Rent a bike nearby and take a ride to Night Heron Park or the general store on more than 30 miles of paved trails that extend all across the island. Freshfields Village - a picturesque hub of dining, shopping, and entertainment - is two miles west, and historic downtown Charleston is only 25 miles northeast.

Shipwatch villas are great location at Kiawah. We had a short,(400 ft ),walk to beach and the beach wide and not crowded. We were 1.6 miles from grocery and restaurant’ s which was perfect. Condo has good bedding and is very comfortable. Tree view from living room was awesome. Kitchen good except coffeemaker not so good, leaked. This vila was a great value for Kiawah ! Highly recommend it would stay here again

Older property. Clean but popcorn ceilings, sagging sofa and chipped wood and paint throughout. Poor lighting and sagging shower curtain rod. Overall, a depressing experience. Has definitely seen better days. Check in and out was fine. Very cramped layout.

Great area! We found a great golf course. Excellent variety of restaurants to choose from. Place was perfect size. There was an excellent supermarket to get groceries to cook as well.

I was by myself and the West Beach villa was perfect- villa was clean, bathroom was updated and kitchen had everything needed for a few nights stay. Quick walk to the beach. Check in process was easy and they checked in with me often to make sure everything was satisfactory- would definitely stay there again!

The unit was very clean and comfy. It had everything we needed. The Vacasa people sent texts to be sure everything was fine and when we needed help with the thermostat, someone actually came in person to adjust it for us. Biking on the beach was great (we brought our own bikes) and the Italian restaurant in Freshfields Village was excellent!

Very clean, kitchen well stocked with glasses, dishes and cookware- very good pots and pans. No rodent issues as some previous reviews years ago indicated. Would absolutely book this same unit again. Also, colored mood lighting was extremely underrated, we grew to really like it!

I had a medical conference at the conference center on Kiawah island This condo was perfect right across the street from ocean and right next to the conference center Vacassa people were wonderful Place was clean and cute 5 stars indeed

We stayed here due to its location to the conference center. Its a very short walk to the conference center and the beach, 2 miles from Freshfield's. The unit was great for just being myself and my wife.

This place is great, and you can walk to the beach in less than two minutes. No BS check in procedures, they just email you the door code the morning of. If there really was a rat problem, it’s been resolved. The place was clean and nice, I wouldn’t call it luxurious, but it’s definitely not run down. A bit sandy and a few ants on the porch, and but Kiawah is a literal wetland on the beach, so you’re never going to have a 100% bug free experience. If that’s what you want, go somewhere else. This place is amazing if you like beaches and bike riding and comfortable accommodations.

This property has a serious pest problem. We were awoken one morning by a mouse (or rat...it was big) in the bed crawling across my wife. When we went to the main room and kitchen, we saw a second mouse/rat scurrying on the counter. There was rodent feces all over the counter and floor nearby. The property also has tons of bugs (probably because of the rats). I expect some bugs in a southern marshy location, but I have never seen this many flies and other insects in a house/condo. I would highly recommend to look for another property, as the mouse in the bed was one of the worst travel experiences we have had.

Easy check-in process. Check out was too early in my opinion and caused us to shuffle around a good bit to accommodate. And I woke up to noise coming from the kitchen and living room areas only to see a large rat scurrying out of the trash can and heading for hiding. Lots of bugs too, although being from South Carolina and being familiar with the coast, that’s not a big deal for me. But the large rat was quite the surprise. Just glad my wife didn’t run into it.

Absolutely love the island. The condo was clean and well stocked. Beware of the HUGE flies though! Lol! They still managed to come in through the screen porch. That didn’t take away from the experience so no big deal. For a couple this small space was perfect. You can walk to the beach in 7 minutes or drive and park in 2. Will definitely consider this space for our next visit. You will have a blast!
