About this cabin rental
THE AREA
Just a quick 2-hour drive away from the DC metro area, so whether you are looking for a fun-filled adventure or just a relaxing weekend away from the hustle and bustle, this property will enable you to truly customize your vacation. The fresh mountain property is located just a mile from the main Bryce Resort Lodge. Our warm cozy cabin offers a rustic feel nestled among the trees with modern accommodations.
THE CABIN
Located a mile from the Bryce Resort, this 2900 square foot, 4 bedroom cabin is a perfect place for multiple families to chill out. The home is unique for the area because its layout provides four families to have privacy and common spaces together.
There are 3 levels offering a total of four bedrooms and 3 baths. The main floor has an open concept kitchen with a dining area that fits up to 10 people. There is a bedroom with a queen bed and a second bedroom with a full bed and bunk beds. There is also a bathroom, office, screened in porch, and deck on the main level.
Downstairs there is a bathroom, bedroom with a full bed, enormous rec room with a pull out twin bed and queen sofa bed. There is also a Foosball and air hockey table, and let's not forget and indoor corn hole set up and a bump out sitting room. Guests will also have access to a laundry room if they need it.
The master suite on the third floor has its own private deck, full bathroom, queen bed, and twin bed.
The cabin offers central air conditioning for maximum comfort in the summers. For large groups, the parking area allows for up to 6 cars.
Guests have Wi-Fi and a new home office in case you can't step away from your work during your mountain retreat. Expanded cable as well as streaming apps are available on the televisions.
The updated kitchen has a new refrigerator and dishwasher, under cabinet lighting, additional cookware and farm sink. The kitchen is stocked with everything to make your stay comfortable if you choose to work your magic in the kitchen. The renovated screened in porch and private deck feels like you are back in a tree house from your early years.
The cabin became DOG FRIENDLY as of 9/2021 (seems like this pandemic brought more furry friends to families). There is a limit at this time of ONE dog per stay with a pet fee of $85. There are also some restrictions for your pet if you choose to bring him/her (not allowed on furniture or bedding/preferably crated if no one is in the cabin).
THE SURROUNDING AREA
A three minute drive will take guests to Bryce Resort where they will find the first tee of the golf course, mountain bike trails, the ski lifts, or the recreation area which offers a pro shop, hiking, zip lining, private airport, and basketball courts. The Copper Kettle Bar & Lounge at the main lodge offers food and drinks 7 nights a week. Events at Bryce Resort are year-round (check web site)
Lake Laura is a short walk from the house and offers: Fishing, Swimming, Paddle Boating, Kayaking, Beach Front, and Hiking Trails.
Centrally located to more than 7 different wineries and vineyards including: Shenandoah, Cave Ridge, Wolf Gap, Kindred Pointe, Muse, Wisteria, and Cedar Creek. Delicious breweries such as Swover Creek, Ridge Runner Farms, Woodstock, Bald Top, Box Office, and Siblings' Rivalry are also in the area.
Easy day trips in all directions include: Multiple Cavern Tours, Museums, War Memorials, National Parks, The Shenandoah River (Fly Fishing, Rafting, and Tubing), The Blue Ridge Mountains, Historic Sites, Orchards, Farms, Antique Shops, Shenandoah Music Festival Grounds, Harrisonburg, and James Madison University (just 40 minutes away)
There is a grocery store (Food Lion) in Mt. Jackson by Interstate 81, which is about 15-20 min from the resort. Once in Basye, there is local convenience store/gas station that has a small selection of a bit of everything (basic grocery items, drinks, frozen pizzas, toiletries, etc). The RH House (also walkable) offers great wine, upscale appetizers, and unique delicious fare. The resort has a restaurant in the Lodge.

We do an annual ski trip to Bryce with a growing group and this place was perfect. It fit everyone very comfortably and had everything and more that we needed for our stay!

The location is beautifully situated in the mountains with comfortable, spacious, and clean house. My family had a great time relaxing and kids enjoyed playing around. The house was fully stocked with toys and games so my grandkids were not bored as it was raining, and we stayed mostly indoors. This is one place that we will consider returning to.

Nice stay. House was as described. Big, clean and well stocked. The owners were quick to respond to my inquiries. Check in and check out were straightforward. My family had a relaxing time.
I took off one star for the location/surrounding, not the fault of the owners. 1) My family (while on allergy meds and staying mostly indoors) had worsened symptoms of respiratory allergies and my little one developed skin rash. 2) the 2 closest restaurants were open only part of the week or by reservation only. This wasn’t too much inconvenience to us when it happened, as the weather was good that day and we just drove to the next town.
Overall, we still had an enjoyable time and were happy with the house and the process. I would wholeheartedly recommend this house to friends without allergies.

this is our 3rd year staying at the house for our summer vacation with our family and it's wonderful. it's so close to everything (lake, golf, Smileys!) and easy to get to the wineries and Harrisonburg. The house is big and accommodates all ages. We could watch the World Cup together and play games; and the kids could play ping pong in the basement. Such a fun week and we're already looking forward to coming back next year. thank you!

