About this house rental
Hummingbird Holler is a 3 bedroom 1 bathroom home in a stunning 5 acre setting (no hot tub). The best part is we are close to everything. Old Man's Cave, Rockhouse, Conkle's Hollow, Cantwell Cliffs, Tar Hollow State Park, and even Grandma Faye's are all very close! Forget something? The grocery store is just up the road in Laurelville or Kroger is in Logan.
Hill Willie's Hideaways, LLC has tried to make this feel like home by providing internet (poor quality, but the only option), DirecTV in the master and living room on 50" and 65" TVs, and a land line. There is an Onkyo stereo that you can bluetooth and enjoy your own music (Just please keep it down after 10 for the neighbors). Karaoke Machine for more fun!
We have a huge kitchen with gas range, dishwasher, microwave, 2 coffee makers (Keurig w/pods and one that grinds your beans), complete dinner set and more!
Feel like grilling out? We have provided a gas grill! There is even a picnic shelter to sit and enjoy your fresh grilled goods down by the creek! Afterwards, relax by the fire and have some s'mores! We have a 7x10 concrete block patio by the fire pit!
The spacious master bedroom boasts a King size bed and two dressers. The second bedroom offers a queen, and the third has a set of bunk beds with a trundle bed. You can bring the whole family! The large dining room table seats 6 easily and we have extra chairs. We even have a washer and dryer for you to use.
Sitting on either of the two porches or inside with the windows open, you can hear the sounds of the small creek that lines the property. We added a 600lb capacity tree swing right by the creek in the big maple tree. You are free to roam the woods as the property lines are clearly marked by both driveways and flags in the woods. There is a short trail that goes up the back hill between the garage and the house and comes out by the shooting range. As time goes on, we will be expanding these hiking trails.
At the far end of the property you will find a shooting range if you want to exercise your second amendment rights. During the shut down, we built and installed a new shooting table for either right or left hand shooters at the 25 yard area. There are no plinking type targets to avoid ricochet and injuries.
We also added a 6 ft x 6ft dry wood storage rack. We will be harvesting wood from the property for you and try to keep it stocked.
In the spring and summer of 2020, we transplanted 1045 new perennial flowers and hostas around the property. We will continue to work on the property and listen to our guests. We added non-stick cookie sheets and oven pans after one suggestion. We added the tree swing after another.
Hummingbird Holler got it's name from the several seasonal hummingbirds that visit each year. We put out at least 7 feeders a year to make sure you will get to experience such a fun and interesting bird. If you see that a feeder is empty, we put more juice in the upper left cabinet.
Have kids? We have a high chair booster seat combo and an additional booster seat. Also just added just before 2020 could end, we put in a new Bryant furnace. We installed central air conditioning April 2021.
You can spot Hummingbird Holler from a good distance as we have 2 of our signature pink concrete deer marking the driveway.
In our first year of business in 2020, we decided to address the crawlspace issue and had The Basement Authority come out to make sure you are safe. Check out the picture of what is below! It is amazing!
Escape from the city and get out and take in our fresh air! We have an isolated location for you and your family on 5 acres but it feels like so much more!
In February 2023 we added a whole house backup generator!!! It has been used a lot this year so far! Don't rent a place unless it has backup power otherwise you might not have water either!
And November brought a renovated bathroom. Hopefully 2024 brings a new master bathroom!

We absolutely loved our 1 night stay at hummingbird holler. Wish we could’ve stayed longer, but we were coming back from weeklong vacation in West Virginia And just needed to stop off for the night. We had heard good things about the Hocking Hills area and decided to stop for a day, do some hiking, and stay nearby. Enjoyed our night at the house playing on the grounds outside and enjoyed a bonfire under the stars. Very clean, comfortable and well appointed. Would certainly stay again if we ever come through the area.

The property was lovely and quiet. Like a home away. Location close to all the Hocking Hills hiking places. With many food allergies, we were able to cook all breakfasts and suppers, carried our lunches. We spent some time one evening at the house and had a campfire. Lovely visit. Highly recommend.

Had a great time at this lovely home! It really is a “home” which was great for our family with young kids. They loved the creek and the swings. When the power went out, the generator came on and ran the whole house! Love that the owners invested in that. Especially with no cell service, we would have been nervous with no power and no wi-fi. Thanks again!

