About this house rental
So central that you share a postcode with Royalty! You can walk to Buckingham Palace in under ten minutes - and to many of the other main tourist attractions.
This spectacular family home is a classic Victorian London townhouse built in 1851 and quietly situated in a magnificent terraced crescent. A history of the house through to the present day has been compiled and published, - and we gift each group of guests a 'memento' copy. The house boasts 7 bedrooms (3 with desks), a conservatory/office (accommodates two or three), a sitting room, a kitchen-dining room (seats 12), 3 x bath/shower rooms + 2 x separate WCs. Free unlimited high-speed wi-fi throughout; 5 x SMART TVs with Netflix included and most other apps available, Bluetooth speakers and Amazon Echo. With the rooms laid out on four main floors (and some mezzanines), the house works well for extended families or a team of co-workers.
In the various bedrooms there are 4 x large double beds (150cm, 5'6' wide), 1 x smaller double bed (135 cm, 4"6" wide), 3 x single beds - and 2 x fold-out bed-chairs in 2 large bedrooms (for nervous children). There are black-out blinds or shutters in all bedrooms. Maximum permitted occupancy is 12 people plus infants (2 x cots provided). The main rooms have ornate ceilings, cast iron and marble fireplaces fitted with coal-effect open fires, chandeliers & working Victorian window-shutters. The house is fitted with every modern convenience: washing machine, separate tumble dryer, top-of-the-range espresso coffee machine, microwave, kitchen range (3 x ovens), American-style fridge freezer, dishwasher, 5 x hairdryers, 2 x irons.. All linen and towels are provided; and for children there are books, toys, 2 x highchairs (as well as the 2 cots) and other baby equipment. Cosy in winter (central heating + underfloor heating), cool in summer (air-conditioning on the top floor and high-quality fans in all other rooms, plus an air purifier), the house is comfortable in all weathers. There’s a suntrap terrace leading from the kitchen, plus a delightful patio garden wreathed in jasmine and wisteria and calming the soul with gently running water (which you can turn off!) An excellent sports centre with public-access gym and swimming pools is a two-minute WALK from the house.
We keep the house in immaculate condition, constantly re-painting to remove scuff marks and renewing furniture and accessories regularly. Over the last five years, every room has been refurbished. Guests frequently comment on our level of cleanliness and attention to detail. A welcome pack of groceries greets you on arrival.
We pride ourselves on the fact that the house is imaginatively decorated and laid out in such a way that there are great opportunities for privacy, as well as for all members of the household to meet sociably.
The location of this wonderful house is unbeatable. Although it is situated in the very heart of London, it is quietly positioned. The area is safe and well served in every possible way. The neighbouring streets are full of great local shops including supermarkets (open all hours), specialist delicatessens, hardware shops, a post-office, beauty salons and hairdressers, haute couture and antique shops, as well as a wide range of restaurants, cafes and marvellous food carry-outs. At one end of the street is a local food market; at the other, under two minutes' walk from the house, is Pimlico Underground ('Tube') Station and terrific local bus routes. From the house it is just a short stroll to Victoria Station, Tate Britain, the Thames, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Cathedral, St James’ Park, Battersea Park, Downing Street, the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey. Several theatres are close by, too, as is a beautiful cinema.
It is only a short tube/bus/taxi ride (or you can walk) to Hyde Park, Harrods, Harvey Nichols, Oxford Street, Piccadilly Circus, the West End, Chinatown, Covent Garden, Trafalgar Square, Leicester Square, the National Gallery, the National Theatre, the National Film Theatre, the Festival Hall, Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, the Tate Modern the London Eye, the London Aquarium, and other main London attractions. There are easy transport links to all London airports and mainline stations, and London and regional coach tours. For those who like to run or jog, there are accessible routes from the house along the River Thames and through the nearby parks.
This spectacular house is brilliantly located for special annual London events, including - within WALKING distance - all Royal Family celebrations, the Chelsea Flower Show , the London Marathon (finishing line), the New Year's Day Parade, the Lord Mayor's Procession & Show, the Trooping of the Colour, the Thames Festival, the State Opening of Parliament, Guy Fawkes Night (5 November - walk across the river to Battersea Park), the New Year Fireworks (watch them from outside Tate Britain, five minutes' walk from the house). Westminster Abbey, St John's Smith Square and Westminster Cathedral are all within ten minutes' walk and magical for Christmas Carols.
Within a short tube/bus ride you'll reach the London International Boat Show, the Olympia Fine Art & Antique Fair, the Holiday and Travel Show, Party in the Park, the London Proms at the Albert Hall, the Covent Garden Festival of Street Theatre, the Notting Hill Carnival, the Russian Winter Festival, the Chinese New Year celebrations - and outdoor skating during the winter months. Equally close is the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, the. National Film Theatre (the heart of the great London film festival), the Chelsea Antiques Fair, the Christmas lights and many other major cultural and sporting events. Wimbledon Lawn Tennis is an easy tube-ride away, as is Wembley Stadium.
We purchased our central London home in 1985 and lived there until 2008. The moment we opened the door we loved it. It felt then, and feels now, as if only happy things have happened here - which can't possibly be true, since it's more than 170 years since it was built! We wanted to live right in the heart of London, and you can't get much closer to the heart than this. We also wanted a characterful house, with high ceilings, original features and a sense of generations upon generations of people having lived there before us. And that is exactly what we got! We raised our family here, working from home, so the house has always been busy and full of children. When we left it, and downshifted to another part of London, we rejoiced that we didn't have to sell it, and that other people could enjoy it too.
The remarkable thing about 'Pimlico' (the area of the London Borough of Westminster in which our house is situated), is that it is quite like a village, and yet it is right in the heart of perhaps the greatest city in the world. Neighbours know and look out for each other; our street contains many family houses and has an active residents' association, the shop keepers know us and are friendly, and yet the district is at the same time both cosmopolitan and fast-paced. In Pimlico you can live peacefully, yet never feel that life is passing you by.