This clean and spacious house offered all ages in our group the opportunity to enjoy the sanctity of the mountains for much-needed rest and relaxation. Its location is situated within short drives to so many different activities such as caverns, Lake Laura activities, wineries, mini-golf, shopping, covered bridge, Route 11 potato chip factory, Bryce Resort, and so much more. The owners were very responsive before, during and after our stay, and you could tell the great care and attention they put into the home being a place where their guests feel welcome... from the welcome messages on the board to the shower essentials stocked and waiting. And all of us loved the ping pong table, but no doubt the screened in porch and back deck were the most lovely locations that will surely take us back to this treehouse destiny! Thank you for providing the gathering space for our family where we rejuvenated our spirits!

When we got there, everything was super clean! Everything functioned like they said it would and the house was a lot bigger than we thought. We had absolutely no problems at all and we enjoyed ourselves. We stopped down at the creek down below for a little while it was definitely a good time. Be careful and take a walking stick lol we used the grill on the back deck and the game room was fun also! Thank you for allowing us to stay!

We really enjoyed our stay in this home. The home is quite spacious and a great layout for a few families to stay. The basement is huge with lots of space for the kids to play. We also enjoyed the large dinning room too. We would definitely book this home again.

I had never been to this area of the state and this was a last minute booking. The home is spotless and looks even better in person. I loved the area! There is plenty to do even in the spring. I am looking forward to a fall visit or earlier if I can. Its a large house so you can find plenty of space for your family of just be alone if you need some quiet time.

Our group of 8 (tweens, teens, and parents) absolutely adored our stay! The bedroom lay out was great, there was tons of space both to spread out and to hang out as a full group. As someone who cooks a lot, I was also especially grateful for the well-appointed kitchen that enabled us to make delicious meals for a large group. And the hosts were incredibly responsive and helpful whenever we had any questions. Can't recommend this house enough!

The property is beautiful. We really enjoyed ourselves, it was nice getting away from our busy life for a few days. We enjoyed a walk to the babbling creek, it was really nice. We could have used a little more curtain coverage, but it was ok.

We had the best time. My husband, son and fur baby stayed for a surprise birthday 🎂 getaway and we’re so happy! I loved the location and the fact it snowed the day after my birthday was icing on the cake haha. We can’t wait to go back and enjoy the cabin again!

We had a great time! The house is really close to the ski resort, so it was a great location and was exactly what we were looking for. Easy directions to get there. We had 2 families w kids and adults and it had plenty of space (the master has a closet that fits a pack n play if anyone else does that) and very pretty views. It was really clean and had everything we needed to cook and enjoy our time. The hosts were really responsive with the few questions we had a head of time. The only comment I’d note is the main tvs don’t have apps ( they have cable and dvd players). Not a big deal at all though - lots of games and ping pong and places to relax - but for little ones it helps to plan for that so adding it here. We’d love to go back!!

We had a really nice time. Maureen was super responsive and had everything we needed to know at our finger tips. House is really spacious, something for everyone. Only downside is the beds are really uncomfortable. New mattresses would be a good investment. But definitely enjoyed our stay! Thank you Maureen and Jim

We just enjoyed the weekend here with two families (and a dog:) and had plenty of space to spread out, relax, and spent time together. Also enjoyed the lake and vineyards near by, as well as Freeds biscuits - which is walkable (don’t miss their cinnamon buns!).

We stayed in this property for a weekend. We were a party of 5 people. The property is spacious and super clean. The kitchen is fully equipped with pots, pans, and utensils. We used the kitchen to make a couple of meals. It worked out very well. The four bedrooms are located on three floors. We enjoyed the privacy. The bathrooms are all clean and have enough towels and supplies. We had a great time here. Thank you for making our stay so wonderful and memorable.

This cabin rests over a beautiful plot of land and there’s a stream just behind it. Inside, there was lots to do! A big game room where everyone could play darts together and even lots of couches to watch movies together on. The kitchen was stocked well with so many pots and pans, it was so helpful to our daily cooking. The hosts were very responsive and even helped us find activities to do while staying at the cabin! My friends and I all enjoyed our stay here, we would definitely come back another time!

Anniversary
The property was wonderful. The only hitch was the printed code for door was different than the one sent by email. It took us a Lou time because we had the hard copy. Also we call owner with some questions and never had a response. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the house. Appreciated that bath items were provided

perfect weekend getaway
my host was very responsive every time i asked her anything. She even told me about local events. My family and I was very comfortable and there was enough room for all of us. We were close enough to all the parks and caverns and even DC. My daughters boyfriend even proposed on the balcony. Absolutely one of the best weekend getaways..

A fabulous weekend getaway
We came back to Maureen's house fro another fabulous weekend at Bryce. The house is so big and there is room to be together and do you own thing too. We walked to the lake, walked to Smiley's custard and loved the new putt putt course.

The house is in a great location close to all the various activities for all seasons. The house is very nice and is perfect for large and small guests. For us it was the lake and the bike park that kept us busy. I highly recommend this listing for a prefect getaway.
