Great place to stay and very friendly host. The location was easy to find and located in a residential but quiet area. We loved the atmosphere of the home. Some areas need a bit of updating but overall we all really enjoyed our stay and the unique venue.

My family was very impressed with this property. Only issue we had was the blender bottom seal was shot and lead to leaking our mixed drinks during the stay. Kitchen was impressive. The black make up towels and tea kettle brought back my Westin work life. The bedroom with the jacuzzi was very comfortable and family had no problem with sleeping

Lovely place to stay. Several places to walk to, tons of room and plenty of dishes/towels, etc. had fun exploring all the areas of the home and loved the retro setup, catwalk and spiral stairs included! There are multiple staircases and plenty of outdoor deck space.

This was a perfect place for seven of us (5 siblings & 2 spouses) to gather for a family reunion. Plenty of sleeping rooms and gathering places in a beautiful setting among the trees.

The home is one of many summer homes in the Mt Gretna area. Home was very clean and comfortable, everything was as it was described. We had lovely evenings on the porch and slept well in the beautiful bedrooms. Loved the home and the area.

This place was large enough for multiple families. It was very clean and everything seemed close by.

Eight of us stayed here for a weekend. It was as advertised, with plenty of space for us to spread out in. Everything was clean and working well.
The one downside is that the children's playroom, which we had planned to use as a bedroom, was unusable due to a foul smell, as if an animal had died in the wall. We were nonetheless able to accommodate everyone and had an excellent weekend.

We had a wonderful time at this property. It is a well thought-out home and a perfect location for those who want to be active but I also want to have the tranquility of the mountains and scenic views.

I cannot say enough good things about our stay at the Swiss Chalet. The house is huge with lots of space to gather together. We sat 10 at the dining table with no problem. It was immaculately clean and thoroughly well supplied. The location is perfect. We went to Lancaster one day, Hershey another, and Lititz on a third day. Mt. Greta is quaint with some cool interesting restaurants and a world famous ice cream shop. Emily, the property manager was so easy to communicate with and responded quickly to our few inquiries. I recommend it highly.

We all really enjoyed the property and the location. Plenty of space so the kids and adults all had their own space. Would absolutely book again if we go with a large group.

Lots of room for our extended family; teens in the basement, older couple on main floor and the rest of us upstairs. We spread out and had a grand visit in spite of the frequent rain.

We really enjoyed our stay at the chalet. The indoor space was nicely suited for doing things together or finding our own corners to have some quiet time. The house is relatively close to others, but it doesn't really feel like it because it's a quiet neighborhood and there are a number of trees surrounding the chalet. Emily was very prompt in responding to questions we had.

The Swiss Chalet was perfect for my friends and I while we were looking for a place to get away for the weekend. Plenty of cool hikes in close proximity and spacious enough that everyone had somewhere to unwind at the end of the day! The house is huge! It feels like your walking through a maze! We had an amazing time here!

We had a terrific stay at the Swiss Chalet over Thanksgiving weekend... there were 8 of us - two teens and 6 adults. The house has a funky layout, but there was more than enough room to spread out; and the living and dining areas were the perfect size for all of us to hang out comfortably together. The beds were comfy and the sheets and towels were very nice quality. We did have trouble with a wonky oven dial the first night we were there, and after trying to troubleshoot over the phone with no luck, Emily came over and we got it sorted out... crisis averted for cooking the turkey for our Thanksgiving dinner the next day! Emily was extremely responsive and accommodating throughout the whole process. The kitchen was very well equipped, and the house, overall, was very clean. We enjoyed walking the quaint streets of the town, and exploring the area. I would definitely recommend the Swiss Chalet!

Lots of space for a big group and very comfortable for us. A quick ride to Hershey and the local stores/restaurants are great. Our hosts were accessible, quick to respond to questions and their recommendations were spot on.

The location of this house is great. It's far enough up the hill that it's a nice quiet area, yet close enough to walk to the Playhouse and Jigger Shop. We got a lot of great exercise walking. Be prepared to do some hills if you're going to walk.
We had a great time celebrating my mom's "70th birthday" all weekend by hanging out, cooking and having dinner together, and playing a lot of games. Our young adult kids even enjoyed some nearby hiking and disc golf. We had 8 of stay for the weekend and had plenty of room. We spent most of our time in the kitchen, living room, and on the deck eating lunch and enjoying the sunshine.
We had 20 people one night after my mom's party (which we held at Mt. Gretna Lake & Beach) to play games and eat pizza. There was plenty of room in the living room area to spread out and line the food on the island area. There's a pizza place right down the street to order pizza. (Mt. Gretna Pizzeria) They're super friendly and we liked their food.
We loved the house and the space. I do recommend that if you don't like a firm bed, bring a foam or pillow top for the mattress. The master suite has one and it made a huge difference, but all our other family members said the beds were way too hard. It was fine for them for a long weekend, but we would've brought foam had we known.
We ran out of eggs for breakfast and forgot to bring salad dressing. FYI - there is a small store/gas station within a short driving distance.
We would stay here again! It was the perfect place for our family. Communication between the host & I was great. Emily answered any questions I had leading up to our stay.

