About this house rental
House upgraded in April 2023 on the water across from Sanibel Island at the end of Monroe Canal. Enjoy the awesome view from the deck overlooking the mangroves and water. Bring your boat, boat lift included. Launch the included kayaks, the bikes, or just kick back on the deck watching the boats and dolphins. Great fishing awaits you in the sound, or head out into the gulf for the really big catch. This property is at the end of a canal which greatly decreases your no-wake time navigating canals both going out and coming back in. Monroe Canal Marina boat ramp just up the canal.
You will find it very clean. Great WIFI throughout! 10% discount on rentals for 28 days or more.
Pine Island is more of a slow island style tempo than even the rest of western Florida. There are several bars and restaurants close by, but no high rise condos on Pine Island. The neighborhood is mostly seniors and families with grandchildren. Frequent visitors from the sea include dolphins right in front of the villa. Ample parking in the driveway for a boat trailer. Boat rentals and Golf Cart rentals available close by. Saint James City, is a street legal golf cart community! Incredible view at this price. Compare a final price quote with other properties, no cleaning fee, zero! There is a $100 pet fee.

We loved the view out the back. We had a Christmas boat parade and a Christmas golf cart parade come right by the house. Had some issues with the boat lift when we first arrived but the owner had a lift company come out right away and do some maintence on it. Thank you Robert for a wonderful month.

A wonderful stay at this property once again! Thank you! See you next year!

We had a wonderful vacation in St James City. The boat lift was great. The view was great. The house was set up perfectly for 2 couples because of the split plan. King beds would be preferred over the full/queen beds. We will stay here again. Loved it.

This house is simply amazing. The views from the balcony are breathtaking. You can catch fish right from the back dock never have to go anywhere it’s located on the end of the canal, which makes it easy to get in and out. The house was fantastic like a fisherman’s dream.

This place is just amazing. Gorgeous views. You have great sunset and sunrises. It's good to see that the island is rebuilding after Hurricane Ian. Will be renting again soon!

Enjoyed staying at the house very much. Very convenient for boat lovers.

My brother and I stayed here for a week to have quick access to inshore fishing and had an amazing time.
The listing is accurate. Everything is modern, cold A/C, comfortable beds, big washer/dryer, plenty of outdoor chairs, etc. Did not have any issues during our stay.
Will definitely be booking this place again.

This was our first time at this property..the view, the location was wonderful. We come to fish so the easy in and out with the boat was a plus, also it is a stilt home but there was a lower space that made getting equipment on the boat easy and efficient The house was cozy and comfortable and had all we needed. It was great to see Pine Island and St James City starting to come back. We have been coming there for years and unfortunately some of the other properties we had used are no longer there, Fishing was great and we truly enjoyed ourselves

This was just what we were hoping for! Nice place and an amazing view! Loved watching the boats, birds and dolphins! Pine Island was the perfect blend of old Florida and central location. We enjoyed becoming familiar with it! Even though the devastation we saw was heartbreaking, it was tempered by the energy and enthusiasm put into rebuilding. We can’t wait to come back and see the progress!

The house was very clean and well appointed. The deck was great for relaxing and watching the parade of boats go by.

Let me start by saying the owner is great and the lines of communication were great in the beginning. The house is in a BEAUTIFUL spot and was very comfortable. It's definitely a diamond in the rough...it was only one of a handful of homes that wasn't destroyed on it's street & surrounding areas. Sad to see how much devastation Ian left in it's wake! With that being said . they get a free pass for not mentioning they hadn't replaced their oven. We purchased take and bake pizzas, groceries to make a Christmas dinner and even items to bake gingerbread cookies ... only to learn we only had a small toaster oven. We donated the items to a grateful family and infused the local economy by eating out a lot.
Now to the NEGATIVE about our stay. Richard(owner) had to use his last choice for a property manager due to his regular manager having an emergency. The stand in manager we were stuck with was not only unpleasant, but we also had items go missing. Because of the kitchen issue we had to find a different rental property and had the task of moving from one place to another. Due to the inconvenience Richard knew we might be a bit delayed in checking out, but didn't foresee an issue. He didn't mention that Cindy (acting mgr) doesn't like concessions. She arrived at the house ahead of the normal 10am check-out time and was relentless at expressing her displeasure of an extended check-out. My poor husband was trying to grab our remaining items while she stood over him to reprimand him for not being out by 10; regardless of the fact arrangements were made for a slightly delayed check-out (we were out by 10:30) Shortly thereafter we realized items were left behind in the chaos, and I reached out to Cindy to let her know and to make her aware that 2 delayed Christmas packages were also set to be delivered late in the day. She let me know she found our items and the packages arrived. She told us not to enter the house, but would leave them outside for us. When we arrived, our items were missing. I contacted Cindy & was told if they were missing it was our fault since we left them behind to begin with. She said she left our items in front of the garbage cans in a white garbage bag. WHO DOES THAT in a Post-Ian area when people are digging through trash for treasures. I called Richard with a threat of police & asked him to view his Ring footage...3 days later I got a call. Someone thought it was garbage, but miraculously it was back at the house minus a few items

Words can’t explain how beautiful this home and placement of the house on the canal for amazing sunrise and Sunsets and quick access to open water. It was a definite plus to be able to keep our boat out of the water when not in use with the boat lift. The place was extremely clean and comfortable. We highly recommend it and we will definitely be back again.

A wonderful repeat visit
What more can I say - we absolutely love this property and Pine Island. The house is immaculate and so well located - how can you beat the view? We are paddle boarders and it’s a perfect location for heading right out into calm waters with no wake zones. Check in is a breeze and the property manager is always readily available to answer any questions. As small town Floridians who live about two hours inland- this is a very special place to relax and enjoy a taste of Old Florida on the water. We will return!

Great place with fantastic waterfront view!
My husband, myself, and our dog had a spectacular vacation in Saint James City at this home. It had everything we needed and so much more. We absolutely loved the area and the house. Holly , the property manager, was always available to answer any questions or offer any help you might need during your stay. Check in and out were very easy. The boat lift was great! We had our son and friends stay with us a couple of days and they loved it as well. The home is extremely comfortable. It was one of the best vacations we’ve ever had and we vacation a lot at some pretty nice places. We’ll definitely be returning back here as often as we can.

Great stay!
Had a wonderful stay with our family of four. House was very clean and had everything we needed. Boys enjoyed the kayaks and bikes. Loved the location at the end of the canal. We rented a boat during our stay which was really fun. We went out to Coya Costa island a few times, North Captiva and also Cabbage Key. Holly was extremely helpful with all our questions and had great recommendations. I also enjoyed daily walks in the neighborhood. Would definitely recommend!
