There were some bugs in the downstairs bathroom. The drain in that tub did not drain very good. The door on the half bath would'nt close. Some of the jets on the hottub did not work.

We had 9 family members in our group ranging from 4 to 63.
It's a beautiful old home with very ornate woodwork through out.
Very roomy, and comfortable.
The location is 100% perfect. The front porch faces the water, late at night or early mornings you can hear the water rushing over the waterfall. The property manager responded immediately to any questions.
We will definitely stay here again when we return to the area.

Good location right in the center of town. Easy in and out for the stay or no issues. Older home feel with necessary modern updates.

When we got to the house the temperature in the house was 86, the outside temp was 82. The AC was set on 55 though. Call management they sent maintenance who tried to fix but wasn’t working. Had to wait till next morning for AC guys. Even after ac was fixed upstairs rooms were still too warm to sleep in. Our mattress in downstairs bedroom needs to be replaced, sags in middle, we kept rolling into each other. Honestly for the cost would not stay here again.

Worked perfectly for our friend group of 6. Within walking distance of the falls, hiking and restaurants in town. We loved the covered porch and deck areas! Wish we had more time to use the hot tub. Highly recommend!

Easy to get in and settled
So cute and accommodating and would go back any time!

Great Victorian home and property. View was wonderful. We really enjoyed our stay. Smooth check in and check out process.
One improvement suggestion is to make hot tub easier to access. We weren’t able to unlock the hot tub unfortunately and had been looking forward to using that amenity.

Enjoyed a weekend away with friends at this house. Nice space, great location in the center of town. The hot tub was a nice perk. The house itself is as pictured, but it's a bit tired in places and could use a refresh. Also, it was on the sparse side - no rugs in the bedrooms, little décor, and no kettle for tea! Otherwise, a nice place to stay and explore a lovely area.

Great place! Great location! Thank you

Great location to stay at Ohiopyle and check out the area. The house was clean with a funky layout. I would suggest hanging space in the bedrooms or hooks in the bathrooms for wet towels and bathing suits.

We all took pleasure in discovering the little joys and fun areas of this property. Whether it be the river across the street, the lovely outdoor amenities, or the clean/cozy inside. Truly a great home.

The river house was an excellent experience and you can’t get a better location. This was our second trip there and we will be back. The host and the entire OVR are fantastic and very helpful.

House was exactly how the pictures look on VRBO, but the location is a lot further than indicated to Seven Spring Ski Resort. Took 35-40 minutes to get there each day. This house is located in a beautiful summer town, not so much a winter town. There is not much around at all to eat or shop. Could have done without the rodents, but it’s an old house. The hot tub jets only worked about half as it should. Dishwasher and coffee maker did not work properly. The hiking trails and river across the street were picturesque.

As a half-way meeting point for our family members, Ohiopyle lends itself to our family's love of great parks and beautiful areas to seek adventure.Adventure it was, as we had traversed through the huge "Bomb cyclone" of a winter storm to get there... and dealing with negative extreme wind-chills as well. Nevertheless, the beautiful Victorian home welcomed us, even with a fully decorated X-mas tree.Very nice mattresses and pillows, fully equipped kitchen (we love to have cook-offs), and a hot tub (when the temp. finally warmed up some)to relax in.This home is in the center of it all...a simple walk to one of the greatest parks around, simply breathtaking! We appreciated the winter quiet, as we are sure that home would be in the middle of the hustle-bustle in the summer time. It is located between little coffee shops, pizza places...even the volunteer fire department (luckily that remained quiet).Hosts were attentive. Maintenance crew were on stand-by on such a cold trip! House was spotless and beautiful.I had noticed there were no tables in the living room when searching this property on-line, and commented on this. When we arrived there were tables and proper lighting- much appreciated during the winter cold! We loved playing games and eating our feasts around the huge dining room table, where the woodwork and leaded glass was amazing.

We had a lovely time visiting Ohiopyle around Thanksgiving time. The house was very clean. Beds were comfortable. There was plenty of seating options in the living area and dining areas. The house stayed surprisingly warm considering that it is an older home. There was beautiful original woodwork throughout the house. The kitchen had everything necessary, but if you prefer to not use nonstick pans and plastic serving ware you might want to consider bringing some of your own cookware. The code for the hot tub was not readily available and I had to email about access so we didn’t get the opportunity to use it unfortunately. The town is quaint but many of the shops and restaurants close in the off season (there are a few that stay open). We visited two Frank Lloyd Wright houses while visiting and really enjoyed the tours. Would stay here again if we ever visit Ohiopyle again.

We had a lovely time relaxing as a family after two long days of biking. The hot tub was a nice treat, and it was truly magical to sit on the porch at night, watching the stars and listening to the falls. The house was clean and well stocked, and the location is perfect. We missed the best leaves by a week or two, but that just means we'll have to come back!