Weekend visit
We were in the area primarily to visit Hershey but found the area to be so inviting. Emily could not have been a better host. The house was all and more. Very clean, so many rooms and places to rest and enjoy.

Perfect family reunion spot
Nice, quiet spot right off Pinch Rd. Lovely walking paths through the woods. The house is well equipped and quite spacious. We had two couples each with one teenage child & they each had their own section of house with their own full bath. My husband and I had the master bedroom secluded, yet easily accessible from the others. Just a teeny word of caution that one should have good balance for the tiled (slippery when wet) steps when entering/exiting the shower stall. Everyone slept comfortably. Plenty of clean, fluffy towels. The kitchen was spacious and we enjoyed the gas stove and copious dishes. Two large dining tables were perfect for buffet set up and seating and we played some serious games til late. The deck is gorgeous with rotating shade and bird song filled the air. Living spaces with natural light abounds. Excellent, speedy communication with owners too. Just a win win situation.

Unique and spacious chalet
We had a beautiful experience at this quaint Swiss Chalet. The style and unique lay out of the house was fun and gave us the space we needed to prepare for our daughter’s wedding. The large kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our meals elegantly. We loved the outdoor deck spaces too. The spacious sitting room and many bathrooms were just what we needed to enjoy our stay in Mt Gretna.

Get away with friends
First - the photos of this property do not do it justice! The interior of this property is much nicer than the photos appear. This property made for a nice getaway for four couples. Each had their own bedroom and lots of room to move about. Our trip was late winter so the outside seating areas still needed some sweeping up, but we still enjoyed the warm winter sunshine on the upper deck.

great retreat house in Chautauqua of PA
very large house that can accommodate lots of guests comfortably. Very clean & well maintained property. Located 15 mins from Hershey and in the heart of Mt. Gretna which is a sister retreat to Chautauqua, NY.
Wonderful property, nice/accommodating owner. Straight 5rating from me.

The property was beautifully kept, clean and so much room for all of us. Was a perfect weekend to enjoy the Renaissance Faire and return to just relax at the house in the evening. Looking forward to next year!

Cute house
The house was very unique. For how many people can stay there, we had lots of room and storage space. We have a group of friends that get together every year and this place was perfect. When crafting we popped a breaker and the owner came rightover and helped us out.

Perfect house for our Family
For the last 10 years we have been taking a family vacation. Every year we rent a big house that will accommodate our group (this year 9 total). This year we stayed at The Swiss Chalet in Mount Gretna, PA. Of all the houses we have rented over the years, in many ways, this one best served our needs! The layout of the house allowed for individuals or small groups to have privacy; at the same time the gathering places (living room and dinning area) were big enough to comfortably accommodate us. Many times over the years houses failed to provide basic cooking and dining supplies to meet the needs of our group size (e.g. a house that claims accommodation for 10 people with 8 dinner plates). The Swiss Chalet was set up to accommodate occupants very well!! Emily was the perfect hostess; she was unbelievably available/responsive to texts! She was willing and able to accommodate a special request we had; and as a welcome gift she brought us the best ice cream I have ever had…Fox Meadows Creamer (I think). The Swiss Chalet is not fancy, but it was super clean and very accommodating! If you are a big group and traveling to the Hershey area…we recommend The Swiss Chalet. As an aside Mt. Gretna was a very pleasant surprise, a Chautauqua community that had a lot to offer

Friend getaway
The chalet was a really interesting house with lots of different areas to accommodate a number of guests and couples - enough room for privacy and for gathering! We enjoyed using the location to explore Mt Gretna and what the area has to offer.

Nice stay near HersheyPark
Our trip was a family gathering for 4th of July. We were 9 people total and needed 6 bedrooms so the house was perfect for a good amount of rooms, bathrooms, and places to spread out. We like to go to Lititz for fireworks and planned 2 days at HersheyPark so the location was excellent, and there is nearby light hikes that we took advantage of as well. The neighborhood was quiet and the kitchen good for cooking large meals. The layout of the house is quirky but functional, and Emily was very easy to get a hold of to ask questions both before and during our stay. The air conditioning is on several separate units so it took some adjusting to get the temp right but it was an unusually hot week for PA.
