About this villa rental
This wonderful rural villa for rent in traditional Mallorcan style is located in the suburb of Alaró, a picturesque village located in a quiet valley on the south Serra de Tramuntana – a mountain range that was awarded World Heritage Status by UNESCO. When passing by its cobblestone narrow streets and enjoying ancient architecture you can "go back in time" up to the Medieval centuries. Moreover, here you can find a wide range of charming restaurants which invite you to enjoy wonderful Mallorcan cuisine. And the surroundings are destined for lovers of hiking as they offer a lot of walking trails.
Getting to the house by a private palm-lined path you start feeling relaxed and calm. The authentic wooden entrance door invites you to the spacious hall that leads to a cozy rest area with fireplace, ample living room with lounge area and dining table for 10 persons overlooking the garden, fully equipped kitchen with wood-burning BBQ, the first en-suite bedroom with double bed and a bench by the window perfect for reading, and another 2 bedrooms (one with double bed and another with 2 individuals) that share a bathroom. Walking up the stairs we found another spacious ensuite bedroom with a double bed and one more bedroom with a sofa bed.
This villa is upgraded and refurbished but at the same keeps having a lot of character thanks to its rustic style which was totally conserved since all the authentic Mallorcan details were carefully restored during the works: a chapel in the entrance, natural stoned walls, and arches, wooden ceiling beams, wrought-iron handrails, lamps, furniture and accessories, and much more.
Among other facilities, there are TV, WIFI, DVD player, fans, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, and much more.
This wonderful rustic property is located on an extensive plot of 97.000 m2 with a lot of oranges, palm, and olive trees, a 10x6 m saltwater swimming pool surrounded by a sun terrace with sunbeds, and a lawn perfect for sunbathing and outdoor activities. From this area as from almost all parts of the house, you may enjoy impressive views over the Tramuntana. Another benefit of the house is a huge covered porch with a summer kitchen and dining area overlooking the pool area and the mountains, an outdoor shower, and a lot of outdoor rest areas. And the lovers of sport and active rest will appreciate an outdoor ping-pong table.
This villa benefits from a secluded location and at the same time has a very good connection: the town Alaró is just 800 meters where you have a big supermarket, greengrocer shops, restaurants and cafes, and all necessary amenities. Playa de Muro, one of the largest and most beautiful beaches of Mallorca, with a long promenade and a lot of beach restaurants and clubs, is located within 25 minutes by car. And, of course, on the radio for 15-20 minutes, we can visit plenty of picturesque villages and towns which make us fall in love with them at first sight.

Enjoyable stay
Villa Son Guinyol is a beautiful traditional building with a huge amount of space both inside and out. The pool area is lovely. During an exceptionally hot week (38 degrees) the lack of air conditioning made sleeping uncomfortable even with the fans provided. The rest of the stay was better with a breeze.
Kitchen is small but well equipped but no kettle. Lots of different seating areas for dinner.
10 minute walk into the village - various bars, restaurants, supermarket and small Saturday market in the Square. Lots of festivities in the village around mid August due to The Assumption of Mary celebrations.
Victor, the handyman,was very helpful.
