The additional nightly fee for the optional 4th bedroom is $170 in low season, $200 in high season, plus the Hawaii tax.. It occasionally may not be available so please check before booking. Note that except for the bedrooms there is very little interior space. Please consider that in deciding whether this is a good fit for the size/composition of your group. The house is designed for outdoor living.

The middle level is available for guests with a separate entrance, It has three bedrooms, one with an ensuite bathroom, a second bathroom, wet bar where you can prepare food and a living room. With the three bedroom basic set, there are two bedrooms each with a king bed and the third bedroom with 2 bunk beds (total of 4 singles). The TV in the living room has premium cable service and internet, the others have internet access only. We have central air conditioning, with individual controlled diffusers in every room.

We have a covered, wrap around lanai of about 1,000 square feet. The views, both of the mountains and the ocean, are amazing (see photos). In season you can see the whales. This is a fairly bug free area being so close to the water, so you can enjoy this at night as well as in the day time – or in the rain. The property is surrounded by 6 foot rock wall for privacy. There is an automatic gate on the driveway, which is off Waimahaihai St..

Indoor meals area has a full set of cooking appliances, as well as a stove on the lanai. The primary dining area is on the lanai. There is also a barbecue area downstairs with dining tables. There is a washer and dryer, as well as a second set in the 4th bedroom. High speed internet is complementary.

We have plenty of bicycles so no need to rent those to get around. Two tandem and two single ocean kayaks and two stand up paddle boards (with life vests) are provided for guest use. Note that a liability waiver will need to be signed before use of the pool, bikes, SUPs and kayaks.

Our property is on the corner of Waimahaihai and Halama Street on a cul-de-sac and just two houses away from the wonderful Kalama Park, a spacious 36-acre beach park that has lots of stuff to keep the whole family active and entertained. Sports events, outdoor concerts and festivals often take place here. There's also lighted basketball and tennis courts, a roller skating rink, a 20,000-foot skateboard park, football, baseball and soccer fields and a giant playground for children. The waterfront here is also a favorite fishing spot of the locals. The beach park is a great spot for picnics, and you can sit and watch turtles cruise by. There are picnic tables, twelve pavilions, restrooms and showers.

We are one house away from the ocean so you can enjoy the cool breeze and the sounds of the surf. The property itself is professionally landscape with a pond with a waterfall and we are surrounded by flowering trees and plants. Sometimes it is just nice to watch the butterflies and dragonflies swoop all around. We are right across the narrow street from what we call “the World’s Smallest Beach”. This is great for launching your kayaks or whatever. There are also many other beaches within walking distance. If you are familiar with Halama Street, we are on the non-ocean front side of the street, though we have unobstructed direct ocean views.

Halama Street is a hidden ocean front oasis and the street is one of the area’s favorite walking routes. There are a half dozen beach access paths along the street with the larger beaches to the north end of the street. You can also work for miles from there on the sand to Maalaea. There are certain neighborhoods in Maui—many of them not so well known—that have retained their personalities through the years, even as Maui’s demographic and vibe have changed. Halama Street is such a neighborhood, and many of its residents have lived on the street for decades. There is a private security patrol on the street.

We are less than a 5 minute walk for the new movie theater, Starbucks. at least a dozen nice restaurants, the surf school, a great ocean walking path, craft and gift shops the Foodland store, and the Kihei Library.

Please note that we have a dog, and we live in the top floor above the area that is rented. This is not a safety issue at all, but anyone with significant allergies should understand this situation. The dogs is very friendly. You may occasionally encounter her in the yard, but we would always be walking her..

On the other end of the property, there is an Ohana that is rented long term to a quiet family. Their yard is separated from the BnB yard by the pond area and other fencing.

Please understand the whole property, inside and out, is non-smoking and no e-cigs.

Check in time is 3:00; check out time is 11:00. You MUST be out by 11:00 so it can be cleaned for the next occupant unless we have agreed to a late checkout in advance.

