NOISE
The home is nestled in the trees along Hwy 900, a high-traffic road between Issaquah and Renton. Expect to hear cars and trucks pass by day and night from inside, but also enjoy the sights and sounds of mother nature all around you. See photos for proximity to the street.
LOCATION
Being on Hwy 900 means you won't spend extra time driving through neighborhoods or city streets to get to your destination. From the house, zip right onto this scenic road and hit the freeway, town, or trailheads within minutes. Note that commute hours in the morning and late afternoon create heavy traffic on this road, I-90, and main roads in Issaquah, so plan accordingly.
Outdoor enthusiasts will find two ski resorts less than an hour away, as well as boating/swimming, miles of cycling, running, fishing, downhill biking, destination hiking, and even paragliding just down the road. Water toys and boats can be parked in the open space to the right of the house.
Issaquah has a charming shopping area called Gilman Village as well as restaurants, live theater, and local shops along Front Street.
BOOKING ALTERNATIVES
It was remodeled to be booked as one large house, OR as two separate and private units on each level. The fastest way to find them is an Internet search for:
"House in the Woods (whole unit) Issaquah"
If you're sensitive to road noise, note that the upper unit's wall-to-wall windows and open floor plan make it easier to hear the cars/trucks. Although you still hear traffic in the lower unit, it is quieter.
Contact me if you'd like to add more people than is allowed.
(We recently purchased this home from friends who also hosted House in the Woods on Airbnb. If you've stayed here before, you'll notice that the furnishings and vibe are exactly the same!)

There is a large grassy area for recreational activities and hiking trails within walking distance or a short drive around the bend in the road.
Other things to note
- Easy drive to Seattle, Redmond, or Bellevue.
- Convenient to Costco HQ, Seimens, OSI/Spacelabs, T-Mobile, and Microsoft.
- Close to Issaquah wedding venues, including Trinity Tree Farm, Grand Ridge Manor, Tibbets Creek Manor, and Pickering Barn.

Once in a blue moon, uninvited people drop by to steal the goods. If you see a stranger who does not invite you, please call the police to protect you. There are no cameras inside to protect the guest's privacy.

We have stayed in many rental properties over the years, but this is definitely the most unique! The floor plan offers surprises around every corner and our kids had such a great time exploring both inside and out. The kitchens were well equipped and there are two full sized living areas with comfortable couches. This really was a fun place for our family to stay on our visit to the Seattle area.

My group stayed here for my wedding weekend, and the house was in a great location to the venue. We all had our own space which made the entire experience that much more enjoyable. The hosts were more than accommodating with trying to include everything we could possibly need in the home, and they were very responsive to any potential needs. They were gracious enough to let us get ready on the property as well. Would recommend for any group getaway!

The house feels like a cabin in the woods, very well stocked with all necessary items included, lots of rooms to hang out for kids or teenagers, definitely a good stay.

This was a fabulous property with everything we needed. You can tell the owner wants you to feel at home with all the cute touches in design as well. We had our bridal party stay here for a wedding weekend and everyone had plenty of space to get ready. Recommend!

This home was of great use for the night before and night of my wedding. Our bridal party stayed with us at the house. I also talked with the owner and was able to have our rehearsal dinner there for an additional fee due to guests count. It was easy to communicate with owner. Very kind and house was perfect for what we needed. Had a great time!

This host graciously accepted our proposal for having a small, intimate wedding ceremony and reception at his property! We had a guest count of 40 but only 10 people slept at the property. The host went through all the added paperwork for making sure there were damage waivers and policies in place so that he could accommodate our wedding and reception at his property. All of our guests loved the space! There was plenty of room to park 20 cars and the grassy space was just perfect for the placement of the ceremony chairs/arch, catering tables, and reception tables with head table! We loved the way the sun peaked through the trees during our reception - made for beautiful photos! The string lights around the house made it glow in the evening (this was perfect for our group of 28 who came for our rehearsal dinner which we had at long tables on the second floor deck!) The property was just beautiful! Instead of dancing, we had a bon fire and roasted s’mores! The bridal party and their spouses enjoyed cuddling up to the bon fire at the end of the evening with my (now) husband and I! The last thing I’ll add is that I’m happy we rented microphones for the ceremony and to have for the toasts at the reception as the road noise can get a little loud. Wasn’t a problem with microphones though! Everything went AMAZING!! We couldn’t be happier and we are proud to been so fortunate to get married at this beautiful house in the woods!!! I’m sure we will be back on our one year anniversary!♥️

