The Laacher See in our Vulkaneifel is near the Maria Laach Abbey. It is the largest lake in Rhineland-Palatinate. The last eruption of the former Laacher volcano occurred about 13,000 years ago. Today, the Laacher See nature reserve is a paradise for those seeking relaxation and water sports enthusiasts!
The Nürburgring, the cathedral city of Trier with its historical Roman history and, in the further course of the Eifel, the border triangle with Luxembourg-Belgium are worthwhile excursion destinations.
Andernach - the Roman city on the Middle Rhine, over 2,000 years old, attracts visitors with the world's highest cold water geyser. You can reach the Namedyer Werth peninsula by ship: the water gushes from the earth to the sky at a height of more than 50 m.
