About this house rental
Nice cozy Home 🏡 Clean and quiet neighborhood, near by Thornton State Beach plus an official trail distance from Avalon Drive(Canyon) down to the beach, an estimate is that the walk down the twisting path is a little less than half a mile plus a bit of walking on the beach and the round trip is one mile, but a steep one mile, and five minutes' walk to the Palisades park. Only 1 block away to the Skyline Plaza where it has many restaurants, and stores. It's very close to Westlake , Serramonte, and Stonestown Mall. A bus station right in front of the house takes you to Daly City Bart station directly. Very convenient location to access the Skyline Blvd and 280 Free way. It is about 13 mins from this house to SFO, 18 mins to San Francisco, and 36 mins to Silicon Valley.

It was great staying here! The studio itself was super clean and nice, both the only downside was that the shower is quite small. As a small 5’3 female, I was still bumping into the wall trying to wash my hair. But it was still worth it and the price is great!

This was a great little place to stay. Had everything we needed and clean. Enjoyed this location as it was away from the hustle bustle of the city and near some of our favorite, local spots to eat. Communication with the property owner was great, got our check-in information a few days before our stay with very clear instructions (was a bit confused looking at it ahead of time but made perfect since once we arrived). We ended up not bringing our pup with us and they were very understanding and even refunded our pet fee. We'll definitely stay again next time we're up for a visit.

Location is good in a way that its close to SF and also cities in the south like Half Moon Bay.
Communication with owner is efficient and reaction quick. Check-in process and information is sufficient.
However, some of the pictures online do not reflect the current furniture and look of the space. For us it was ok but not worth the price comparing to other stays we had and the fact that also a hotel room would not be much more expensive.
For just 1-2 nights I would say its fine, but not longer. Looking at the former ratings I expected something better .

As I expected, except for upstairs residents young child “running” in space above ours till after midnight.

My husband and I stayed here on our belated honeymoon. Access to the unit was fairly straightforward, and we loved the location. For being right next to a bus stop, it was still pretty quiet, not a lot of street noise.
The owner was very responsive to messages.
My only two minor issues were that the sponge we assumed was for dishes was not clean (we just used a wash cloth instead) and that someone upstairs was frequently loud/dropping things and yelling across the house until nearly 1am.
We would definitely stay here again. It would be helpful to have a recycle bin in the unit.

James was absolutely amazing as a host. I would stay here again if I could. We stayed for 13 days and people were in and out. So, his place is popular. But I can see why. He did everything possible to make it perfect. He even got us cookies and fruit and wrote us a lovely message to welcome us. Highly recommend James and his Daly City home. Even our dog, Mavis loved it…

Quick weekend getaway with my dog. Cozy corner lot. Parking and a quick walk to a small dog park.

We were able to see all of San Francisco using the amazing public transportation system all starting right outside the door! Get a Clipper card at Walgreens and have a great time. I loved the blackout curtains which helped heaps with jet lag. The bed, sheets and pillows are incredibly comfortable... just like home! Tiny shower but the access to the city makes up for it. I found this the perfect place to travel as a San Francisco local. The folks in Daly City are very kind and welcoming. The locally owned restaurants are to die for!

Would easily stay here again!

Enjoyed our brief stay. The proximity to SFSU was perfect since we had to pick up my daughter from school. Everything as pictured, easy enough to park. Dog park down the street made it perfect for our pup. Especially appreciated the extra touches; welcome note, variety of treats in the refrigerator as well. Will definitely book again.

When we review a property, I feel we need to take into consideration "value" meaning "bang for the buck" to include space, amenities, hospitality, community, and services. Keep in mind, this is not a $500 per night San Francisco Bay Area hotel room. It is at least as big as one, though, and James' thoughtfulness in both preparation and hospitality is outstanding. I mean, it's almost like he has thought of everything from ease of entrance and egress to a diet busting plethora of cookies, pastries, breads, and oh yes, healthy fruit and milk, too. James and I did a fair amount of communicating including me forgetting how to get in and then I oopsidentally damaged something of which I let him know and James was very fair with me. Having Samtrans public transportation pick me up outside the front door at the curb was priceless, taking me directly to BART to which I went into the city. It was very easy. BTW, Samtrans will sell you a day ticket on the bus but they don't give change. You can also buy it by downloading their App. This place does have a "kitchenette" instead of a kitchen. No, it's not a house of it's own, it's more like a studio apartment. No oven and no kitchen sink (need to use the bathroom sink) but it's got a big refrigerator, a portable stove, a microwave oven, a Keurig coffee maker and cabinets loaded with needed dishes, utensils, and cooking tools. Oh, there was also an iron and ironing board and a dispenser of toiletries in the shower, among other amenities. For the price, it's outstanding and you can bring your pets!

Overall this was a satisfactory stay, very kind of the host to place snacks in the fridge.
The only short comings, the entrance is through the garage, that had smelly garbage cans, the apartment floors are ice cold this time of year, and the shower, although very clean, was as small as a phone booth. All in all, it was as listed, small but clean.

A little smaller than it looked in the pictures, but very nice, clean, and well-maintained. The host was very hospitable and responsive. Will stay here again!

Stayed here with my girlfriend and her dog for a few days. Everything was really easy and clean. It was a prefect fit for us. They even had a few breakfast options in the refrigerator ready for us, which was a pleasant surprise. We didn’t need from our host but he was just a quick message away.

My partner and I stayed at James’s property with our dog for a long weekend. Major pros for us and our dog were the private entrance, ground floor, nice neighborhood for walking the dog, and super close proximity to a dog park (one block!). The neighborhood is quiet, and we found it to be a great balance between proximity to SF and residential tranquility. Definitely would stay again.
