About this cabin rental
A unique vacation experience awaits on this private 40 acre retreat. The property borders Lake Catherine, with 2000 feet of private shoreline, woods, creeks and trails to explore. This family friendly property is yours to explore and enjoy. (Children 5 years old and up welcome. If you have children under 5, see our cabin at VRBO# 2533404 ) There are picnic areas, fire pits, hammocks and “quiet spots” with benches for rest and relaxation. Kayaks, paddle boards and peddle boats are provided for your use. Enjoy fishing, boating, swimming, walking, wildlife viewing and picnics on your own retreat. Indoor and outdoor games provided.
The treehouse is designed and decorated to help you relax. It features a bedroom with a king bed as well as a loft with a queen bed and two twin beds. The full bath has plush towels with soap and shampoo provided. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes and utensils. It has a microwave, drip coffee maker, refrigerator/freezer with ice maker, griddle, convection toaster oven with air fryer and hot plates. A charcoal grill and picnic area is just outside. The tall vaulted ceiling and shiplap walls help create a light and airy feel.
The house is air conditioned, heated and also has an all season fireplace. The large wrap around deck has a porch swing and plenty of seating for outdoor relaxing or enjoying a morning cup of coffee with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and woods. There are televisions in the bedroom and living area. Games, books, movies and a Blu-ray player are available for your enjoyment.
The lake and property is home to numerous birds and other wildlife. Deer, squirrels, chipmunks and all birds native to the area are routinely seen around the property. We regularly see Bald Eagles! Listen for their high-pitched call when you are outside. Geese and ducks are seen daily on the water or flying overhead. There is a wide array of plant life on the property, from the hardwood forests to the wetland areas. In season, enjoy picking wild blackberries, blueberries and muscadines! Don't miss "Big Pine point", and one of the largest pine trees in the state.
The treehouse at Lakeside Memories is a great place for adventure and exploration or a place to get away and relax.
Feel free to bring your boat and use our boat dock. Beach towels, Life jackets and lake toys are provided.
Firewood is provided.
The treehouse doesn't have Wi-Fi. We like to suggest a better connection. Connect with your family and friends, nature or maybe yourself. This is a great place to unplug and relax. (There is good cell reception and your hotspot will work if needed.). There is an open loft and elevated deck so no children under 5. Children 5 years old and up are welcome!
FYI: Lakes Catherine and Hamilton have a "winter drawdown". Months of November - through March 15 of following year, the lake levels are lowered. You can still boat and use kayaks etc. but be aware of the change in lake level.

It was very nice.

Property was beautiful as well as the cabin! We had a great time swimming and kayaking on the lake. Very close to downtown Hot Springs. The hill down to the water is a little steep so definitely wear tennis shoes🤣 Overall, my family had a great time and made some wonderful memories❤️

We enjoyed the property. Quiet time with family. Time around the fire pit, water actives. Love that the property is gated for security!

Beautiful place to come and just relax.

We had an amazing stay! The cabin was so cute and had plenty of space and comfortable beds for all 5 of us. Be prepared for a long walk down to the water and to huff and puff on your way back up. But it is well worth it for the private swimming spot! The kayaks were fun and we loved jumping off the dock. You feel away from everything, but the drive into town is not far.

This cabin is so peaceful and beautifully decorated. Our grandchildren thought that the loft was the best place they’ve ever slept! The owners were quite responsive to texts and did what they could to make us comfortable. The grounds are set up for family fun with many kayaks, a peddle boat, badminton/volleyball, several chairs around the firepit and more near the lake.

Our family of 4 stayed for a week and could’ve easily stayed for another. The kids loved having the cabin loft as their area while I thoroughly enjoyed the spacious deck with incredibly comfortable rockers and porch swing. The cabin is so well stocked including enough bath towels for a week, unheard of until now and greatly appreciated. Having so many lake toys accessible is a huge bonus. The cove is excellent for fishing, paddle boarding and kayaking. Swim dock was convenient for jumping off and swimming. The cove is secluded making paddle boarding and kayaking great for beginners. Best family vacation spot!

