The view on sound side of the property is magnificent! The home is clean and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked and has everything you need to prep and prepare meals. We grilled most evenings. The king bed was comfortable and we slept well. We enjoyed being able to launch our paddle board and kayak from the sound. It’s a short easy walk. We will return.

This is home is absolutely gorgeous. The view is amazing. It is in need of cosmetic repairs. However the home is so pretty. Location is nice.

The house is great, lots of room for everyone and the layout is great. This was our second year at this house, and we'll be back for another stay! Love the view from the large windows! Great location near the end of the island and no crowds! The swim spa/hot tub makes this house complete!

This is a great property!
We really enjoyed the hot tub - it’s really big!
It’s also in a great location for access to the public beach.

This house was the perfect choice for our weekend getaway! The layout of the home leaves plenty of room for multiple families to feel comfortable, and the spacious decks have gorgeous water views from both sides! We enjoyed being able to walk to both the bay and the beach, and relaxing in the hot tub when we got home. The hot tub is big enough for our kids to swim in while we enjoyed watching the sunset and cooking dinner, and the large sliding glass door to the porch meant they were never out of sight!
The floor (as mentioned in previous reviews) has been replaced and no longer has soft or weak spots. We loved the extra touches the home offered like latching gates to block stairs (perfect for kids!), a well stocked kitchen with many choices of pots and pans, a large walk-in master shower, plenty of games and books for entertainment as well! You can tell this is someones loved beach vacation home that they have chosen to share with other vacationers. The location was perfect -- a short drive to restaurants, close to beach & bay, and a little slice of paradise we got to call ours for the weekend!

Beautiful home with a great view of the ocean! We loved the location, the hot tub and the slider door in the living room. A few things to be aware of is there is very minimal amount of supplies and the spot with the rotting floor is dangerous. We had to move furniture over the area so no one would step on it.

I would not recommend the house be let again until owners do some maintenance. Walkin shower door leaks and has black mold starting. Flooring in dinning area very weak, dips and sinks as you walk over it heading in to access to west side bedrooms. Flooring in other areas mushy. Whole house sways in high wind.

The layout of this house is great for two families of four. Nice kitchen and bathrooms. Amazing deck and hot tub. Very close to the west beach.

We had a wonderful stay at this home!! It had beautiful views, a wonderful hot tub, and it was so nice to hand access to both the bay side (private beach area) and the gulf side. The only negative thing was the cleanliness of the kitchen area, pots, pans, and utensils. Everything else was perfect.

This house is the perfect small town beach “country” location. We love that is quiet, not on top of others, and you have your own beach and hot tub. The hot tub is great for kids who don’t sit still and want to keep swimming while you want to relax out of the sun and read a book or cook dinner. It’s not in the pictures but its a great size. The house had everything you need to make it through the week- including pots, pans, oven dishes, a crockpot, salt and pepper, measuring cups, and coffee maker (no toaster). They had tupperware for leftovers too. Stopping on our way down for groceries at a walmart for a grocery pick up worked well now for the second time. There were 4 beach towels there, pods for doing laundry, and tablets for the dish washer. This was also very nice since the humidity didn’t allow anything to dry, but we could stick it in the dryer. There were some sand toys and one beach chair that complemented what we brought. The vacasa maintenance guy was very nice and pulled in as we did. The master king bed is very stiff but who wants to lay in bed longer than they have to when they get to make coffee and soak up the beach views. We enjoyed walks in on the gulf side and relaxing on the sounds side. We brought the kids scooters and didn’t even use them as all they wanted to do was jump the waves on our walks instead. This was our second trip down, different house and liked this one better. We will be back!

House was not in good shape no hand grab's in the shower's slippery shower pan's fridge not working flooring comming apart major trip hazard would not be renting this home again.

The location was truly perfect, had views from the front of the house and the back. We were able to relax so much! The hot tub was spectacular. I had thought this had mainly gulf views, which it does and it’s across the street and there are other homes but you can still hear the waves crashing and see them. The back view of the bay was beautiful.
The home itself had normal wear and tear, but there were cleanliness. With dishes/utensils, I had to wash most things before using them. The master bed was extremely uncomfortable for my personal preference; also, I went to use the coffee pot and the inside where the water reservoir is, was filled with dirt and had floaters in the water, and the machine itself where coffee pours from was covered in coffee stains. I went to grab a blanket off another bed to sit outside and it had stains on it.
Besides those inconveniences, we truly enjoyed our stay. The island is slow and most things at night close by 8, so I would plan on cooking at the home! There are not a ton of food options, but what we did have was good!
Minus the cleanliness, We would stay at the home itself again! Location was close to the public beach. They also had a book of resources of where to eat and things to do, that was awesome!

