Property is right on the water, great views of the ocean.
VRBO listing says 2 bedrooms which is accurate BUT the 2nd bedroom is up a small spiral staircase….. not pictured anywhere and not easy to climb. It’s a loft with 2 older twin beds.
Also property only has 1 parking spot also never mentioned in listing
We tried to contact property owner thru VRBO and didn’t get a response from property owner or any follow up from VRBO. Our stay was wonderful but your property listing and response needs improvement

Wonderful stay, very comfortable. Smaller than represented in listing, and some of the appliances could use a refresh like the stove and fridge. Overall a good experience.

Had a wonderful time in your home. The view is incredible!

This is a split review because the view of this property makes everything worth it. But, there were some downsides to the experience as well.
The reason I am still happy I booked this location was the experience of sitting in the hot tub or sitting for hours on the deck looking at the staggering view. That’s what makes everything worth it. I’ve traveled all around the world and it’s easily one of the best views I’ve ever seen.
Downsides:
Poor communication:
There was literally NO communication from the host. I messaged multiple times before the booking with a question and did not hear anything in response. I also never heard anything from them the entire time, once the booking was made.
Parts of the home are in disrepair:
The overall home is beautiful. There was champagne waiting at arrival and nice touches around the house.
However there are many areas around the house that seem like they have been broken for a good amount of time with no plan on fixing them. For example, there is a label that simply says “we know about this” under a break in the glass in the bathroom.
For $600+ a night, I would expect they could make a few of the minor repairs the home needs, but non seem like there a priority anytime soon.
Otherwise an amazing experience!

We enjoyed the property and took advantage of the hottub and firepit with a sunset view! Total relaxation. Had a time with the TV and Dish must have been out as it miraculously worked the next day after troubleshooting everything the evening before. You can tell how much upkeep a place on the ocean requires as it is in need of some paint, etc. I strongly recommend VRBO owners to stay in their places to get a better idea of what is needed. Road improvements/exits will be wonderful when finished. Was able to communicate quickly with our contact. Best for couples, upstairs bedroom not good for adults or small children but maybe tweens. Thank you for a lovely stay, I would definitely consider returning to this vrbo if in the area again.

This property is everything it advertises and more, beautiful ocean front property, nice deck with fire pit and jacuzzi overlooking a private beach… we had a great girls trip, was the perfect place to celebrate us all turning 60 this year. This was our second time staying at this location and we will be back again next year for sure!

For the price, this cottage should be far swankier, more up to date, no plastic plants, get rid of the ugly big plastic brown garbage container, spruce up the linens, buy nicer cups, glasses and dishes! The photos (professional photos) show the place to be larger and snappier than in reality: the bedroom especially with creaky bed and Yes a closet but 2 hangers? and the upper loft for sleeping only! However, the Hot Tub on the deck is clean, new and Fantastic! the View is Fantastic, the BBQ is new and Location is wonderful. For that we thank you.

Our time on this property was absolutely incredible. Everything is accurate as listed. We spent the majority of our time on the deck enjoying the views, hot tub and fire pit.
We had one issue come up with the ignition on the firepit and the maintenance team arrived promptly the next day and fixed our issue for us. We cannot wait to come back and stay here. Thanks to the staff!

A Few Hiccups
Stayed for just one night, and did not receive the check in code until 90 minutes before check in. This was after 3 emails and a phone call to the host. Being that the CA coast has spotty internet service, we were getting pretty worried. Also, the hot tub was turned down to 90 when we arrived, so it was too cold to use. Had we known this was not going to be set/functioning, we would not have booked Seamist. Also one thing to note, is that heavy bridge construction complete with a giant crane directly across the property starts at 6:00am, so there's no sleeping late.

Seamist
This is our third trip to the property but first time staying in Seamist. It, like Surfscape, is the closest you can be to the ocean without standing in the water. Beautiful accommodations and everything we needed was there. Thanks again for such a beautiful place to stay!

