We had a great stay at this property. House was as pictured and advertised. Plenty of space for everyone - we had ten people, adults and kids. Kids loved the bunk bed room. Kitchen is well-stocked and plenty of seating for big groups. Location was convenient for Shenandoah NP. Would come back!

I would not recommend this property to anyone.
The hosts were quick to respond when we notified them the day we arrived that the grill was dirty and broken and the coffee maker had old grounds left in it and was also broken. These old items were replaced with new ones the next day.
We also had to tell the hosts that several beds had no sheets and one bed had a fitted sheet over a dirty mattress with no mattress pad. We had to ask for more dishwasher detergent and kitchen cleaning supplies. The cleaning service was sent out the next day to correct these problems.
In addition to the things we reported within 24 hours of arrival, there were many cleanliness issues that we didn’t report like the dirty floors, dirty hot tub, dirty dishes and silverware, grungy cabinets inside and out, a dishwasher that wasn’t secured in the cabinet properly and had the wrong size basket in the bottom that fell down on top of the water sprayer and stopped it from working correctly. We also found an excessive number of spiders in beds and bedrooms sometimes getting in our clothes.
The day we checked out, my husband found a bedbug on his leg that could have only come from the rental. He also had several bites on his head, arms and legs. We made several calls and sent an email to the hosts letting them know about the bedbugs, but they did not respond. We don’t know if that problem has been corrected.

We had a family gathering for 17 people aged 12-80.
The house was as advertised; despite the large group, we did not feel crowded. Large open spaces upstairs and 1st floor were excellent. Highly recommend

Great cabin

The property was lovely and very accommodating. Located in Massanutten resort, it was exceptionally convenient for accessing attractions. Beds were comfortable and kitchen was well appointed. The hot tub was filthy when we arrived and they sent someone to clean it and while it worked for a few minutes, it got right back to scummy and gross within an hour. After communicating w host company and sending more photos, they sent a different person to clean it who did a more thorough job and it appeared to remedy the issue but it was at the end of our stay and we couldn’t use it. The only note I have to the host is to be sure to clean the lid of the hot tub and to prevent erosion of the material, you must leave it open after cleaning/shocking.
All of that considered, it was lovely, in spite of the disappointment of not being able to use the hot tub.

We are a large family, my husband and I, adult children, spouses and grandchildren. We’ve been doing a post Christmas vacation for 4 years now. This house was perfect for us. The kids loved the first level, the bunk room is amazing! We were all able to eat at the huge kitchen table and play games there as well. We skied, tubed and did the water park. All were in close proximity to the house. We mostly ate out or ordered in and the options were great. Would love to come back next year.

The house exceeded our expectations. Plenty of room to relax and play. We were all comfortable at the large dining room table. The host family responded to a few needs we had speedily.

Some of the floors had damage that needs to be repaired.

light on back deck had issues.

Plenty of space for our family of 15 with 8 young adults and teenagers. House has a great layout and flow. The AC broke the 2nd day of our stay. Fortunately there were plenty of fans and the nights cooled off. Out of anyone’s control. Hosts very quick and professional to respond to our questions or concerns. Our family definitely wants to return to Massanutten in the future!

We had a great stay. Owners are quick to respond and provide everything needed. Spotless, comfortable, and well-equipt home. My only minor suggestion is to put full-length mirrors in the rooms and towel racks or hooks in the bathroom off the kitchen that attaches to the room on the right when you walk in. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home!

Each year my husband and I try to find a place for our grown children and their families to come together to make memories for all. This year we chose Massanutten due to its centralized location for the majority. The area has so much to offer and the house provided enough room for all 13 of us. Excellent choice!

My large family rented this house to spend time together in lieu of gifts for Christmas and it was fantastic! We had more than enough space for everyone and were within walking/short driving distance of several resort amenities. Definitely would book again!

Cleaners failed to show up and have house ready for us at 4:00. They did come but it was very inconvenient for my family. Hot tub was filthy and required maintenance 2 times. Fire pit didn’t work. The owners did correct all of the issues once called but it was not what you want to deal with on vacation.
5.0 / 5.0
This house is absolutely beautiful! And everything you could possibly need is there. The communication with the owners was great as well. I was sent a welcome text shortly after arriving, with an offer to contact them for anything we needed. That was so appreciated! There were eight of us staying, all adults, and there was plenty of room for all. We got alot of use out of the gameroom, the hot tub and the large dining table where we ate our meals and played lots of games. We also hiked some nearby trails and visited the Elkton Brewery. We enjoyed our stay immensely and would definitely return!