This property was just perfect for our extended family. One block from the Underground Railroad and convenient to bakeries and grocery. Adrienne, the property manager, was very attentive and helpful. Be aware of lots of stairs!

The house was wonderful. This house was very well maintained and equipped like your own home. I have stayed in many VRBO homes but this one had everything we needed. Lots of big towels, toilet paper, Kleenex and a welcome basket with butter, bread, pasta, sauce, coffee, tea and other basics. The owner responded immediately when I had any questions! I would definitely go back!

Our family enjoyed a lovely stay in London and got to experience what it was like to stay in a historical townhouse in a lovely residential neighborhood. A little bit different than just your typical hotel.

Adrienne and Carole took great care of us to make sure we had all the information we needed about the house. The home itself was well equipped and perfect for our group. The neighborhood is wonderful with lots of easy food options nearby. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to other friends and families.

Very functional and comfortable for our 12 member family (5 children aged 5-12). Close to tube stop. Plenty of bedroom & bathroom space. Good restaurants nearby.

Our family of 9 adults found the property to be perfect as accommodations for gathering, dining, and sleeping. The location was exceptional for both walking and taking the underground. It is an easy walk to Harrods, for example, as well as to the Tate London, Parliament and many other desirable locations. The Pimlico tube stop is a 3 or 4 minute walk and ideally located on the Victoria line. Everyone enjoyed this home, and we'll be back!

What a gift this stay was! The property manager and owner were incredible - quick to respond, lots of information and so accommodating. We were greeted with fresh flowers for the bride and groom with a lovely card; a basket of staples including bread, wine, pasta with milk and butter in the refrigerator. Five sets of keys; everything we needed for the 1 year old; a grocery trolley; a full-on espresso machine... It was absolutely the perfect setting for this US family of 8 adults traveling across the pond to watch our son marry a beautiful Englishwoman. We give this entire stay 6 stars - they get the extra star because your cleaning fee actually goes to cleaning. We didn't have to do a thing except remove our trash! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
6.0 / 10.0
The communication with the property manager was quick and super friendly. The location of the property was awesome. The complaints come in moderate areas.
- The house isn't as big as you might think when you see it online
- The word 'luxury' might be a bit overstatement. It's charming in a english way but it's not luxurious.
- The hot water was broken in the basement. My 70 yr old mom sponge bathed for a day before she finally complained and told me. It was fixed soon but we did have hot water issues.
- The main room upstairs was just really hot. They want you to open a window for fresh air but the problem with that is you then can't sleep in the morning bc of the cars, people, and birds. So we ended up quite uncomfortable every night with how hot it was.
- It was a bit creaky so if anyone is up or moving, you'll hear them.
Again, it's a nice place. Great location. Property managers were communicative but I just think it's overpriced and over sold as to its 'luxury' status. I'd give it a 3 stars out of 5.

