeded our expectations! The home is beautiful and spacious, with spectacular views of the ocean. The private beach is lovely, one can swim, snorkel, or kayak (provided by villa) in the ocean or dip in the freshwater pool. The location is an easy golf cart trip into the village of Placencia for a taste of local cuisine or to purchase a souvenir locally crafted.
Albert & Francee were exceptional hosts, and dog, Archie, the perfect greeter! They were extremely friendly, highly responsive, and very helpful; helped book tours and restaurants, provided daily cleaning, and even arranged to have Chef Mark prepare dinner - delicious!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend. If you are considering Villa Ranguana, book now!

Our stay was amazing. All six of us staying said the pictures didn’t do it justice at all. The house was amazing and very clean and more beautiful than the pictures show. Albert was so helpful and booked a couple excursions plus a chef for a couple nights. We had rental car issues and he was on it helping us if he could. The air in the rooms worked great. The one minor thing was the master bed was more firm than I like to sleep on but I still had a great nights sleep. Highly recommend this house for just friends or even family!

I understand wanting to rent your home & you believing it's perfect.This listing is not & please do not advertise it as such.These were all the items that were stated in the listing that were just NOT true.
1.Newly built?(This made us angry)Maybe BEFORE? the hurricane, but it was EXTREMELY well worn(beds had no mattress protectors, WORN paper thin sheets that didn't fit correctly)
2.It is quite small for 4 people unless you are parents and kids.Not good for two couples.
3.Many sun chairs = 2 deck chairs.
Beach chairs? non existent (and I asked before hand & John said yes!)
4.Wi-Fi was excellent.
5.Original listing stated Satellite TV.When I complained, John changed the listing & said it never stated that.I have a copy of the original listing.The bedroom TV's would not connect to "Roku" and the living room couch was too uncomfortable to use.
6.Dishwasher did not work.Washer/Dryer did not work, and that was after we called to learn how to use.Ice Machine =did not work.They left a half used bag of ice in the freezer.
7.The air conditioners worked Perfect.
8.Pantry supplies included only; salt, pepper & coffee filters. It did NOT include hand soap, dish soap,(they did bring some) garbage bags, kitchen towels nor any other kitchen pantry item.
9.The hand held shower head had a huge leak.(The bed got wet when showering.)
10.The toilet ran, had to "jiggle" the handle
11.SUGAR ANTS EVERYWHERE (and that was AFTER they came&sprayed.)

We took our family to Belize to celebrate my 75th birthday & our 25th wedding anniversary. We chose Villa Ranguana because it a)looked beautiful, b) had a pool AND a private beach & 3) it was close to town.
We were delighted when we arrived to a spotlessly clean villa that was exactly as shown in the photos. Totally private, beautiful views of the sea, nice rooms & Albert & Francee the caretakers who lived next door.
We had asked for a private chef to cook dinners & 1 breakfast for the 9 of us & they got Ray, who used to cook for a fine local restaurant, the Breezeway. It was the best decision we made. We handled breakfasts & came home to delicious Belizran style meals almost every night. At a reasonable cost!
We dealt with all the people recommended by Dave, the owner of the Villa and were well taken care of on every tour. Monkey River was so cool & the Garifuna center in Hopkins with Jason was a unique experience. Truly Wild Belize was great as was Ranguana Caye - we almost wish we had stayed there!

We stepped out of our taxi and simply said "Wow. This is ours?" The Villa was beyond my expectations. The expansive beach, pool, terrace, huge rooms, sea breezes, sunrise views, outdoor shower in main bath, living space, kitchen...It was everything we hoped for and more. Albert & Francee were so warm and helpful in every way. They helped us with booking snorkeling, fishing, horseback riding and in-house massages as well as cooking us a birthday dinner that was delicious and pre-stocking the fridge for our arrival! We felt like royalty. The location was good as well, extremely private beach with two solid restaurants basically at the end of the driveway. The ocean was warm and great for floating/snorkeling. Our fishing guide picked us up right from the beach. One bummer was the sand flies/no see ums - bring deet / anti-itch cream. We were covered in bites. Highly recommend Villa Ranguana and would go back in a heartbeat.

From before we arrived when we were taken to the airport, this property and the people that care for it have been amazing!
Before we arrived, I spent many hours and many more emails chatting with our host and finding all of the information I needed for the various people that would be with me. This included where doctors were located, finding us a private Chef to hire, and giving us advice on the best places to find adventure!
Once we were there, Albert and Francie took care of all our needs. They are the caretakers that live in the house next door. Whenever I would text or ask them for something, they helped me within minutes! They are both kind and friendly people. They helped arrange tours, talked to us about great places to eat, told us stories about their lives, and we're simply wonderful to have around if we needed them!
The rooms each came with their own bathroom and each one was gorgeous. The upstairs master bedroom has views that look out onto the ocean. Each of the downstairs rooms open to the beach mirror feet away. You can hear the beautiful sound of the surf every night as you fall asleep.
While we chose to have a private chef, there are many wonderful places to eat. If you do not use a private chef, you can still have all your food pre-stocked by Albert! It was comforting to arrive after a day of travel and be able to sit down with some food already in the refrigerator.
There are kayaks and chairs right on the beach to be used whenever you wish. There are as many towels as you could want! Since our party was always either in the pool or in the ocean, that came in handy!
We also rented a golf cart from Captain Jak's which was dropped off and picked up at our location. Since Captain Jack's knows the location and Albert, everything went completely smoothly.
For those of you wanting to know about Wi-Fi and the television, both are available and both work well. Albert showed us how to use the remote for the TV and we found everything we wanted. The the Wi-Fi worked well in every room and even by the pool and on the beach. If any of you need to use the Wi-Fi for work, it should be fine.
I don't know what else to say about this place to convince you that it is an absolute dream! The owner even checked in with me halfway through the stay to see how things were going.
If you are considering staying here, consider no longer! You will have the time of your life!

