Blue Haze is in a great location a few steps from the coast and in a quiet and historic setting - the mature trees on the estate are just astounding. The gardens, drive and house provide plenty of space for grown ups, younger folk and dogs - a great spot for a week or more of sea air and country expeditions.

A spacious and secure property in a stunning location next to the sea. Customer service and communication was excellent.

The premises are spacious but in need of some routine maintenance. Whilst being scrupulously clean, some lights were not working, a toilet seat wouldn't stay upright, a toilet ballcock assembly was broken, there was no shower screen around a shower in the bath, guttering was blocked in several places, brambles in the garden were cut back but the cuttings were left in and on bushes, there were no full sets (for 6 people) of crockery or glasses, and more than one set of front door keys would be useful as not everyone goes out or comes back together.
I cannot recommend this property in its present condition as far as condition and value for money is concerned, but for a relatively small outlay and some careful thought, the premises could easily go from 3 to 5.

Beautiful beach front house
Our family of 5 stayed here for 5 nights and we really enjoyed the house. I am originally from this area so I knew exactly where I was going. Considering the other reviews, it’s an older house which certainly has its few quirks but it certainly doesn’t deter from the overall amazing experience of tranquility, peaceful atmosphere and breeze from the beach. House is very spacious which was great for the 5 of us. We also hosted our English family to a meal there in the dining room and on the outside patio. It was truly very comfortable even hosting additional 15 people!

This is a lovely house with plenty of space. In line with most rental properties though it could do with general maintenance.

A holiday home that needs care and attention
Location was excellent - the beach very close and the estate very quiet.
However, we were disappointed that nobody had noticed the head of the walk-in shower was broken. We didn't arrive at the property until the early evening, so we could not contact anyone about this until the following Monday (we could not truly classify this as an 'emergency' although it was very annoying). Having contacted the agents, the problem was subsequently rectified.
The bed in the bedroom with the walk-in shower was not up to standard - it was uncomfortable (2 beds pushed together), no mattress protector or mattress topper, both of which could have helped, and the duvet cover and pillow cases had definitely seen better days.
There was a lack of suitable cooking utensils - only 2 saucepans for a property catering for up to 7 guests? And if there was a teapot, we could not find it.
In the main sitting room, there were small nails sticking up from several of the wooden floor tiles. I spent some time hammering these back in after one of our grandchildren caught her foot on one.
This could be a lovely holiday home but needs work to bring it up to an acceptable standard.

Great house fab location
A house in a wonderful location and just by a beach where dogs are welcome. The only problem in the house is the water pressure in the showers, other than that it’s a brilliant place to stay

Perfectly located, comfortable house.
Blue Haze is a spacious, comfortable, unfussy house, and perfectly located - for us, anyway. The house itself is in need of some tlc in most rooms, and a thorough clean in places, but the beds were comfortable with clean bedlinen and the lounge had plenty of space and comfy seating for five of us to relax. The rear garden needs a good tidy-up and both the garden gate and the front gate are in urgent need of repair. We'd stay again, but mainly because of the house's easy proximity to family.

In need of some TLC
The property is roomy and spacious and the both the property and all the linen were very clean. The location is in a very peaceful residential area and ideal for some P &Q . Also the staff were very helpful when we had come out without the front door key .
However one bath mat shared between three bathrooms is not ideal. The house could do with some TLC and the garden is sadly lacking in care .

Feel disappointed and badly let down. We've booked with Henry Adams for years, what has gone wrong?
Two days before our arrival date we were asked to arrive an hour later so that the premises could be made Covid safe. However, the house had not been cleaned since the previous tenants and was in an appalling state. Given the pandemic this was exceptionally troubling. Three cleaners were dispatched, one stayed a short while and the other two spent a couple of hours clearing up the mess and trying to make at least one bedroom ready for us to use, clean the bathrooms etc., do their best with the kitchen, and hoover most of the food debris and feathers in the sitting room. Telling us they had seen worse was no comfort.
Eventually we unloaded the car and stowed away our grocery delivery. It was after 9.00 when we switched on the smaller oven and the smell of burnt fat spread all round the house. Smoke billowed out, but no smoke alarm alerted us. We used the larger oven - free of fat but not as clean as it should have been.
The beds that were made up had exceptionally hard mattresses, so the following day we moved the linen to the other bedroom. This was when we realised there had been no mattress protectors on those beds. I could go on. The place felt frowsy and unloved.
Unable to relax, and feeling unsafe, we left after 48 hours. To date Henry Adams have failed to respond in any meaningful way to our complaints, blaming an issue of communication with the owner. Not a problem of our making but we are left out of pocket and very angry.

Highly recommended
Lovely light and spacious house in a very peaceful location, just a minute or two’s walk from a huge empty pebbly beach. Everything was very clean and well equipped and we had a wonderful stay. I would definitely recommend this house to others.
The only minor improvement for the future would be to provide little bedside tables or shelves in the master bedroom - it would be useful to have somewhere to put books, a glass of water, etc.
Thanks for a lovely stay :)