You are strongly encouraged to take the VRBO offered insurance for damages, lost equipment or really excessive cleaning required.

Overall, Mark tried to think of everything a family may need to get the most out of their stay in Maui. The space can accommodate 10, there are games galore, anything you can imagine for the beach, and the location is so convenient to the ocean and town. The welcome baskets were lovely. However, there are a few things that had we known, we would NOT have booked this location and we shared those concerns with Mark. 1. There is no FULL kitchen. There is a portable 3-burner induction cooktop and a toaster oven. It wasn't easy to cook meals for a family of 10 without a full kitchen. 2. There is full access to the rented 2nd level from the owner's 3rd floor level. A continuous stairwell is blocked by a shower curtain and a bungee cord. We felt very uncomfortable knowing they had access at any time. 3. The condition is not as represented. We expected the property to look like the photos. Perhaps it did 3 years ago when it was new, but it was more run down. The furniture looked like old IKEA dorm room furniture. There wasn't much effort to make sure that guests felt like they were on vacation, instead it was more like were old family guests that were lucky to have a place to stay on the island. 4. It was broom clean and had fresh linens and towels. It needs a serious deep-clean. We contacted VRBO, and continue to work with them. We made the most of our stay, but the family was disappointed because the 10 of us were there for a 50th wedding anniversary.

I rented the Halama house last week for 7 days. Me and my kids were traveling to meet up and were super excited to all be in Maui together. Upon entry I noticed the house didnt look clean. Didnt smell clean. The bathrooms were dingy. Years of dust and dirt had accumulated everywhere. I contacted the owner who lives in the floor above with his wife. Mark is very sweet. He came down immediately and after some negotiating agreed at his cost to pick up the tab for a cleaner of our choice. We found a company that could come the next day and with a crew of 3 spent six hrs cleaning the house. The negative is that we couldnt be in the house for our first day. Once clean the house was quite nice! White and brite. Not as big as it seems in the photos but spacious enough for a family of 6. There is a cool veranda to have dinners, view the ocean and relax in ample seating. Pool table and BBQ are downstairs. The pool is great. A fantastic park is next door great for walks/ runs and Kamaole Beach parks for swimming are 5 mins away along w Wailea more secluded beaches close by. There are pluses and minuses for having the owner real close. Mark was very responsive to any calls or questions. Great. His wife however was a different story. Very icy. Yelled at my daughter who had parked her car wrong. Also there is little insulation between floors and you can hear all their footsteps till late in the evening. We left the house very clean. All being said we enjoyed our stay and would recommend!

Our family had a wonderful time in Maui staying at Marks place. It was so nice to have us all under one roof with close proximity to shops, restaurants and the park. We walked the half block to the park every night to watch the sunset and the kids played soccer. Each morning we explored a new beach then returned for lunch and swimming in the pool. We loved being able to eat every meal on the lanai at a table that accommodated all 10 of us. Mark was very accessible as he and his wife live on the property but never intrusive. There were a few issues we encountered but Mark responded immediately to resolve them. We especially appreciated the umbrellas, boogie boards, snorkeling gear, chairs and the beach wagon to get them all to the water.

My family had a great time. Mark the owner was very responsive. He was really close by if anything came up. My oldest kids really enjoyed using the paddle boards. My grandsons learned to swim in the pool. Our entire family and friends, who came over for dinner enjoyed the lenai.

We had an incredible time at this property, it is right next to the beach and a beautiful park. Had eight adults and four children, used the bikes, the boards, the snorkel gear. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again! Amazing views from the wraparound deck. Such a convenient location to restaurants and shopping as well.

This place is perfect for a family group of 13 members. It is near the beach, different eating places, grocery store and other shopping places. It has kayaks and water boards that were easily transported by foot to the water access in less than five minutes. We did activities using these early in the morning when the water was calm. Although the owner lives on the third floor, he never bothered us. He just made sure that we had everything we needed. My children and grandchildren enjoyed their stay and wished they could go back to the same place given the chance to visit Maui again,