Wonderful house with lots of amenities and a fabulous hot tub!! Plenty of room for our family of 7. Kitchen was well stocked and we had plenty of towels including beach towels for the hot tub

Beautiful House. Great location. Deck hot tub amazing. Plenty of seating on the deck to over look the beach. Access to 2 beaches was really nice (direct access to the bay side beach and then walk across the street to access the gulf side beach). Multiple spots in the floor were soft and possible trip hazards.

Great overall experience! There was a place in the middle of the house floor that we were sure someone was going to fall through, but we didn’t 😊. House decor was great! Location was wonderful! New hot tub on the back deck was a bonus surprise. Wonderful bay and gulf views and access.

We stayed here with 8 adults & 2 babies- it was such a great spot for us! We loved how it’s directly across the street from the beach so it was great for coming and going from the house to the beach. It had plenty of dishes and cookware, which was great for us since we cooked many meals here! We were appreciative of touches for small children- like books, spoons, a high chair & a few toys. We loved hanging out on the back patio- seriously so relaxing! The house is towards the end of the island, which we really liked because it felt more private & less crowded. Many times we were the only family on the beach across from us.
The only concern we had was that when we went it seemed there were some repairs needing to be done. The floor was sagging quite a bit in a few areas of the house- but I’m sure the owners are aware & hopefully it will be fixed soon.
Overall, we really loved our time at Sandpiper Shores!

Good but missing a few things
The place was nice but were some things I would of liked or was miss informed about. They showed 2 bikes, assuming would come with the rental, but they were not there and besides some beach towels they didn't have outside/beach things. Then there was a hot tub but it was empty so we called to ask if we could fill it and they said no, we were not allowed to use it. Dish washer didn't work, and there was a lot of soft spots in the floor that was very worrisome.

First time to Dauphin Island. The house was very clean and the kitchen has everything you will need. Great Location Great House!

Very comfortable spot with great views
My family enjoyed out time at this property. Access from the property to the bay was convenient to launch kayaks. The views of the ocean and bay are perfect. You can catch sunrise and sunset from the porches.
Be aware that as of 10/8/21 there is still ongoing clean up from the hurricane. There were 10ft tall sand piles along the road with an opening for this property. We parked on fairly soft sand in front of the property. 4WD was helpful for us.
We contacted the property manager by email to confirm that there were beach chairs available in the house. They said that there were chairs so we didn't bring our own. When we got there, there were no chairs. We got in touch with the property manager again. They returned our call on the last day we were there to apologize and suggest that the chairs were lost in the hurricane. Not a huge deal...but slightly irritating after we specifically called to confirm.
Overall this is a great spot. Very convenient to the West End Public Beach which was nearly empty when were were there. The gulfside beach access for this property is several streets to the east and NOT directly across the street.

Girls Trip
We will definitely be returning for another stay at this property! It was perfect, stocked well, clean and beautifully decorated. The views were amazing from the front and back decks, location was perfect. The gulf was just a quick walk across the road. Loved every minute, we had the best time. Thank you so much for sharing your property with others.

Sandpiper Shores
This house was perfect for our extended family vacation. The kitchen is fully stocked, the views are amazing and you couldn't ask for a better location short walk across the street to the gulf or out the back porch to the bay. We would definitely rent this house again!!

All about spending quality time with family!
Great house! Not on gulf front but just short walk across the road to beach. Loved doors that open up to expand living space to back porch. Great views! No neighbors really close so lots of privacy. Only two recommendations. Shower door needs adjusting so it will open and close freely and need to provide dish cloths and dish towels for kitchen. Still give it a 10!

First time to dauphin island it was great and the house was perfect. Can’t find one thing to complain about house was very clean and the family loved it

Beautiful Home
We had such a great time at this beautiful home! The house was bright and clean, and perfectly accommodated our group of 9. It was a one minute walk to cross the street and enjoy the beach. The only complaint would be that it needs a vacuum that will pick up sand a bit better, but that would hardly deter us from staying here again.

Beautiful home on the beach!
Looking forward to booking this again. Absolutely beautiful. We spent most of our time in the back yard. Small waves and tons of sea shells for the kids to find. And us too! The gulf across the street had very rough waves due to a storm but the kids liked getting hit by the waves. Look forward to next year. Trip ended to soon and had bad storms the last day. House was very clean.