Great time - house worked great! Hosts very responsive!! Only advice is that one bedroom has a Murphy bed and the other a day bed.. we probably should have read more closely - it worked fine but we were a little surprised. Very clean - great kitchen! Highly recommend for a big group

This house was absolutely perfect for our family of nine, which included six adults and our three grandchildren, ages 7 to 10. The 170-year-old house was in immaculate condition. Our family enjoyed gathering at the large kitchen table and also in the beautifully decorated family room. The location of the home is excellent. We either walked or took the nearby Tube for our sight-seeing adventures and dinner at restaurants. A daily walk to Pret for “take away” morning coffee and pastries was part of our routine. Adrienne, the host, always replied promptly to our questions. I highly recommend this house if you plan to visit London.

Our stay in London at this 7 bedroom luxury home was PERFECT for my family of 9!! The home was very spacious and clean upon arrival. The hosts Adrienne and Carole were exceptional from the time of booking up to check out. They set up an extra payment arrangement as requested, allowed us to enter the property as soon as we arrived in London (hours before check in), and they were super helpful and very hospitable. The home was within a short walking distance to the train station making it super convenient to get to all the nearby attractions. There were also nearby restaurants and bodegas as well. My entire family enjoyed their stay here in Westminster (age range 21-73). Our favorite times included sitting at the kitchen table at night and recapping all the things we did during that day while out and about. I highly recommend this location next time you are in London!! Good times and great memories that we will forever cherish. Thanks again Adrienne and Carole!!

We've wanted to take our young grandchildren to see the land of our roots, and this home was the perfect place for us to come together. Adrienne made this our best VRBO experience ever with her informative tips and directions, ongoing communications and responsiveness. The location couldn't be better for getting around London and the neighborhood pubs, markets, etc. made it easy and convenient to get whatever we needed. Cannot recommend this property highly enough !!

The house was wonderfully located in a quiet safe neighborhood with lots of local restaurants and convenient to the underground. Adrienne, the owner, was incredibly responsive and accommodating. Highly recommended.

We have been gathering every summer for many years, in many different locations, beach, country and city. We rarely have enough bedrooms and this house fit us perfectly. There are enough modern bathrooms for a large crowd, and the kitchen is well fitted with appliances and even an espresso machine. We loved the little patio outside the kitchen for breakfast.
The location in central London is ideal. The house is close to the tube station and buses, and a fairly easy walk into town for the younger members. We found some excellent pubs and restaurants close by, and enjoyed the food trucks. There is also a wonderful bakery round the corner.

Beautiful home! Had a wonderful stay while in London! Walking distance to Buckingham Palace, buses and tube! There were 12 of us; grandmother, adult children and spouses, and grandchildren. We all loved it!

Twelve members of our family were able to enjoy this wonderful home. And because of the location our 15 to 74 year olds could go and enjoy all the experiences that London offered in our five days in town. Adrienne could not have done more to make our visit better. The home is lovely and had room for us all. Her goodie basket was so generous and appreciated. And her willingness to be flexible with our large group made everything easier. Our whole family was sorry to leave our wonderful vacation home. And all of us would highly recommend this beautiful place.

Great location on quiet street; close to tube and many restaurants / attractions. The layout provided a nice large gathering room, and also had bedrooms on different levels to provide some privacy if desired.

