Something to do for everyone. We spent time on the kayaks, SUP's, and the pedal boat all supplied by Kadow's Marina. When not on the water the kids enjoyed fishing from the dock for hours, watching the deer, otters, and osprey catch fish. Would recommend this stay!

Hosts Bev and Lloyd were over and above incredible! This was a girls weekend with our teenage daughters and slip Z was just as advertised, peaceful and at the end of a row of slips. You feel like your own private section where our group could paddle, kayak and sit by the fire. We truly felt welcomed and blessed to have spent the weekend at such a special location! Thank you Bev and Lloyd for a great experience. We will be back!

Bev and Lloyd were the perfect hosts. They were perfectly accomadating and the property was one of a kind. Life on a marina for a week was so much fun we decided we want to retire on one!

This is a unique and spectacular rental. Bev and Lloyd were such helpful and responsive hosts. It’s clear they love sharing their space and want the best for their guests. We stayed during a storm and weren’t able to explore the beach or use the kayaks so we will be back! Their art and studio is simply amazing, the house boat is spacious and beautiful, comfy, cozy and well planned for a large group. This was my families favorite get-away, we arrived right after a major snow and ice-storm and the hosts went above and beyond to make our stay happen. We enjoyed a fire on the covered porch and hope to do the same in the summer after swimming right off the deck!

We stayed at Slip Z for a staff retreat. It was the perfect blend of quiet relaxation and staff development time. The hosts are super to work with and gave us our space to enjoy the time while there. The kayaks were a fun distraction from work and the house is very clean, the kitchen well stocked and the beds comfortable. I would definitely stay there again when I'm in the area.

We held our staff retreat at Slip Z and it was the perfect setting to combine relaxation with staff development time. It's quiet, relaxing, and fun to use the kayaks and the hosts are wonderfully friendly people who give you your space to enjoy the time away. I will definitely stay there again in the future given the opportunity to spend time in the area again.

Seriously! This is the stay you’re looking for!
WOW! This location was beautiful, clean, secluded, and so FUN we never wanted to leave to see the town because we were having so much fun. The lovely hosts even offered us a ride on their Pontoon. We made so many memories and laughed like kids! We also got to see a lot of amazing wildlife! A true adventure! Bev & Lloyd, let me just tell you we haven’t stopped talking about our trip and probably won’t. Thank you for being such great hosts and providing such a lovely space!

River Rest
A lovely, peaceful escape on a Columbia River offshoot. Wildlife - birds in particular abound, and fishing looks promising from this floating house with access to kayaks and a paddle boat. A river beach and trails nearby (as well as restaurants and shopping not to far away) complete the experience.

HOME AWAY FROM HOME
Aloha everyone,
We are a family born and raised in Hawaii. The ocean is our second home, and moving to the mainland (away from the ocean) was hard. We found Bev and Lloyds river house, and stayed with our sons (1, 9, 14) in March. When I say, we Hawaiians bring the sun, I mean it. We had sun every day we were there. Yes, we also had rain, but we were grateful for the son. The kids loved it in march when we went. We Kayaked every day, and played games in the house. It was amazing. We booked a stay in June, and prayed for sun! The day before we left, it was raining!!! When we got to the river house, it was sunny!!! We had blazing sun for the 3 days we stayed!!! We are so blessed and lucky. Our family once again had a great time. We prepared a luau at the house and enjoyed a Hawaiian feast for my husbands birthday. Our children are just obsessed with the kayaks, the beach (caterpillar island), and the birds. You can see storks, bald eagles, and even otters everywhere. Honestly, we are in love with Bev and Lloyds house. There hospitality is out of this world. The house has everything you need and more. The most important part is the love that it is in the house. You can feel it. Take your family here ASAP. There's no WIFI (perfect for QT time). Bottom line is that if you live in Washington, or Oregon, you need to rent this house. You will be outside, living in nature (beaching ,tanning, kayaking, and enjoying life). Its only 30 min outside Portland. Listen, this place is a piece of home for us. GO RENT IT NOW.

Heaven on the water!
Ooo my goodness I don't even know where to start!! First of all Bev and Lloyd were the absolute best hosts I have ever experienced if we needed anything AND WE DID they were amazing at helping, even letting us borrow their meat thermometer for our dinner. I could go on and on but I will say this home will never disappoint! We are booking again hopefully for August. 😊

Hidden Gem
The house, amenities, and location were top notch. The house is situated at the end of the marina, so it gives you the perfect feeling of escape surrounded by beautiful nature. We all enjoyed kayaking and paddle boating. Thanks for sharing, Bev and Lloyd! My son is an aspiring artist and especially appreciated and explored your art, Bev!

Had a wonderful stay and I want to come back!
The house boat was perfect for my mom's 80th birthday. We had a small party with just family and she loved looking out on the water and hearing all the different birds. I have rented a lot of houses and this house was the most stocked house. It had everything we needed. Beverly, the owner made sure everything was perfect and even provided a wheel chair for my mom! It was a wonderful weekend and I definitely want to rent this house again so I can come back and kayak!! The house was very clean and beautifully decorated. Check in and check out was really easy too. Just perfect for an unique stay.
Thank you again Beverly for being an amazing host. It was a wonderful weekend.

Great Stay!
Thank you to our great host Bev and Lloyd. Lloyd met my brother and his family and transported all of their "stuff" on the boat saving them time at check in. The house was great! The kids thought there where ghosts that were opening the drawers in the kitchen, HA!! That is what happens when your house is on the water. My family had a great time catching fish off the dock and looking for the otters. House was well stocked with linens and kitchen items. A great place for my family to gather that was close to our parents, but not a stuffy hotel.

So much fun!
Our family had a wonderful time staying at this unique place. Our kids had a blast kayaking, paddle boating and fishing right off the deck of the houseboat. We loved how secluded it was since it is quite a distance from the other houseboats so our kids could have lots of fun without disturbing anyone. They became pros on the kayaks and, on our last night we paddled to the beach to watch the beautiful sunset. So many great memories! The wildlife was plentiful with blue herons and ospreys everywhere plus river otters, deer, bald eagles and turtles.
Our hosts were very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. Bev is an amazing artist too and we bought a few of her paintings and cards as memorable souvenirs.
Can’t wait to go back again!

Fun!
This was just the perfect vacation for three city gals! The house is very clean (spotless) and tastefully decorated. The hostess Bev thought of everything which has been a pleasant change from other vacation rentals we stay at. I couldn’t get over how well stocked the kitchen was and we never ran out of towels! All the furniture is comfy and felt new. My favorite activity was siting on the back deck and listen to the wildlife and catch a glimpse of herons, salmon, river otters, turtles, and deer. I loved every moment of it! The kayaks were a family favorite and we got the hang of it very quickly. On a side note, Bev is a very talented artist and I bought several pieces to take home with me for Christmas gifts! I was extremely sad to go and we are already planning our next trip out there. I was very fortunate to take my daughters out there to experience nature at its finest and make special memories that I will cherish forever.

Great experience!
The house was good and the equipment was in great condition. Our host was amazing too!
Space wise If you are 10 i would say it will be extremely tight. We were 7 so we were ok.
The location is amazing. Especially the fact that you can go to nice sandy beaches around Caterpillar island with the kayaks and swim!
The only challenge was the battle with Mosquitos. I should have expected that given you are in the middle of a river but I wasn't. So you better be prepared. Mosquito repellent, all kinds of lotions (for before and after being bitten) and make sure you don't open the doors after 6 :)
A mosquito net for the door (when open) like the ones on the windows, would be a good addition for the house to offer.