Beautiful Stay!
The inside of the house was nicer than expected. The kitchen and some other areas have been updated. The house was pretty clean and smelled really nice. The location was great! There were plenty of linens and extra pillows for everyone but no beach towels to speak of. A couple things for improvement: the metal outdoor furniture was literally falling apart. The entire back of a chair fell out so there were metal shavings all over the deck. There were only two trash bags in the house. The outdoor shower didn’t work. There were no spices or basics but there was plenty of dishes/cookware. We also had to go buy more toilet paper. There were no rugs in the doorways to help capture sand. Overall- we were pleased with our stay.

Had good time
We had good time staying in this property. The house was clean as in the kitchen and bathrooms are cleaned good but the floors are very sandy. We had to clean it right away. Overall its a good property and better than the pictures actually.

Nicely updated
We enjoyed our stay on Dauphin Island. The interior of the house has been nicely updated and is very comfortable and cozy. I loved that it was a short walk to the West beach where the sunsets were amazing. The only negatives were that there was apparently some remodeling on the exterior and we found lots of nails in the sand where we were supposed to park. Also the dining table on the deck is rusted through and should be replaced.

Perfection!
This beautiful home far exceeded my expectations! There was a beautiful view from every angle. It was a blessing to have an ocean view from the front and the serene beauty of the sound out back. I can not wait to come back. The house is beautiful, the beds comfortable, and there are plenty of linens to go around. The kitchen is very well stocked and makes meal preparation a breeze. Sandpiper Shores has stolen my heart and quickly became our home away from home.

VACATION
THE HOUSE WAS GREAT!!!. THERE WAS PRIVACY, EXCELLENT VIEWS, PEACEFUL SETTING. BECAUSE OF THE STORMS, THE TIDE WAS UP, THEREFORE THERE WAS NO REAL BEACH BUT CLOSE ENOUGH TO ENJOY THE WAVES.

Beachy Keen
We enjoyed our stay! Only complaint, a house that sleeps 12, should have more towels and wash clothes. The other issues that were listed above, about the door lock, it has been fixed. The kitchen was decent, the living room was comfy, the beds were comfy. Overall, it was nice, just wish we had more towels and wash clothes. We actually bought a pack of white wash clothes, so there would be enough for everyone.

Beachy Keen @ Dauphin Island
We absolutely loved this house and its location. We mostly stayed to ourselves and enjoyed the beaches, both at the lagoon out the back door and across the street at the gulf coast. There were plenty of bedrooms for the 10 of us (especially helpful was the bedroom with 2 sets of bunk beds). The few locals that we did see and had to come into contact with, were so very nice, helpful and accommodating during this CoronaVirus. We can't wait to try other locations

Amazing Dauphin Island
Beachy Keen - We loved our 4 berm 2 bath house on the West End Lagoon side of the island, but with an easy walk or drive to the public swimming or across the road to the gulf. Next time we are going to try closer to town that was only 3.9 miles away.

COVID getaway
This was a perfect location to enjoy the beach while avoiding crowded areas. We rented kayaks and enjoyed sunsets & sunrises on the bay side, as well as swimming in the surf on the gulf side. Enjoyed lots of aquatic wildlife sitings. The flooring in the home is a little warped, which I worried could trip my in-laws, but everything was very clean and kept up well. We’d definitely visit again!

Good location...bad house
The house location is bat side and pretty close to west end beach. The house itself is extremely dated and really clean. We had some railings on both front and back porches that were loose. They advertised this as 2 King beds and they only have 1 King bed. This was a huge issues for my family and myself. The windows are very old and cloudy. We had exposed outlets without covers. A door knob broke and had my dad locked in bathroom for an hour . I could go on and on.

Beachy Keen
The property location was fantastic but the house itself needs work. The front door would not stay closed unless it was deadbolted, one of the bathroom doors would lock you in unless you left it cracked, the floors had not been properly cleaned & had soft spots through out. It also was very empty of home décor. It appeared that the owners had removed a lot of items to get ready for an upcoming sell. Hopefully the new owners will fix all the issues.

Total Privacy and Escape!
Great location- perfect for achieving privacy and solitude especially during these times of social distancing! The place had everything we needed to enjoy our getaway, cook meals, and space for our family. The house is a bit outdated with a few upgrades needed, however nothing that we weren’t able to look past and enjoy our getaway!