This was perfect for what we needed. Never been to Seattle but couldn’t have ended up with a better spot.

We had an amazing stay at this house. We had a large family reunion and there was more than enough space for everyone. Downside: it is not as spacious as appears in pictures becuase there is a lot of furniture. Upside: the outdoor area, including the hot tub, picnic tabels, and fire pit are absolutely amazing and not really show cased in the listing! We will absolutely stay again!

Spacious, but cozy home. Very comfortable beds and we appreciated the gathering spaces (although we all pretty much congregated in the upstairs kitchen and family room). Great hosts! Thank you!!!

Had a great time here. Nice clean property that houses a good amount of people. If you have more than 10 people, people will likely sleep on the couch but definitely do able.

We had a lovely stay. We only wished it were longer. We relaxed, used hot tub, ate great food, shared stories, did some yoga! Our host was very nice and responded immediately when we had questions. We will definitely consider staying here again. We had 12 people over for fun during the day and 6 stayed over. Plenty of room to relax. Very comfortable beds.

Great Location
This house was in close proximity to Trinity Tree Farm, which is why we chose to rent it. We were in town for our sons wedding and the property put us close to our venue. This house accommodated our family nicely. I didn’t realize that two of the beds were in cubbies inside the master bedrooms, which made sleeping arrangements interesting since we are all adults. We ended up using blow up mattresses that we brought instead. There were a few things that could use updating and improvement, but overall the house fit our needs. Others mentioned camera on the outside of the house, which we had no problem with at all, however I have reached out to the owner with feedback on repositioning some of them to make sure they’re not angled to pick up activity inside the house.

Amazing House
This is an amazing house. My family and I had a blast. The owners were prompt to respond about anything. Very roomy and the beds were comfortable. The house was very clean and smelled amazing. We were able to cook multiple meals in 2 separate kitchens. It was very quite there as well. I’m sure I’ll book this house in the woods again. Thank you for having us!

Very nice vacation home
The house is very nice and location is awesome and as mentioned "House in the Woods". Overall house is pretty clean and nice bedrooms and ample room for every one. Property manager/owner is very responsive and responds to questions almost instantly. Overall, we enjoyed our stay without single problem.

Decent Place, But Could Use Some Work
Getting to the property was really easy. It's located right off of Highway 900 which is a pretty busy road. My first impression after arriving and doing a walkthrough was that the house felt older and less modern than I expected.
I was definitely disappointed in the lack of organization and cleanliness. It felt messy, a little dirty, and unorganized in the main room upstairs. That is where we spent most of our time because it was the largest space. There was a random printer sitting on a chair. The TV remote wasn't really working. We had to use the Xfinity remote to change inputs. The home stereo system wasn't even plugged in. We had to plug it in to use it, but found out that one of the speakers was blown. The area around the TV was messy. It became one of those houses that we weren't sure what worked and what didn't.
Overall, I was not impressed with this property, especially, for the rate that it's charging. We paid over $1525 for a night with fees and taxes included, and it definitely didn't feel like it was worth that cost. I wouldn't not stay at this location again. The property could be more welcoming by updating its equipment, prioritizing cleanliness and organization, and thinking of guests experience first.