I used this space to host a work team retreat. It worked well for our team and Massanutten is a beautiful four season resort. The table, main living room and kitchen worked well and there was sufficient space for our team to stay comfortably over the two days we were there. My original arrangement for this 2 day retreat fell through and the owners of this house were extremely responsive working with me to find a great immediate solution.
With that said, there was dog hair almost everywhere in the house, getting over everyone’s socks and clothing. Perhaps the last minute nature of our arrangement meant that the usual cleaning process was short-changed, but the member of our team who has allergies wasn’t able to stay there and we had to get a different accommodation for him.
The kitchen was extremely well stocked to enable shared meals and cooking of breakfasts and lunches for our team. The house helped us create an overall great experience for our team retreat.

Instead of Christmas gifts, we go on a trip with children and grandchildren, 18 of us! We loved this house, plenty of room and great BIG table where we could all enjoy meals together and playing games. It is in a great location!

Property was a short 6 min drive from Massanutten Resort. We found plenty of activities to do during our short stay. Cabin was decorated for the holidays which was unexpected, but a definite plus when we arrived. Check-in process was pretty straightforward as well as the check out procedure. We found a few renovations that needed to be completed as well as a deep clean. Overall we had a great time and would consider staying there again.

Amazing log cabin
This property was a beautiful log cabin tucked in the wooded mountains of Massanutten. I had so many favorite things about this house including the beautiful kitchen, the size of all of the beds, the balconies and the awesome fire table. The hosts' were very responsive leading up to our stay all the way through the conclusion of our stay.
I highly recommend this property for any Massanutten stay.

Never A Dull Moment! So Much To Do!
Our family of 11 stayed here June 25-30. The resort had so much to do so no one got bored on this vacation! We hiked in Shenandoah National Park, went antique shopping, and the younger crowd visited nearby breweries. On the resort, we booked an Escape Room, a Virtual Reality experience, climbed the rock wall, zip-lined, raced in the go carts, booked a Street Curling lesson, a hummingbird feeder class, a painting class, and a jewelry making class! For free, we watched the sunset on Massanutten Ridge Trail, used the gym equipment for work outs (rec center), played ping pong and racquetball at the recreation center, and enjoyed playing pool and relaxing in the hot tub at the house! There was something to do for all age groups ( 1 yr to 61 yrs)! The house was spacious with ample parking for 5 cars. The kitchen was stocked with lots of large pots and pans to cook in. We loved the long table that we could all sit at together for meals! Beds were all comfortable and gave a good nights rest.
With all the “good” things above, I hate to even mention the cons, which were minor. If it wasn’t for these things, I would have rated with 5 stars. The carriage on the dishwasher was broken, making it difficult to load and unload. It had to be propped up so the dishes would wash properly. The house is advertised for 18 guests, yet there were only 12 forks which we had to constantly wash. There was only one large cooking spoon, a small manual can opener, and no dustpan. Ended up buying these items at Dollar General! Also bought plastic forks! It was clean enough but could definitely have used a deep cleaning and a fresh coat of paint in a few places.
Aside from these annoyances, we had an awesome time and would definitely consider returning in the future.

Great for family reunions!
We had a lovely stay at Massanutten at Fireside Cabin. There was enough social space for our large group. We especially enjoyed the long dining table. Folks also holed up to catch up on some work in the breakfast nook. The kids loved the pool table, and the hot tub was great on our snowy Super Bowl Sunday. Thank you for a great stay!

It was a quick getaway before all of the holiday hustle with 4 teens.
Overall there was plenty of space and the convenience to all amenities was very close. The kitchen needs some love (no can open and freezer door is stuck), but plenty of other appliances. The hot tub is workable, but older and not ver big. I would go back.

Daughter’s College Dinner/Mother’s Day Celebration/Brother’s Birthday
Our family had an enjoyable stay in this home. I’ve lived in this area all my life so I know it well and have owned 3 properties in Massanutten myself. This home was just what we needed as far as space and the huge dining area was a bonus for all of us. The pool table was also nice and my daughter enjoyed the hot tub later in the evening. Thanks for the hospitality and I would recommend the property to those needing a large home.

Great time in McGayheysville
We really enjoyed our stay at this home. Overall, I would give this property a 4-4.5 out of 5 stars. The property management was extremely communicative and helpful. With any home, there are pros and cons. This certainly had many more pros than cons. I provided the manager with some suggestions - make it more kid friendly (limited cutlery, no plastic cups, bowls, plates, etc). There were minor cleanliness issues and the floors squeak if you are sleeping below and someone is walking around above. Aside from that, the amenities, location, price, etc. were all great. We got snow the day we were leaving and enjoyed sledding down the driveway. Something we will never forget! We also took advantage of the in-home chef and that was a great experience. I would recommend this home to others.

We enjoyed our stay at Fireside Lodge. Great location...close to ski slopes and tubing. We did have trouble trying to call maintenance for an issue. I never was able to get in contact with them, kept getting msg saying 2 was not an extension, when in fact I was dialing 802. Tried several times and kept getting same msg.
