We really enjoyed our visit to Michigan. The property is beautiful! The cabin is very clean, fully stocked and comfortable. It's secluded with lots of privacy, but also a short drive to restaurants, shopping, etc. Plus, the beach is right across the street.

We absolutely loved our stay here! 15 min north of St Joseph but we loved the home and beach access that we only went into town once! Would stay here again! Clean, great owners, great secluded beach!

Property was well-maintained and the pictures don't do it justice. Very private location and very close to the beach would definitely rent again.

Awesome place to stay in a great location and close to many beaches.

My 11 year old daughter, our two dogs, and myself were quite happy here with proximity of two beaches and spectacular view of Lake Michigan from the top of the bluff. I wish we could have had it for a week, but someone snagged it before we could. Coloma has a quaint downtown and 11 miles north off St. Joseph. I think we will be going back. Thank you Wanda and Brett.

Very nice property and dog friendly. Inside was gorgeous with all the amenities. Beach was right across the street and the views from the front porch were amazing!

Our family really enjoyed our stay. The location across from a public beach was ideal and yet the cottage felt secluded & private up on a hill & surrounded by trees. The decks provided great outdoor gathering spaces & the inside was comfortable with plenty of space. The decor showcasing local artists was a nice touch. The kitchen was well equipped & had everything we needed to cook meals all weekend. Beds were comfortable & there were plenty of linens. Would love to stay here again!

We absolutely loved our stay, and wished we could have stayed longer! The house was beautiful, we loved the kitchen! We were here at the end of August and it was a bit of a heat wave and we remained cool and comfortable in the house. We noticed a yellow jacket nest starting near one of the doors and Wanda had pest control there the next morning to take care of it. We were 10/15 minutes from St. Joseph and 15 minutes from South Haven. Lots of restaurants nearby to enjoy. We had our dog with us and the entire area was very dog friendly. We were at the beach almost every day. At the height of summer, we had zero issues crossing the street to get to the beach across the street. Every single night the sunsets kept getting better. 100% recommend :)

Very pleased with this lovely cottage. The home is just as pictured in the listing photos, but I don’t feel they quite do the property justice. The spaces are generous and finished with a high degree of quality. The two comfortable sofas were perfect for lounging and reading and gaming. The bedrooms provided ample space and comfort. And the kitchen and bath have been beautifully finished with very well maintained appliances and hardware. There is ample outdoor seating on both the front and back decks and solid chairs around the fire pit. The cottage has been carefully stocked with all that you need to enjoy a vacation: wonderful kitchen amenities; games and books; beach gear; a quality gas grill. An added plus for our family was the beautiful art which decorates the cottage - both Wanda and Brett are talented artists.
The location is very private - I would call it a woodland island. The cottage sits atop a bluff and is surrounded by beautiful trees and shrubs with a view of Lake Michigan across the street. The sandy beach across the street was great for hanging in the sun - plenty wide enough for us to set up chairs and umbrella with our son and dogs.
Thank you Wanda for the wonderful communication and sharing your home with us : )

The property is beautiful, and walking distance to the beach! There’s plenty of space to sit outdoors and enjoy the wooded view. It was beautiful, and just what we needed!

Wanda was amazing and so helpful! We ran out out of propane for the grill and she had a new one delivered within hours. Can’t wait to come back next year.

We rented in Oct 2022 and had a great time. The cabin is clean and modern, with all the right decorative accents to make it feel homey. It is adjacent to a local highway, but raised above it on a bluff so that there is little road noise. Also, despite the worries of other reviewers, the highway was not busy: we had no problems crossing it with our two small dogs to get to the beach directly across from the cabin.
The property is very centrally located which allowed us to spend time exploring both the New Buffalo / Three Oaks and the Saugatuck / Fennville areas. And don’t miss Benton Harbor / St. Joseph, we highly recommend Houndstooth.
We very much enjoyed the property, and would return.

We loved the view out all windows especially in the living room! The property has a central location to anything a guest may be interested in; wineries, shopping, beaches, food! Please visit The Blackbird Waterhouse for an excellent meal!
Enjoyed our stay!

We loved being across a quiet highway RIGHT next to beach access. Sunsets and hanging by lake during evening was lovely. Hard to pull us away from the porch where we read and listened to music during the day. Pet friendly amenities including doggy dishes if you needed them. Clearly had made investments into home and property. We loved it! You will travel a bit for groceries but we wanted to get away which was the point and perfect for us! Easy peasy happy campers!