We had a fantastic stay at the property. We had 17 people and rented the Villa and adjacent Casa. Albert, the onsite caretaker, was very pleasant and helpful. The villa is set up for plenty of privacy for a larger group and has plenty of toys to enjoy the ocean. I’d recommend using Albert to help with logistics on transportation and organized day trips. The excursion to Ranguana island is well with the cost and boat ride. We’d recommend Villa Ranguana or the Casa to anyone.

Very clean, efficient house service (Albert and Francis) and on call chef (Ray, who we nearly took home in our luggage!). Booked all tours through Jason at Truly Wild Belize and golf carts at Captain Jaks. Dave the owner checks in and all of that together, made for a truly relaxing stay.
The folks in Placencia, and all the places we toured, were very nice and helpful.
Highly recommend Ranguana as a villa to book.

This property was just as beautiful as the pictures show! We had an amazing time with 3 couples and 2 kids. We rented golf carts that were perfect transportation to town. We highly recommend taking the puddle jumper from Belize city to Placencia. The airport is right by the house. The caretaker was very helpful and checked on us every morning. While we were there a sea turtle came and laid eggs one night on the beach. It was stunning. Great for a large family vacation! They also have a lot of kitchen supplies (pot,pans, glassware etc) we cooked dinner multiple nights and had everything we needed!

Slice of heaven
This property was the perfect backdrop for my birthday celebration. It was wonderful. The views are breathtaking. It’s a little slice of heaven. The property manager’s were accommodating and the place has everything you need to relax, dine and enjoy. My friends and I had a great stay and are already planning our return.

Albert and Francisca are wonderful, and helped us out with major issues (Covid, other medical problems) and minor issues (setting up tours, minor maintenance). Having them available was an amazing addition to our stay. Albert appears to know everybody and can get things done. Francisca keep the Villa sparkling, and showed us how to make tortillas. Dave (the owner) provided a lot of really helpful information and advice before we arrived. Placencia is a really interesting village, with a surprising number of really great restaurants and bars. There are several grocery stores and innumerable souvenir stores to keep your fridge and suitcase full. I recommend taking the commuter flight from Belize City to Placencia. It is much easier than the 3+ hour drive over 50 or so speed bumps! We spent a fair amount of time snorkeling right off the shore. No reefs, but an easy time and there are lots of starfish, some rays, and a few other fishes.

We stayed at Villa Ranguana for 5 nights and it was the best vacation ever! From booking the vacation to help with excursions, trip details and directions the entire process was flawless. We took advantage of a private chef for 3 meals a day and the food was absolutely incredible! Mateo and Marvin are amazing cooks!! Each meal out did the previous one!
Alberto and Francisca were incredibly helpful! Alberto helped with excursions and general info at the house. Francisca did an amazing job cleaning the house while we were there!

The best!
First off, the owner is very communitive and the caretake Alberto is extremely helpful. I have booked many VRBO homes and never had the owner reach out to me within a day of booking. Email and text, it was all very helpful and made us feel at ease.
The property is amazing! Cool vibe, well maintained and very comfortable. There wasn't a bad day to be had. We love the beach and the water was very warm! Diving is awesome in Belize! This home allowed us the space and comfort to bring our two-year-old, giving him space to run without having to worry about neighbors.
This home far exceeds expectations and is a splendid value once you enjoy it.

Paradise
Pure paradise. Stan, Alberto, and Francesca have all been wonderful. The home has been perfect for our family of four. All the amenities needed and more. If given the chance to visit Placencia, I’m not sure there is a nicer home on the peninsula. And if you’re lucky, you might even be treated to some of Francesca’s homemade tortillas. Thanks for a wonderful trip!

Ocean Front Villa in Palencia - Beautiful
I absolutely loved our stay at the Villa Ranguana. The villa's floorplan and decor is beautiful, and the bedrooms are very comfortable. Upstairs, we opened up the house each morning - there are glass doors and windows that wrap around the kitchen, dining and living area. We purchased food from the local grocery store and cooked many of our meals at the villa. We had some wonderful meals out at Rum Fish, Tipsy Tuna and La Dolce Vita.
We took a tour boat over to Ranguana Caye, an island about 30 minutes away, where we snorkeled, kayaked, attempted paddle boarding, and were fed a delicious meal. There was also a bar on the island, and some fishermen caught lobsters that we purchased and took back to the villa and cooked.
The views, breeze and sounds of the ocean waves made for a very relaxing, enjoyable vacation.

Perfect house for a perfect vacation
Absolutely beautiful rental with a fabulous location. Large rooms with individual large bathrooms. The view was breathless and the staff was very accommodating and friendly. I would recommend this vacation spot as a five on your list of places to go.

Amazing Villa - was even better than website pictures!!
We stayed in the villa with extended family for a special occasion. One room was better than the next! Spacious, comfortable and clean with spectacular views from your own private beach. We spent lazy, sunny days at our private pool, swimming laps in the gorgeous Caribbean and slipping into town for some shopping and tasty authentic Belizean lunches as well as stopping at the dock for the fresh catch of the day and grilling on our brand new barbeque on our front deck (included at our villa). Stan and Mary (the managers) were beyond expectations! They were attentive, accommodating and most of all a pleasure deal with. Anything that you needed, they were there, making it happen. Alberto and Franci, the caretakers, were also there to make your stay comfortable and more than enjoyable. They are next door so they are available whenever you need them...making us feel comfortable and safe. All and all this was a fantastic experience and I recommend it if your'e looking to go to Placencia you will definitely not be disappointed... in fact you will have the time of your life.
