This home was exactly what we needed. We came into town for a memorial service and brought our children and pets along. It was more than enough space, pet friendly and beautiful. I would buy it and stay in FL if I could. Felt like we were at home, away from home.

Our stay here at 573 West Dees Road was simply…..”A little slice of HEAVEN”!
The A-Frame Home is probably the most CHARMING place we’ve ever stayed during our few years now of….
“Travels”. Everything about it, from its outside flora & fauna to its inside unique decor was so very special for us:
The GYNORMOUS Hot Tub, the interesting 🤔 spiraling attic staircase, the innovative architectural design of the home itself and….
Last but certainly not least was the AMAZING PEACE of the LORD it afforded us, overshadowing us under the massive arms of the GIANT OAK at the front entrance!!!
THANK YOU, Lucinda Williams, our Guest Hostess. You are …Amazing.
We are planning to….. RETURN!
Blessings

We loved the unique style of this home and how quiet the location was. It was centrally located for what we had planned to do but honestly I would have been happy spending a day laying on the daybed in the screened in porch and listening to the birds.

We were there for a baseball tournament. Worked great! Would recommend. Property was clean and comfortable. Communication with the owner was easy.

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. Because of a previous review we were skeptical, but were pleasantly surprised. There’s a beautiful patio with seating and lighting. The house is older and we had some minor issues with plumbing, but overall this property was perfect for us. Our teenagers were able to utilize the entire upper floor with their own living/tv area. The kitchen is stocked with anything you need to make a home cooked meal. The s’mores caddy was a great surprise! Overall, the house was perfect for 2 softball families with teenagers. Correct the minor plumbing concerns and you’ve got a perfect place to stay in Lakeland, FL.
Thanks for the great stay!

Terrible...Dirty (dead bugs in kitchen window, Petrified dead frog in the kitchen door, hair in the shower, bugs in shower window), marbles on the floor from prior guests, broken windows, overgrown plants everywhere, hot tub wouldn't heat, refrigerator makes LOUD noises, place stunk due to perfume type spray to hide the stench of the run down property. Have photos this is a fraudulent listing beware. Disputed charges with credit card after nothing from host or follow through from my call to VRBO.

Spacious with wonderful hospitality & decor
This is a beautiful home with plenty of space for a large group to stay for a while. We were excited to see a welcome basket for us in the kitchen with yummy snacks. The kitchen is spacious and has EVERYTHING you would ever need. The family room is also spacious with comfortable furnishings and a huge TV. The bedrooms were all large as well. They had a den on the 2nd floor with another TV but we didn’t need that. It gives you plenty of room to spread out though if you do need it. We used the hot tub and it was wonderful. We also used the fire pit. There were flashlights, lighters & started sticks we could use. There is a laundry room with detergent and shelving – plus games you can use. If you want to drive downtown, the traffic down 98 is rough so expect 20-30 minutes to get there. But you may not want to even leave this house. We highly recommend!

Beautiful home!
We loved our stay in this house. The hot tub/swim spa is amazing (seriously huge)... I’ve never seen anything like it! Being wonderfully secluded at the end of a small road, gives this large lot a rural feel right at the edge of town. Perfect for families with kids! Probably the nicest vacation rental we’ve had! Hosts are friendly and helpful! Highly, highly recommend. Would give it 6 stars if that was possible!

Everything associated with renting this property was handled first class! The property was located in a rural area just off of a main highway and in a favorable location to Lakeland and Spring Training with the Detroit Tigers. All you need for your stay is provided, and food and beverage is found in the close proximity of property! Everything in the property description is spot on. The entrance to your stay is somewhat of an experience but a nice quiet area exists for your stay! We are coming back next year!

Awesome property in a great location!
This probably is fantastic. It has a country feel but right close to everything. The home is very clean and has everything you need. The hot tub is gigantic. You could probably fit a dozen sumo wrestlers in it. The fire pit and the patio was serene with really neat overhead lighting, and there is plenty of space to park. There are 100's of shops, restaurants, grocery stores, gas stations, etc in very close proximity. Even Tampa is close but you have that country feel with plenty of space to hangout with family and friends indoor or outdoor at this property, and the owners make it special and easy for you to enjoy. I will definitely be returning in future visits to the Lakeland/Tampa area!

The coolest VRBO ever!
My family (2 adults, 3 kids, 2 dogs) were very happy to stay at this property in December 2019. We have family in Lakeland, so we have stayed at many local vacation rentals and were lucky enough to discover this one shortly after it was first listed. This is by far the coolest vacation rental we have ever visited in Lakeland or anywhere. The house has such a neat, retro vibe. The owners have modernized all the important bits and made very cool design choices, while maintaining some of the original charm and quirkiness. Note this has not been completely gutted redone, there are some uneven floors and creaking doors expected for an older home, but to us that added to its charm.
The property has a camp like feel, with an amazing fire pit my kids loved and want to recreate at home. Even though it is just off US98, it feels rural and remote.
The hosts were great to deal with and quick to answer any questions by text throughout our stay. They left a lovely welcome gift and provided more items than typically available in a vacation rental. We really appreciated the homey touches.
One of the best things about this house is that we could bring our dogs. There was plenty of green space to walk the dogs outside (though note there is not fenced in yard.)
As a nervous mama, the only thing I wasn't crazy about was the proximity to water (the property is bordered on one side by a small, overgrown pond). Of course, since the town is LAKEland, it shouldn't be unexpected.
To summarize, things we loved:
Great design in a retro, unique house
Camp-like property
Dog friendly
Three bedrooms with very comfortable beds
Separated master (upstairs)
Two indoor sitting areas (downstairs and upstairs) [Note: the pictures show a spiral staircase, this is for attic access and not used by guests. There is a regular staircase to access upstairs.]
Screened in porch (upstairs)
HUGE hot tub - like an above ground swimming pool - that had a secure cover
Patio area with lovely strings of outdoor lights - we enjoyed dining al fresco and took pictures of this area to recreate something similar at home.
Large built in fire pit
Great hosts
All the little homey touches. It was much better outfitted than most vacation rentals.
Location - just off 98, short drive to Publix
Things we weren't crazy about:
Not much!
The proximity to a small pond
We have already planned our next trip this unique VRBO. I expect it will book quickly.
