Very cute and peace place. Truly and old cabin, low ceilings. Steps are step and corners are tight in places. Shower is very small. But very relaxing and just right off the interstate but on a very calm street. I didn’t see anyone else at all.

The property was full of character. It was decorated tastefully. The bed was very comfortable with great bedding. We enjoyed the history of the property. Would definitely stay again if we are ever in the area.

Nice clean, quiet, quaint cabin in rustic setting. We enjoyed our trip, and are glad we stayed there, but would probably not return. We expected to have a river view and access to it based on ad saying it was a cabin on a river. Yet we could not even see river either from property or Beach Street (that may be different in the winter), and there is no walking access to it. That was disappointing as we expected enjoy a cabin "on the river." While technically correct, it's not what most envision from that phrase.

I really enjoyed my overnight. The living area is so comfortable and the decor and books right up my alley. The bed and linens as well as pillows were so comfy and I slept great! Nice and neat kitchen and bath. A few suggestions I have would be to just add a railing up the stone steps from the street. I knew about them but with luggage and food bags it’s very difficult to walk up and down only touching a tree stump or rock here and there. Also the cabin did not smell fresh. I would maybe spray febreeze before each visitor. Also I had wished to have access to walk down to the river. I wish that had been advertised that there was not access.

Good clean place smells nice and was very comfortable for us

Loved the log cabin vibe! Not far off the highway but felt very private.

The antique furnishings were exactly my style. The king bed was very comfortable. I somehow missed in the description of the property that the bedroom and living rooms were up a steep flight of stairs, while the kitchen and bathroom were on the first floor. We found our clothes covered with animal hair after sitting on the couch. The stairs to access the property were VERY treacherous. I can’t believe there is no railing and the top portion of them are so very uneven. Would not stay there again.

Old log cabin, steep old stone steps leading up to the cabin. Clean modern kitchen. Steep stairs to second floor living room, good Wi-Fi, comfortable chairs, couch, king size bed.
Easy drive to downtown Lexington and the racetrack, Five minutes to Proud Mary's for great BBQ and music.

We stayed here while visiting our son who goes to UK. It was exactly as listed. We knew going into it that the outside stairs were hazardous, but we took our time. Our dog enjoyed her stay as well. The price is right for this cozy cabin.

We truly enjoyed our stay. It was comfortable and quaint. The stairs were treacherous for us old gals but we managed as we had a young friend with us. The kitchen not very well stocked if you are a cook but overall this was a lovely way to spend time with friends.

Great location and perfect for a long weekend. As mentioned in the description the steps to the house are a little daunting and steep but we did enjoy the house and loved we could being our pup with us. You can't beat the price for this house. Make sure to swing by Proud Mary's BBQ right down the road for good food and music!

This cabin has a great rustic feel and the location feels hidden despite being close to lots of stuff.
The only thing is watch out for the poison ivy growing all over, including both side of the front steps, creeping onto the stairs, and hanging just above your head on those same stairs.

The neighborhood was not what I expected but everything worked out great. The Proud Mary's was a really fun experience for my husband and I! It was super crazy that out in the middle of nothing there was this super busy and hopping restaurant with live music! Really fun and really uniqu. Great overall experience!super busy

My friend and I absolutely loved this little place! It was very cute, very comfortable, and very clean. We would not hesitate to stay again! Everything was exactly as described. I would say if you have difficulty walking, which we do not, the stairs getting into the house might be tough.

We stayed on our way to NC and back. We were very comfortable each night.

Everything was fine. Amenities and cleanliness excellent.
I'm 75 and have a heart condition. As a result the entrance steps were uneven and really tough to navigate with my suitcase. Having to negotiate steps during the night was uncomfortable.

We had a great stay, and our hosts provided all we needed! Be very sure you are sure-footed and comfortable with stairs. The steps up to the cabin do require dexterity. They are not kidding about uneven. Otherwise, we were very comfortable here, and enjoyed the cabin's age and character. Very conveniently located to LEX!

Close enough to Lexington for daily fun. Short enough drive to the Ark and Creation (max 1.5 hours)
It was quiet and peaceful. The stairs outside were a bit tricky, but we knew that when we booked. The new HVAC system did struggle on a really hot afternoon - but we were able to stay cool in the downstairs area.
My husband and I had a blast and highly recommend!

Stayed here 2 nights at the end of our babymoon trip. Cabin was as described on site and located on a quiet street. Appreciated the local suggestions in the guestbook. Very peaceful and relaxing stay and would recommend to anyone looking for the same.

We wanted a different experience and this cabin provided. It was decorated appropriately and quite cozy. There were some cracks in the planks and possibility of critters getting in but we had not issues with that. Fun cabin adventure stay.

We found multiple restaurants nearby which were all very good. We came for a concert at the Rupp Arena and the cabin was conveniently located. We especially enjoyed hiking at nearby Ravens Run. The communication with the host was excellent and the cabin was a special treasure! We were blessed to make some treasured memories!

Rustic/ modern mix just off the highway. Friendly neighbors who minded their own business and we had no problems whatsoever.
10 minutes away from downtown Lexington, yet felt like we were in the middle of small town USA.
I would definitely stay there again when I'm in the area.

We have a lovely weekend at the cabin. We did some bourbon tours, winery, and local eats. Some comments: the steps up are quite wonky so if you have issues walking then be mindful. We are very able and we’re okay. Also, because of the age and nicknacks in the cabin, it’s quite dusty but clean otherwise. Big recommendation to go to grimes winery down the road. We will be back to try the bbq around the corner. Great stay!

Loved our stay and was sorry we had only stayed one night. Very well-equipped quaint and cozy cottage in a very pretty setting. Surprised to find something like this so conveniently located. We’ll be back!

My husband and I enjoyed our time at the Kirkland cabin. It was a pleasant experience. Only 2 things that could use attention is the drafty door and some curtains or blinds on the backside and side area of cabin. Other than that, it was great! Rhonda Lester

How absolutely adorable is this cabin?? It was the perfect blend of rustic/old fashioned with a nice touch of modern.
The bedroom was SO warm and cozy every night and morning!
The nubs of homemade soap were a cute addition! There was a lot of care put into this place to make the stay welcoming and stress-free.

This rustic house was fun for my kiddo and relaxing for me. It was clean and had all the tools we needed to cook up breakfast in the morning.
My tip if staying in winter months - bring slippers!