PROS: This property was so unique. The back patio over the trees was so peaceful and pretty to sit on every morning with coffee. So many little perks were provided like smores and beach towels. It’s close proximity to town and the lake toys were fun!
CONS:The loft definitely needs some sort of gate to close when the kids sleep. It sleeps 4 kids and with that many kids in a small space and such a drastic drop, somebody will end up getting hurt. My kids ranged in age from 13-6 and it made me nervous the entire time.
The pictures seemed a little misleading about the location of the lake. It is close by but it’s not at the house like I thought. It’s a super steep gravel walk down and back. So steep that my car could not drive it. All of my kids slid at some point walking down or up and had bloody legs. If you have issues with walking or are older, getting to the lake will be an issue.
The AC unit is not big enough to cool the entire house. The loft was too hot for several of my kids to stay in and they ended up on the downstairs couch every night. The bedroom also sleeps really hot. We had the AC cranked as low as it would go and kept the doors shut and there just needs to be an extra unit added to keep up with the outside heat.

Our overall stay was wonderful! Directions were easy to follow and the check-in process was simple. The simple touches such as s’mores fixins was a thoughtful touch. We spent our time relaxing and exploring, taking the kayaks out and fishing. I would definitely recommend if you enjoy the great outdoors.

The Treehouse was great. We spent most of the time just down the hill, at the beautiful area on the lake. There were plenty of kayaks, paddle boards, and a paddle boat. It was also nice hanging out on the dock. We caught plenty of eating sized bream and a deer came out on the lake point just in front of us.

Mike and Lori are great hosts. The property is so welcoming. It’s a great place to fish, read and listen to nature as you connect around the campfire with family.

We came for work, and we brought our kids. We had a great time! There is so much to do on the property; the kids did not want to leave. The owners are terrific!

We loved this treehouse! The peddle boats, kayaks and chairs were just right down the road. We went fishing on the dock and caught a few fish. We will definitely be coming back!

Loved staying here. Came with another family that stayed in the other house. This one is decorated Lakehouse style and the other is Northwoods cabin. Ours had a beautiful wraparound deck with lots of seating. Perfect spot for kayaking and paddle boarding. Felt very safe letting our preteen & teen daughters paddle independently. The driveway is quite steep in several spots but we have AWD. I could imagine a 2WD car having issues. The host seems to have carefully thought out all details in the houses which is a nice touch. I was annoyed for a second that I couldn't find a dust pan but then I saw it tucked away. This property is within 15 min of town and a few things even closer than that. Very convenient location considering the privacy and size of the property.

Could not have found a more perfect place for my husband and I to stay for our 30th anniversary! The most coziest place ever! Very clean and not far from town. Enjoyed making smores that the homeowner left for us. We will be going back!

Absolutely loved this cozy cabin in the wood - felt isolated from the world and surrounded by nature, but was just a hop, skip, and a jump to good times in the town. The treehouse is adorable and the deck was wonderful. We'll be back!

This cabin and location were the perfect getaway to recharge and relax. Everything we wanted to do was easy accessible! Lori is an amazing host and has literally thought of everything you could need / want for your stay. The beds were comfortable, necessities well stocked, and very clean! Will definitely stay here again!

This secluded, beautiful property was the perfect getaway with our family. The kids loved the trails and playing by the lake with all of the provided lake toys. The cabin was welcoming, clean, and had the cutest decor! We loved sitting by the fire at night roasting marshmallows and swinging on the porch in the morning drinking our coffee. Loved everything about this trip!

Really enjoyed the natural beauty surrounding the cabin. Wish it had not been raining so much, but even with the rain the cabin was very comfortable and the stay was great!

This property was very clean and decorated very cute. There were extras such as s'mores making ingredients and board games that made the stay feel that much cozier. My kids loved the loft bedroom. While we normally choose cabins/condos with full kitchens and washer/dryers; we were still very pleased with our stay. It was perfect for my family that loves to get outdoors for exploring, hiking and fishing.

There are not enough good things to say about this property. The location is exactly what we were looking for: nature and peace. We spent most of our time in the river. Used all the lake toys. The kids had a blast! When you come to this property, make time to seat on the deck early in the morning, and enjoy the sun coming up with your cup of coffee or tea. You will not regret it!

The cabin was perfect! Little extras touches made it very nice. A little steep walk to lake but the kayaks and paddle boats were a plus! Overall great experience!

We absolutely loved our stay! Booked a quick trip before the kids went back to school and it was everything we hoped it would be. We stayed down at the water most days and kayaked, paddleboarded, and fished all day. Loved the swimming dock as well but you do have to either walk or kayak over to it. The house was clean and we made great use of the gravel area to grill, play cards outside, and sit around the fire. Overall amazing trip! Can’t wait to go back!
