Loved staying here. The apartment was clean and big enough for our weekend in Chi. The neighborhood was great with plenty within walking distance. Easy access to the train to get where we needed to.

As a middle aged woman, I brought my nieces to Chicago to explore for the first time. I chose this location due to its proximity to the train, but now realize it is the BEST NEIGHBORHOOD!!!! It is a generational neighborhood, all the properties and businesses are owned by those who have lived here for generations. Authentic. And I felt so safe. Terrific restaurants nearby as well as the bucket-list venue, Thalia Hall. The bus stop is super close, and the train just 2 blocks. The unit was small but perfect for us. It was stocked nicely with coffee and a fridge that has filtered water, and this is great for weary travelers arriving late. Entry is seamless. I want to address some of the negative things I have read I the reviews: 1) The A/C will freeze you out. 2) There was no problem with noise from above, save a few footsteps here and there. 3) the toilet paper is only 1 ply which seems cheap but also, we chose this unit for affordability so... 4) the mattresses. Well, they are great for one person. Two people in the bed and there is a deep well in the middle. Someone is either on a high side or a low side. I think the owners may need to sleep in the beds now after some time has passed since they had good reviews on the mattresses. It would have been a perfect 5 star stay but the patio advertised did not have patio furniture to sit on. There was furniture out there but it was all covered up. Overall: this stay was fantastic. Very hospitable. Would absolutely stay again.

Brought my 2 sons (12&15) on a guys trip for 3 nights. The property was immaculately kept and provided easy access to locations we wanted to see. The owners were also very responsive to questions we had before and during our stay. I highly recommend the local Mexican restaurants like 5 Rabanitos Restaurante. Definitely would stay here again!

We were in town for a concert at the United Center. The place was great. Good location. Awesome little diner that’s a very short walk away. Easy to commute to the L-Pink Line. Made for a great weekend. We would definitely come back. Thanks again!

We had a really wonderful long weekend in Chicago, and this VRBO served as our home base. The location is fantastic. Very close to two train stations and in a vibrant and safe neighborhood. And less than half an hour to downtown, walking and waiting for the train included. We loved all the food options nearby and seeing the murals around. The Mexican Art Museum is also a must see and it's free! We really enjoyed the location.
In terms of the home itself, for three longtime best friends the close quarters isn't much of a problem. I do think it would be a squeeze to have any more than three people in the space though. Mostly just since there isn't a ton of seating. Other than that, it was cozy and served our purposes of sleeping and hanging out between activities. The only other thing was we woke up a few times in the morning due to footsteps upstairs. Wasn't really a huge deal since we had to get up anyway.
Overall, we had a great stay and the hosts were easy to communicate with. Would recommend!

The space was perfect for our trip. It was clean, exactly what we saw from the photos, comfortably fit my 3 friends and I, and the aesthetic of the place was cute (my sister loved the Frida art). Gabriel and Tina were great, we didn't see them but knew they were just a text/phone call away. They also left easy to follow instructions for checking in/out and gave recommendations for the local area. The local area is conveniently near the pink train line and across the street from a community park. Some good local eats and even a thrift/vintage shop nearby. We also got to check out the National Museum of Mexican Art which is just walking distance from their place and it's free! I would stay here again.
Thanks again for being great hosts! Hasta la proxima!

This small apartment is comfortable for two couples. Clean and well supplied. The Pilsen neighborhood was fun to explore and felt safe. Downtown Chicago is a short drive away. We very much enjoyed our stay. This location is just around the corner from the Nation Museum of Mexican Art. Don’t miss out on this art treasure trove.

Our stay went off without a hitch and was a great home base after spending our day being tourists. We went to Parkview Restaurant Grill every morning for breakfast and felt extremely welcomed with great food, coffee and company each day.
Wonderful place to stay!

This was the perfect “home base” for touristy stuff in Chicago. The teens were in one room and I had a room to myself. Perfect!

Close to downtown Chicago, a few short miles away. Gabriel was great to work with and very accommodating. The house was clean and very cozy. Parking was never a problem at the house. Make sure if you are going into downtown Chicago you prebook parking. We used "parkwhiz" to fine a garage that would fit our truck and prepaid. We would definitely stay at Gabriel's again!

Overall decent experience but the host fails to tell u they live upstairs and there is no partys, no being loud and they asked to not smoke on premesices not just inside.... So basically ur privacy is a question but everything went fine i smoked up on The sidewalk jus to be courteous visited the local dispensary b4 i left and rolled my purchases inside b4 i left... Now they are trying to charge me the 250 smoking fee after i went out my way to go out and walk the block when i smoked just to be courteous!!!

Gabriel's property was great, very clean, great neighborhood and location. A block from the bus stop so getting around the city was easy. We enjoyed our weekend in Chicago. Would absolutely stay there again.

The location was nice to be right outside of the city. Also a huge bonus they gave us parking permits since we drove our car from Ohio. It was a small but cozy apartment perfect for 4 people. The only downside I would say was the air conditioning was ok. We had the air on 69 degrees and it still felt very warm during the night. Also the inside of the fridge needed to be wiped down and the mirrors in bathroom and bedroom. But overall it was a great stay for the price. They had great communication and were very kind. The recommendation for La Lunas was wonderful. Great authentic Mexican food. It’s a 9 minute drive from the place. If you stay here I highly recommend it. Their checkout process was also very simple and relaxed. Thanks Gabriel and Tina!

Had everything we needed! Living area for the wife and I to chill in at night and separate bedrooms for our son. and us. EASY access to the train, grocery store, liquor, pizza joint and Duncan. Would definitely stay again. Neighborhood was nice. Lots of Halloween decorations so lots of families. Thanks!

I'm happy about the location of this property, just a short walk to the Pink line station going to downtown. Neighborhood is safe, quiet, parking is available and restaurants within walking distance. Uber is a bit of a problem bec the GPS tells them to go to 18th STREET instead of 18th pl so you just have to tell the driver that. Communication with Gabriel is great. Heating was nice. The bed foam/mattress in one of the rooms is not that comfortable, it's worn out I think that's why it's not an even surface. We stayed for 4 nights and it's a great option if you want to stay outside of downtown area.

Friend and I stayed here for a quick Chicago getaway. Not far from Midway, downtown, and Michigan Ave, not far at all from the L and easy access for Uber and Lyft. Just a couple of notes. Family lives upstairs and we could hear them early in the mornings and once at 3am. I didn't think I was a light sleeper, but at times it seemed like there was a herd of cattle living in the space above. The furniture probably could be updated. We wanted to spend our last night just hanging out after a day of shopping and watch some TV. The couch cushions and the cushions in the chair have lost all support, so they weren't very comfortable.
Place was clean, definitely felt safe. And they don't go crazy with check out rules and requirements. Would also suggest bringing your own toilet paper, the 1 ply is crap :)

The location of this house is perfect and it’s just as charming as shown! Travel time to any “must see” on your list is close and convenient. Gabriel was super attentive and made sure we had everything we needed.

Are stay was fantastic and perfect myself, my husband, and our teenager. Clean and beds were comfy. Location was prime, just a short walk to the rail where there was a coffee shop that we visited every morning (it’s at the train station). The pink line took us right where we needed to go. Check in was easy and hosts sent an email with lots of recommendations for local restaurants and things to do. Great stay, we will try to stay here again next time we are in town!

My friend and I stayed here for two quick nights to see a festival. Definitely glad we chose here instead of a hotel. Very clean, spacious, lovely. Thank you!