The cabin was very comfortable and clean. Check in/out was very easy. We appreciated the simplicity of check out and not having a laundry list of things to do. The kids loved playing in the creek and on the swings and we had a great family karaoke night before we left! The location is within 10-15 minutes of all the major hikes and only ~20 minutes to Logan if you need anything major for your stay. We really enjoyed sitting on the porch in the mornings and watching the hummingbirds that seem to be EVERYWHERE!! Overall a fantastic stay and we can't wait to come back!

Our second time staying and by far our favorite place. Close to everything you want to see in Hocking Hills.Plenty to do around the house when your done with hiking. We took advantage of the rifle range and the long yard for frisbee with our dog. Inside they have it set up really nice too. Kitchen is dialed in and the family room very comfortable. Thanks for a great time.

Clean, everything you need. Target shooting a huge plus! Firewood galore included. Can't imagine staying anywhere else when I come back to the area! Thanks to the owners!

This is a great home to stay in, and located in a beautiful setting. The property is very well maintained and feels like home. Everything you need and more! My teenage boys had a blast in the onsite creek. It was so nice to find such a great place that we could bring our two cocker spaniels as well. They felt right at home and had plenty of yard to check out. The location was a good mid point for hiking, and the drive into the property is breathtaking. If we ever go to the area again, we’d definitely stay here!

Our family spent 4 days at Hummingbird Holler, and we loved it! Location, and amenities were great but the property features and host made this vacation rental excellent. We couldn’t have asked for more. Thanks for a wonderful trip, already looking forward to the next time

This was our swcond time staying at this property, and it was even better than we remember it being the first time. There was ample indoor space in case it rained, but we were blessed with beautiful weather and spent most of the time outside. The property was enjoyed by all (especially the dogs), and it is a short drive to all of the best hiking spots and trails in the area. We'll definitely be back again!

We loved our visit to Hummingbird Holler! The house was perfect for our family of 5. We loved the extra space to run around, and enjoyed the fire pit as well. The inside is neat and decorated very well, giving us a fun place to return to after hiking. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen very nice. Kevin was very quick in responses to questions. All in all an excellent stay!

This is a great location for exploring the Hocking Hills area. House was perfect for 3 adults but would easily be good for a family or 3 couples. Clean, a great front porch, low traffic road, and beautiful grounds.

Very quiet house in the vicinity of all the area state parks. Roomy and well equipped. Our stay was very pleasant and calm for the weekend

Cabin was clean, cozy, and the property had everything we were looking for in a quick getaway. Will definitely stay again!

The house was very comfortable/homey. The quietness of the property was amazing! There was so much room! The owners have put a lot of thought into providing extras to make the stay very special, for example, firewood for the firepit and a karaoke machine for entertainment. My husband and I visited with our small dog.

This property is beautiful and in a wonderful place. Trees, hills, birds signing. So quiet. Very clean and everything you need is there including corn hole game equipment. Groceries are close by and Kevin couldn't have been nicer. My dog fell in love with the place and had as much fun as we did. Read the bio. It's well worth it. You can see the quality of the folks managing this property when you do.

Beautiful scenery! Kevin was more than helpful with all my questions. Everything you’ll need is here. Had a great time and very relaxing property. It’s so with the money. Very affordable.

We had a wonderful stay! We loved staying here and had a variety of entertainment to enjoy. We had fun playing in the creek, using the swing, karaoke machine, and exploring the property! We also enjoyed exploring a couple different trails that were only 10-20 minutes away. The property owners have great communication as well.

We spent a few days here for our kids’ spring break. Despite the rain, we had a great time.
It’s close proximity to Hocking Hills State Park (15-20 minutes away) and dined at a couple of places in Logan, which was about 20 minutes away.
The kids had fun playing in the creek and using the swing. They also enjoyed the shooting range. There was a nice covered porch to watch the rain.
The house was stocked with everything we needed and everything inside was very nice.
I would recommend this place to our family and friends.