Loved it...but...
I've been coming to Surfscape and SeaMist several times a year since 2016 ,but please, please please change the codes to enter the homes. These have been the same for years. For safety reasons, I believe they need to be changed more often. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Amazing views!
We had a great time staying In the Seamist! As soon as you walk in the door, the views are incredible. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub and watching the sunsets. Listening to the waves crash into the rocks over and over is so soothing. We really appreciated the complimentary bottle of bubbly! It was a fun couple of days that we will never forget. Thanks for sharing your home!

Do not book if the hot tub is important to you
The view and proximity to the beach were amazing. Nothing else was great.
-The hot tub was not working during our stay. This was a HUGE disappointment, since the only plan for our stay was to relax around the house and enjoy the hot tub. The local contact sent someone to look at it, but he was unable to fix the issue. We were told that it took a while to heat up. We had already tried heating it the day before and at this time, we had been trying for over 4 hours that morning. We were told a hot tub specialist would come take a look, but no one ever came. The water temp. peaked at 94 degrees and then kept decreasing. We finally worked up the nerve to climb in, just to say we did it, but it was too chilly to stay in the water.
I have reached out to the Vrbo contact regarding our experience with the hot tub days ago and never received a response.
Other thoughts:
- Great view, but the windows were filthy. The person who came by to check the hot tub voluntarily washed the windows. I guess he saw how dirty they were. The view was much better after the cleaning.
- Bathroom is similar to what you would expect on a small boat. Not an issue as we didn’t spend much time in there, but sharing in case it is important to anyone else.
- Spiral stairs going into upstairs loft are TINY. Both adults, one who is a size 0, had to go down them backwards and still felt like we were squeezing our way down them. I ended up sleeping on the couch the final night because I didn’t want to have to go down them in the middle of the night to use the restroom.
- Parking is not ideal. We were lucky in that the people staying next door only had one car. If they had used both of their parking spots, I don’t know that we could have gotten our vehicle in and out.
- There are rules/notes labeled all over the home. It wasn’t very welcoming.
As I stated at the start of my review, the view and proximity to the beach are great. There was also a bottle of sparkling wine at arrival, which was thoughtful and appreciated.

Best Spot on the Sonoma Coast
There are many things to love about this property, but the best thing -- clearly -- is the view, which is spectacular. The whole stretch of the Sonoma coast is incredibly scenic, but this spot in my opinion, is the best. And you can just sit outside ... or inside, or in the hot tub, or in the nice little cabana down at the base of the staircase, or just a few steps further down on the beach itself -- and we thoroughly enjoyed ALL of the above, and watch the waves crash magnificently into all the huge rocks and sea stacks just offshore, creating dramatic splashes and spray. It's like watching fireworks; it's the show that never ends, a water ballet like no other. The cottage is nicely furnished and supplied. There are just a few minor repairs needed and I made suggestions to the property manager; had a nice chat with her over the phone. Maybe the only little negatives for me: the mattress is way too soft for my liking, but I personally just like and need a firm one. Slept okay nevertheless. The other thing just to be aware of is that there is a huge project going on right across the street; they are building a massive bridge across the gully there and they told me that project will take about two years. But honestly it didn't bother us at all; when you're out on the back deck or main room where you spend most of your time during the day, you're barely aware of the noise from the construction. We will definitely stay there again. It was just wonderful.

Amazing!
Simply amazing! The pictures do not do this place justice!
As you open the front door you are instantly greeted by the magnificent pacific ocean through the panoramic windows. The place was very clean and we could tell so much care was put into every detail and to make sure we were comfortable.
We cooked dinner every night so we could enjoy the amazing sunset.
The sound of the waves crashing into the rocks below was so therapeutic & soothing as we sat by the fire pit out on the deck.
Our first night we had clear skies and sat in the jacuzzi under the moon light and stars. It was perfect!
Communication with the owner was excellent & always prompt. Their local contact was also very helpful and easy to reach. I couldn't figure out how to lock the front door on our way out for a hike and she answered my call right away!
Backing out of the driveway onto the highway can be a bit tricky. As long as you are extra vigilant, you should be ok.
I'm definitely going to book this place again! I cannot wait to return.
Thank you Pierre for being so accommodating and sharing your wonderful home!