Very clean, well appointed home. Perfect for our family of four and little dog. Lovely beach across the road. Spent time in Saugatuck, South Haven, St. Joseph. House is a nice location to get to all. Plus vineyards around. Watched the sunset from the deck and down at the beach. Wanda was excellent in communication and help. We all enjoyed ourselves and felt right at home.

The home was lovely and right across the street from the beach. The kids loved to play the video games and use the beach toys. We all enjoyed our visit.

We had a great stay at Wanda's house. The house was incredibly clean when we arrived. Wanda even had the wood ready to go in the firepit before our arrival. All we had to do was light it when we wanted to enjoy a campfire. We watched the sunset every day on the back patio. We enjoyed beach trips to Roadside Park beach (right across the street), South Haven (15 min drive), and Rocky Gap Beach. We had two small children with us. We love coming to Lake Michigan every year. We would definitely stay at this house again!

Beautiful, Peaceful Getaway
The property was clean, quiet, and beautiful. Right across the street from a quiet beach on Lake Michigan. Excellent view of sunsets on the lake right from the porch! No neighbors!

The property was clean, charmingly decorated with plenty of space. The location was ideal, the cottage was on a hill, hidden in forest-y area with a direct view from the back deck to the lake and gorgeous sunsets. The beach felt almost private and it was worth the couple minute walk. We had a lovely time and are already planning next year.

Norwood Cottage was as lovely as advertised. My family, dog and all, came up for a few days over spring break. The house was spotless when we arrived. The instructions for entry were clear and concise. And with the exception of a big salad bowl, we wanted for nothing. The beach being just across the street was just great and the view of the lake from the bluff was wonderful to wake up to every morning. My kids appreciated the fast WiFi and smart TV. We can’t wait to come back!

This was our first time using a VRBO and we were very pleased with our choice. The pictures on line are accurate to what the cabin appears. The weather was very cold and windy so we were able to enjoy the fireplace.
The owner was very pleasant to work with and answered all of questions we asked prior and during our visits.

This cottage was rather disappointing.
I rented it for a winter birthday weekend getaway. I was especially looking forward to the jacuzzi tub. I am a bath-lover and was looking forward to a birthday soak. First, the hot water heater ran out when the tub was half-way full. I waited an hour and filled it higher. By then the original water was tepid. So, it was not a hot soak. As I climbed in I noticed dirt, grime , and hair stuck to the inside of the tub. Ewww. I told myself I had probably been in grosser hotel jacuzzis and got in. But then I turned on the jets… Nasty little islands of grime-filled bubbles gathered all around me. I had to get out and take a shower. When I spoke to the owner, Wanda, about this later, she said “Oh the jets are dirty” - not in an apologetic way, but in an explanatory way - as if that were a good excuse.
I was going to let that go. I don’t usually complain. But, the day after I returned home from my trip I received a very dramatic voicemail. Wanda said that she was at the cottage and that it had been left in an unacceptable condition. She was leaving a bad review of me as guest and wanted a high additional fee for cleaning. I was very surprised by this. I had not left any unusual mess. I did not mop the floors or clean the tub out, but I imagined that the original steep cleaning fee would cover these types of things.
When I called Wanda back I asked for the specifics that necessitated the additional cleaning charge. She said that there was dirt and debris in the bathtub and crumbs on the counter. This was too much. She also changed her story. She wasn’t actually there. She was FaceTiming with her cleaning people.
Besides all that, the place was ok.
There are cameras everywhere - inside and out, which I found slightly creepy.
There is a fireplace inside and a fire pit outside, but an exorbitant fee for using the firewood on premises. I went out and got my own.
There is a busy road between the house and the lake that the pictures don’t really show.
The beach on the other side of that road is small, and not particularly nice.
The nature options nearby seem to mainly be in the shadow of power plants.
Lake Michigan beaches are clean and beautiful a little farther north.
Much of the “art” in the cottage seems to be elementary school ceramics projects - cute, but not exactly classy.
If you do go, bring your own wine opener. A minor thing - but this was the cheapest one I’ve ever seen.

Nice getaway across from the beach
This is a lovely property and it's right across from the beach. We brought our little dog and it was very comfortably set up. Wooded property felt like a retreat, you can hear the highway when outside, but it became background noise pretty quickly, the birds and squirrels were lovely to listen to. View of the lake is very nice. Close enough to St. Joes/Benton Harbor and Coloma with grocery stores, wineries and restaurants nearby. Loved the multiple decks. The place was very clean. We enjoyed our stay. Wifi was stable and we both worked while there.