Had a fabulous time at 112 Tachbrook! The kitchen was a masterpiece, especially the espresso-maker; it started a lot of folk’s days on a perfect note. And really…..how did you get the red hibiscus to flower just as we arrived, brightening the kitchen, dining room patio and everyone’s smiles so we’ll. ?!!?
As advertised, the area is quiet, safe, and chock-a-block with dining, chemists and grocery choices. The 24 bus and Pimlico Tube gave easy access throughout the city. This included the direct shot from Pimlico to St Pancras for one small group’s EuroStar dash to Paris.
Our multi-generational party members (aged 76 to “almost 6”) all found special places to relax, chat, rest and (ugh) play electronic games. The multitude of bathrooms made the morning rush hour with kids very manageable. The washer/dryer combo was another winner.
Looking forward to using your services again!

Lots of floors for privacy for different parts of the family, but we shared the kitchen and dining room space all the time, and enjoyed the living room for all of us (10-12 people!). Host was exceptionally thoughtful and responsive. Location was perfect for strolling to get coffees or dinner, or take-out to share at home. Close to underground and taxis but we walked to many places

We just completed a delightful stay here which exceeded our expectations in every way. Comfortable home with beautiful details and plenty of space for us to spend time with our group. Communication with Adrienne was prompt, courteous and helpful. We would love to return.

The property was perfect in every way! We arrived to a beautiful basket of bread, pasta and cereal. The space was perfect for our family of 10. The toys available really helped our young ones adapt to the environment. The beds were very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you so much for giving our family a home away from home.

I had a number of communication with the owner prior to arrival with times and direction to the house. The house was large enough for our family of 8 to all have our own place to hang out as well as hang out all together. The neighborhood is quiet and the underground and bus stops were both conveniently located. The house is equipped with everything you would need for a stay. There were plenty of place to eat and buy groceries around the house as well. We found a great fish and chips place and a breakfast restaurant about a 5 min walk away.

Wonderful home and location!
We came to London to celebrate my parents 50th wedding anniversary. This was a wonderful home in terms of comfort and location. The tube station is not far and there are restaurants and shops close by, yet it is a quiet street. We also used Chefs Compliments for a private dinner party at the home. They were recommended by Adrienne. Fantastic. Adrienne was thorough and quick to respond to any of our needs. If you have a large party, this is a great place to stay. We really enjoyed our visit and hope to come back again one day. Thank you Adrienne!

Wonderful location for a large group
We had a lovely time on our large extended family gathering. The location in Pimlico was fantastic and allowed a lot of flexibility for some folks to adventure out via taxi, subway, bus or walking. We really enjoyed taking advantage of the nearby coffee shops, bakeries, pubs, groceries and restaurants. We had the flexibility to go out or stay in and everyone had their own room making it a very comfortable stay for a group of 11. I would definitely come back again if I came back to London with a large group.

Perfect!
Lovely townhouse in a perfect location - just perfect for our extended family (6 adults & 2 kids - 7 & 9 years old).
Room for all of us around the dining room table, beautiful well-stocked kitchen, many different bedroom configuration options. A couple of really lovely outdoor spaces were a nice bonus.
Host was extremely responsive and helpful - early luggage drop off made our first day in town so much easier.
I would absolutely book here again in a heartbeat!

Extended Family Holiday
Fantastic home near central London. We very much enjoyed our stay. Everything was perfect and as expected. Adrienne is very organized and everything we needed to enter the home, work the appliances, information about the surrounding area, etc. was made available within clearly written instructions and information packets. She was also very responsive when we needed additional information. The home was lovely, and the listing accurately described the home. The only inconsistency was that the listing indicated there was air conditioning, but only the top floor rooms had air conditioning, while the other floors were equipped with fans only. Nonetheless, we would recommend Adrienne and her home, and we would stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay in London! The house was in a great location - nice neighborhood and close to the tube and other transportation. There were grocery stores, restaurants, and other shops nearby. The house was great - very nice kitchen, enough bedrooms for our entire family, washer and dryer, kids toys - everything we needed! The owners/property managers were also very easy to communicate with and helpful. Great all around!

Amazing Property and Management
Our traveling group was 2 American families. 4 Adults 2-19 year old boys and 2 girls 16 and 17. We spent the first part of the week in the Cotswolds and ended our trip at this amazing property in London. The property is well appointed and has everything you need for an amazing stay. Everyone was able to have their own room for privacy. The property owner has detailed instructions provided and helps with restaurants and location to whatever you want to see. I highly recommend this property! Do not miss out on this London home.