Birthday Weekend
This was a perfect place to hang with a few friends for a birthday weekend away. The deck was a perfect spot to enjoy all the glory of our Northern California coast with an easy staircase down to the beach for some tidepool exploration at low tide.

Rough Start
We arrived in mid December on a cold, foggy day, driving up from SF airport. When we arrived, the property indoor temperature was 55 deg. I had to put on my coat. There is no central heat and the electric "fireplace" was not sufficient to heat the living room. We called the local contact and emailed owner. After about an hour, a second portable electric heater was delivered. Eventually, the unit became tolerable. I would have appreciated getting an email regarding the heat situation and avoided the surprise of a cold unit. After this rough start, we were able to enjoy the view and area. This property is as advertised ( except for lack of heat). The view is beautiful. The steps provide access to the beach. If you rent in the summer months, it will be ideal.

Seamist Beach House
The remodel was very well done. We didn't do any real cooking but the kitchen looked adequate for doing so. Loved the view and setting. Gay was very responsive when we had problems with the land line. The only issue was with the spiral stairs to get to the loft. It really was narrow and not usable for my friend and I who are both over 70. I think it would be good to make a more specific comment about it. There was a picture on line but I did not get the real sense about how narrow it was. Overall a wonderful stay. Sharon

What a view!
We came for the view and we were richly rewarded. We loved sitting out on the deck watching the ocean, the seagulls, pelicans flying a ways out from time to time, and even the occasional whale spout! We had to be very alert to see these, and found we could see them late afternoon far out because the sun hit at an angle that illuminated the spout. Our first day we hiked bodega head, a fantastic short hike. The next two days we hiked a trail along the coast that started just 2 to 3 miles up Highway one. Everything went smoothly in the unit which was clean and in very good shape. Initially, I was confused about how to lock the door, but then realized the trick to it is outlined in the instructions for unlocking the unit as well. We did not need to have any interaction with the owner or local person while we were there. Everything went smoothly, the bed was very comfortable, and we loved the experience. Highly recommended.

A Little Piece Of Heaven!
Seamist was an amazing experience! Very comfortable, cozy, the view to die for, and weather the first week of September sunny and 70!
We sat on the deck a good part of our time there. We just couldn’t get enough of the glistening water, crashing waves, and sun!
The home was Immaculent, comfortable bed, and all you needed in the kitchen. Great T.V. Channels along with music channels.....very nice for a vrbo rental.
Parking was tricky but not a big problem for us when we figured how to back out, as there is a sister property next door that has 2 parking spots. Only other thing is there is quite a large step over into the bathtub. There are safety bars and a suction cup mat on the tub floor that makes it easier for someone like me, with back issues, to get in. I really appreciated that!
If you can take the long hike to Shell beach, no shells but quite an experience with so much wildlife and a sanctuary. Saw seals and vultures and many bird species. If you can walk down the many steps challenge of getting down there (think the sign said 1-1/2 miles to 2) it is so incredible. I did it with compression fractures and degeneration in my lower back (with the help of my husband that is) and it made me feel very accomplished!!
The owner, Gay, was very accommodating to me on line with all of my questions and concerns. She gets back to you promptly.
Anyone who loves the ocean must try Seamist or Surfside (a larger place) because there aren’t many vrbo rentals on the ocean side of Hwy 1 at this reasonable price!

Unplug and enjoy the view!
We enjoyed 3 nights here at Sea Mist cottage. Everything was straightforward and clearly explained in the instructions. Just be sure to write down instructions because our phones (ATT) did not have cellular service in the vicinity (they warned us about this). There is wifi in the cottage and a landline. So, it wasn't too much of a problem (it's probably a good thing to go off the grid!). The view is spectacular. Hardly anyone down on the beach below (reachable by private steps down). We enjoyed Armstrong Woods, Guerneville, and Bodega Bay. Just being here was so relaxing! Thanks and we'll definitely come back again and recommend to others!

Sereno Del Mar Review
Property was as described in the listing. Very beautiful view. Bathroom was extremely small - think sailboat-sized. Shower requires a 30" step over to enter. Those with limited mobility should be aware. Parking is extremely tight.