Great host and wonderful property
My family and I stayed at the House in the Woods over Christmas and could not have been happier with the property or the host. There were a few mixed reviews on this property before staying so I was not quite sure what to expect but we could not have been happier. The property was really clean, we did not notice the musty smell or traffic noise that previous guests mentioned. The decorations are eclectic but similar to what you’d typically see in a vacation rental and I definitely did not get an old or worn vibe. The host was very communicative and seemed to genuinely care that we enjoy our stay. Would definitely recommend this property and hope to stay there when we are back in the area.

Pictures didn’t match
We don’t usually write poor reviews on the VRBOs we rent but in this case we had to be honest. My wife and I rented the house for a wedding in Issaquah, our hopes were to give out of town family a nice place to stay, who were all over the age of 70. So to our surprise we got a house that was more of an embarrassment. Everything in the house was old, cluttered, dusty and overly used. On the outside there was a lot of cameras some even looking into the house, one into master bed. The main statement we want to say Is the VRBO pictures don’t match the house.

Place is magnificent. Owner is great with communication and everything was spot on. Only detail that was left out were the cameras that were outside the property. According to vrbo rules, cameras are supposed to be mentioned in the details if there were any. They did not mention any.
Overall still a great place.

Beautiful and Quiet
The house was clean, the check in process was easy and it was a perfect size for our family. The upstairs and downstairs was fully stocked with dishes and other essential items. There was even a pack-n-play and high chair for my nephew. The hosts were very communicative and welcoming. The location was beautiful, peaceful, and private. Very enjoyable.

One day get away
Nice property in the woods. We rented the whole house and had fun exploring all the rooms. Decor is eclectic in some areas, but not in a bad way. We laughed at all the light switches through out the house. Over all the property was nice and we enjoyed our stay.

Wedding in area
We stayed at this property with two families. The house has 4 nice beds and then the “nitch” beds that you see in the pictures, an adult can sleep in them but in my opinion more for a child. The couches that are advertised for sleeping our adult kids found uncomfortable. Due to the house being in a damp and forested area gives the house downstairs a musty smell It bothered some in our party where others thought it just smelled like a house with a basement. It was great to have 3 full bathrooms and then the two half baths. The property owner was great about answering any questions we had, plenty of dishes and nice to have spices etc.

Fine
We are always grateful to have a home to stay when we travel. We just prefer to know what we are getting into before we arrive; hence, why I am sharing this with other potential renters. This home is large and can house 2-3 families easily. It feels like two separate homes with decor from each of the past 4 decades mixed together, on top of each other, with the majority of rooms downstairs. It is dark downstairs with a distinctive musty odor. Upstairs there is a gigantic master, closet and bath as well as the kitchen. There were mice droppings on most of the dishes in the upstairs kitchen. There is also quite a bit of road noise. This is a house in the woods on a main highway where cars travel quite fast, so there is significant noise that can be heard from all of the rooms. Despite it all, we, as a group, had a good time together. A testament to friendship overcoming noise, odor, and aged decor.

Cozy home in the woods
We spent a few days at this cozy home.in the woods. Although it is an older home, it is a beautiful 2 story house. Each level can be rented separately or you can rent the entire home like we did. We used this house as a retreat center for our annual staff meeting. The house just as described. It is located on a busy road, but once we settled in, it wasn't too much of a bother. Upstairs was perfect for our large group meals and gatherings. Downstairs was perfect for nightly games for the night owls. This home is uniquely setup, and only had one draw back and that was the futon/pull out beds. They were uncomfortable and we had to set one up from the downstairs closet. The upstairs kitchen is very cozy to work in, mlm if you have more than 2 people. It is these 2 reasons we didn't give this category a 5 star. We would consider renting here again.

Perfect place for winter birthday celebration
I celebrated my 30th birthday with my friends and family in February during a really scenic snowy weekend. The home was easy to get to while still feeling nice and secluded in the woods. The home has a beautiful mid century cabin feel filled with eclectic decor that makes the experience more fun! Plenty of kitchen space for cooking and two fire pits tucked in the trees. We had a great time together in this place!
