I have had the most relaxing 12 days in this cute attic apartment. Beautiful styled, and quiet with great amenities and a friendly helpful host. Loved my daily strolls through the nearby Williamstown Botanical Gardens and along the beach waterfront.

The location is ideal for both the port, shops & eating places, and for Williamstown beach, esplanade & Botanical Gardens. The apartment is spotless, very comfortable & well planned. It exceeded my expectations.

Lovely apartment! But host/guest mismatch
This apartment was for my mother to stay in for a few weeks while she came from the UK to support us with our newborn baby.
The overall stay didn't work out as planned. This was a shame because the apartment was really beautiful and clean and a bit of serenity amongst the neighbourhood.
I want to give detail re: what went wrong so that it is clear to those reading this that it was an isolated incident for both host and guest.
My mother and the host Emily had a personality clash. Not everyone gets on with everyone so this is ok but the following happened:
During the specially arranged preview of the property with Emily and a family friend to assess suitability for my mother, it was implied that me or the family friend would be able to come to visit my mother in the apartment during her stay.
Upon arrival Emily clarified that this was in fact not the case as it was a home stay. After my mother asked and her question was answered, the response was accepted. I did however ask if it was ok for my husband and I to enter the property to help mother move in, which was accepted.
During the move in, I had accidentally parked my car in the host's driveway (9pm, new baby etc) and while showing my mother (not technically savvy) how to use the TV, the host clomped up the stairs (for want of a better phrase) and abruptly told us we had parked in the driveway. Straight away my husband ran down to resolve this but with the host still saying "see this is what I said about no visitors!!!!!" My mother and I were upset as this particular visit was prearranged and I'd then messaged to apologise about the driveway and clarify that we weren't visiting.
The host and my mother bumped into each other in the town the next day and the host apologised and my mother and she had a good chat. The air was cleared.
Sadly it appears that this incident caused an unpleasant experience for the host who was unhappy my mother was staying, believing that her manners were poor and the expectation of the stay differed from what was on offer. This overall made for an unrelaxing experience, carrying on post departure with a charge for wall painting due to a spillage that may have already been there. It feels personal.
I recommend the apartment still for a stay in Williamstown because it really is lovely and Emily is overall pleasant, has a lovely garden and little cat and the location is great. The price is also good.
We are just sorry it didn't work out for us this time.