I came here for the 1st time 2 years ago with my mother and a friend
As soon as i seen the property and the house i knew it would be a great place to bring my grandsons. This time i brought my daughters and there boys. We did several hikes, but the boys would have been happy never leaving the house. They played on the swings and in the creek everyday.
The house had everything we needed . Hope we get to come back in the future🙂

The house is very clean, comfortable, and has everything that you need. It looks just like the pictures and you won’t be disappointed. If you are bringing your dog, they even supply a large dog bed and some toys! The location is great. It’s only about 15 minutes away from Old Man’s cave and Ash Cave. Clear Creek Metro park is also near by. It was really nice to be able to go during the week when it wasn’t crowded and then have a short drive “home”. There is a grocery store about 10 minutes away. My 10 year old’s favorite part of the trip was the little stream on the property! He caught (and released) minnows, crayfish, salamanders, and a frog! The flowers were just starting to come up when we were there. I bet this place is just stunning when all the leaves in are and everything is creek. We didn’t get around to seeing Rock House or Cantwell Cliffs so we might be back next year! Thank you for sharing your home with us!

We were so excited to stay here and definitely enjoyed our time! It is such a cozy home and is so close to hocking hills that it was a perfect location:) The small creek that runs in their backyard was so pretty and made the morning SO relaxing! Go and stay here!! The owners of the property were GREAT at communicating with us and made us feel so welcomed!

Stayed with our two hounds. Good spot for them to enjoy some good smells. Getting there was interesting with the narrow, hilly roads but overall a good stay.

A weekend getaway as a couple with our dog. It was perfect, with thoughtful touches like a dog bed and dog toys. The bed was comfy, love the big screen tvs, stereo/sound bars, and camera system. We saw that the host said the wifi might be terrible but it worked great for us, even allowing us to stream on our Firestick!
We hope to go back!

Very clean and spacious home, perfect for 4-6! It snowed when we first arrived, making for a picturesque winter weekend getaway with the family. The firepit and firewood kept us warm outside despite the cold temperatures. We had a lot of fun putting together a puzzle and playing Hocking Hills-opoly! The kids loved exploring the little creek and hiking up the back hillside: 235 ft elevation gain! Thank you to our host for sharing such a lovely home. We definitely recommend.

We had a great few days away. Kevin was extremely responsive and the house and area were beautiful. Highly recommend this location if you are looking to unwind.

Gorgeous. Quiet. Peaceful. Great winter weekend getaway. Already planning to go back in the warmer weather to actually get to utilize the firepit and that swing! It was really cold and wet when we were there, so much of our time was spent inside with the fireplace, and viewing the outdoors. We did find a slice of time to utilize the shooting range, which is just perfect for target practice. The Karaoke mic was broke so no review.
It feels like the middle of nowhere, however, you can be in Logan in about 20 minutes. I don't know about the others(just 2 of us) but that king size bed is DEVINE. Only bummer with bigger group would be one bathroom, but it's a small inconvenience. Lots of towels and the water is hot. Bring bean coffee to use the grinding coffee maker or prepare to be very patient with the one serve Keurig. The gas stove is amazing, fridge is very cold. Stocked with pans and dishes. Kitchen was A++
Entry and driveway is great. Plenty of room and wide for bigger rigs. Would definitely recommend 4wd in heavy winter, there is quite a little hill leaving that could be slick. Camera on driveway and pretty sure there is a ring camera at entry as well; great for security. Easy key entry with no interaction with owner. Very private.
You will not be using your phone! ZERO cell service. (we had Verizon/Tmobile) There is also NO wifi or internet. None. I know, it's tragic. But also not why we're there. There is Direct TV with great service. And a land line.

What a great spot! Everything is within 10 mins like all the major hikes. The house was tidy and cozy. As soon as we walked in we felt at home. The fireplace heats it up soooo nicely. We felt we had everything we needed. Can't wait to visit again! Highly recommend going during Thanksgiving the place was dead! We had most of the trails to ourselves!

This cabin was spotlessly clean, the beds were comfortable, plenty of hot water, fully equipped kitchen. Little touches- comfy sofas, good lighting (we like to read), plenty of games. The karaoke machine was a hit with the kids! Outside a really nice firepit and picnic shelter with tables and party lights. Property was conveniently located to all the popular Hocking Hills sites. Would definitely recommend!!!
