This was a beautiful boutique hotel run by a Maltase family. Timothy the General Manager was an excellent host. He was very helpful in arranging an early breakfast for us as we had an early meeting. He was very knowledgeable and helpful about the area and Malta. Timothy also made sure he knew all our names and adressed us accordingly which was really nice. The room was very clean and neat with a beautiful little balcony. It was easy to get around Malta by bus which was close by as well as UBER and BOLT.

Location is outside of touristic areas, so its really quiet, but still, everything is really close, Valetta is like 10m with a taxi. The hotel is really nice old building, very clean, wtuff is friendly and helpfull.
Breakfast was a bit too light for my taste, but this doesnt mean much, it was still very good and fresh.

Everything. The staff was so nice with us!! The room was very clean and everything was very nice!!

It is easy access to the touristic places. The rooms are air conditioned. From the outside, it is vintage but from the inside is modernised. And the most thing that we liked is the security to the hotel.

I highly recommend to stay at this hotel if you pass by Malta.

Amazing staying !

The room was comfortable, always cleaned, towels were changed daily. Nicely and tastefully decorated.
Hard to get to with all the narrow roads around it.
Too much noise from local celebrations. No full time reception like a hotel. Closer to an airbnb and maybe better suited for holiday rather business stay. Complex and laboursome entry/exit system!!

Palazzino Nina is a hidden gem, a place of beauty and serenity that exceeded all expectations. The staff's personal care and advice made our stay in Malta fantastic, and the hotel itself will be an important part of the memories we collected there. The hotel's elegant and tranquil ambiance is ideal for couples. It is located in the center of Malta, allowing us to reach any place in 10 to 15 minutes maximum by car.
Our favorite moment in the hotel was the breakfast, always different, and always an occasion to exchange a few words with Timothy, who was extremely caring and helpful with us.
I wholeheartedly recommend Palazzino Nina. It is a destination that will leave you with cherished memories and a longing to return.
Thank you by Xuan and Francesco

Really nice people, they take good care of you. Personal approach but still very professional. Enjoyed our breakfasts with local sweets and bread. We stayed for 10 days and enjoyed each one of them.

The manager is giving you a friendly welcome, untill the moment you give some comments.
After returning home I have been asking at least 10 times for the refund that we agreed upon (extra charge for breakfasts that we did not take).
The hotel building is really nice. Old renovated building. Just watch out if you are not good with stairs, cause the elevator is only going 1 floor. But for us, this was not an issue. Also the system to enter the building is complex with an app on your phone, but in the end he gave us a code on paper with a code, cause if ever the battery of your phone is dead, you cannot get in the bulding anymore as there is nobody at the reception except a few hours in the afternoon.
If you scroll through all comments, you see similar comments coming back. It is probably a good hotel if you don't like breakfast, if you don't hear a lot and don't want to spend the evenings in a nice and cosy town around your hotel.
Attached a picture of the 'bread' that was avaialble on Easter morning. As you can see - I'm not exagerating)
After booking.com reservation, they are still asking an additional 7€ per person for a 'full breakfast'. Unfortunately, what you get is not a full breakfast. No fresh bread, fresh fruit was only an apple and a banana... Some days there were croissants, but they were not fresh as the breakfast is already prepared the day before at 18h because manager is not in the hotel in the morning. The room to have breakfast is also extremely small and not cosy at all. (rest of the building is nice).
For the Jaccuzi, you need to make a reservation 24h upfront and pay an additional 25€ per time that you want to go in. But who can predict on holidays 24h upfront when exactly you want to go in there. We visited in April, so wanted to have some flexibility depending on the wheather and trips we are making. Unfortunately not possible...
We were sleeping in the family room which at first sight looked ok. Unfortunatly, when there are people staying in the room next to you, you can hear every word they are saying. Luckily they were open for my comments when I asked them to be quiter so we could sleep.
Hotel is in a very quiet city without cosy restaurants in the neighboorhoud. Hotel manager will tell you there are, but they are take away. Look at google maps to check this yourself. (I should have done that part of holiday prep better - I admit)
After my comments I made an agreement with the manager that we could leave and go for another hotel, and we made a financial agreement. Unfortunately, I paid my part (had to do so because they were threatening to lock me out of the room), but they did not refund me the extra's they charged me for the breakfasts, and on top they have taken the 100€ deposit from my account that was blocked with my credit card. Even though I did a check up of the room when leaving, and they confirmed me everything was extremely clean.

Tim the hotel manager and his staff were extremely friendly and helpful. No task or request was a problem for him. The Pallazino Nina hotel itself is a stunning building steeped in history. The courtyard as well as the rest of the hotel is spotless. Also, Tim sends his guests personal emails which are very informative and helpful to assist travellers plan their following days. The departing gift was a lovely touch too and we appreciated it.
As much as I'd like to give you guys a high rating I simply can't due to the number of issues we had during our stay. First of all, paying €25 to use the hot tub/jacuzzi and sun lounger is quite frankly a disgrace considering the amount of money people are paying to stay with you. Regardless of whether you change the water each time or not. The lock on the gate on the sunroof to access the hot tub and guest toilet is intimidating and off putting. Guests should have the right to use the guest toilet without having to go to their room. Also, the lock/key box system is far too complex and complicated for users who simply want to go in and out with ease of access. Your system is heavily reliant on smartphones which some people may not want to carry with them on holidays or simply run low on battery when out which happened to us.Then having to download an app to use your system is excessive being honest. Finally, you need to state in the facilities part of Booking.com or TripAdvisor that your hotel is not particularly mobility friendly. I understand you have an elevator to the first floor. But the winding staircase to the sun roof is difficult to navigate and dangerous. Also, many of the stairs have a high riser on the steps and this would impact guests with mobility issues accessing certain points of the hotel getting to their rooms. Overall, it was a pleasant stay but there are a lot of improvements to be made. Please take the above into consideration.

Very charming place & very well cared for!
Excellent and helpful staff!
It's like visiting your good friends and staying in your private bedroom rather than staying in a hotel room.

This is one of the most charming hotels I have been to, full of character. Newly opened, the rooms are beautifully set up and the owners have given each room so much attention to detail. I was lucky to get a room upgrade and loved having a terrace with the room. Hotel hygiene and room cleanliness were of the highest standard. The hotel also offers a sun deck and Jacuzzi on the roof terrace which was perfect to relax in after a long day. Breakfast was great, freshly prepared just for me and the management were really friendly. Wished I could have stayed longer but will definitely be returning.