We had the absolute best time at the River House !!! The house was located right in the middle of town, walking distance to everything! It was so clean and had the necessities for our trip !! The house itself has a neat historical appeal , we will definitely be back !

Good location, with the river just across the road. Easy access to the highway, etc. The house was VERY roomy! And despite being located right on Main Street, it was nice and quiet.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay:)

The property was quite attractive and well maintained with reasonably complete kitchen and other amenities. The Ohiopyle Vacation Rental managers were too restrictive in providing information and their rental agreement asked for rediculous info like DR license number, BD, with overly bureaucratic conditions.

The property is beautiful inside and out. It was very clean and had everything we needed. We loved hanging out on the front porches in the evenings as the weather was very pleasant during our stay and the hot tub was conveniently located next to the porch area. Plenty to keep you busy in the area but also very easy to relax because it’s still quiet. Definitely recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay at the River house. You can see and hear the river from the front porch, and it’s walkable to all the local restaurants, shops, and some trails. Parking was easy. The house is old and super interesting. Lets lots of light in, no blinds for those looking to sleep in. The outdoor fire place was a nice touch since you canes use the one inside. The doorknob on the side door is broken, which was kind of a pain. But overall has the basics we needed to enjoy or trip.

Stayed for 2 nights in July for a rafting trip. The house is located dead center of town, so everything is a short walk. Breakfast sammies, coffee, pizza, beer, general store, the rafting company, everything is less than a 2 min walk. House can park maybe 5 cars, which is more than enough. Best part of the house? My friends and I all think its definitely possibly haunted, and that made the house all the more fun. Spooky closet to the crawlspace of doom, old timey grand dining room (love the wood work), portrait of an elderly couple casting their glaze at you... baby crib in a small dim enclave. As we were eating dinner, I kept thinking we would start hearing Harry Belafonte music, and we'd all start dancing, possessed. Love this house. My friends did too. The town is quiet at night, and the evening sky turns shades of purple as the sun fades, but because you're in a valley, the hills around you are silhouetted, its a pretty legit view. My friends and I are coming back next year.

Great Location
We booked this house due to the great location. For that, the property gets 5 stars. The deck is wonderful and offers great people watching and calming sounds of the flowing river. We enjoyed sitting on the patio during a rainstorm as well. There was an issue with the AC when we checked in, called service and they were out within 15 minutes and fixed the issue. Where the property falls short is with the interior finishes. There are window coverings on most windows, but they are a lace material and offer little privacy. We hung sheets on the windows in the rooms where the kids slept. We didn't prepare any meals in the kitchen, but it seemed to be stocked with the necessities. The island countertop had a heaving section of laminate that we worked around. The AC did cool off the main floor, but the upper level was very hot. The house had a cooling unit upstairs that would have been useful if the hot air was vented to the outside. For an older home, it was mostly comfortable and we spent a lot of our time outside.

Great house! The property has an ideal location in the middle of Ohiopyle. We walked to shops, restaurants, hikes, and rafting. Huge front porch, lots of seating for guests. Online photos of the house are accurate. In addition to the three bedrooms, there's a sitting area upstairs with a pullout sofa that was comfortable. Couches are also big and comfortable. The hot tub is really cute with string lights and we used it several times. We definitely plan to rent again when we return to Ohiopyle. Note - we stayed late May when it wasn't too hot in the day and was very cool at night. The AC didn't adequately cool the upstairs during the day, even with a portable unit in one of the bedrooms. Not sure how easy it would be to cool the upstairs during hot summer months. House could use a second unit for upstairs.

I rented this property to have a reunion with friends I haven't seen in over 40 years. The location is great, the accommodations comfortable and very clean. The cons were that the TV is internet and had no instructions for operations; the thermostat was internet and had no clear instructions. Fact is, it was not working and the temps dropped our second night there. We had no heat. We called the call center and were told someone would call. While we were at dinner, a maintenance man showed up at the door, couldn't repair the heat and told us a repairman would come the next day. No one called ahead and it was up to us to be there to let the repairman in. We had only a few days together and some of our time was spent waiting for repairmen to do their jobs. Two of my friends cut their time short because it was too chilly overnight for them to stay. Things happen and I understand this. But the responsibility for waiting for repairmen should not have fallen to us, the guests. I did notify the host of this issue and received an apology. Given that there was no direct way to reach someone and that calls promised from the call center were never returned, I'm not sure I'd consider renting here again until they have a better system in place for responding to issues that arise.

The River House is a great place to stay. It accommodated 8 people easily. We used it as a central spot for riding the GAP trail over 4 days. visiting the 2 Frank Lloyd Wright Houses, and hiking. The house was clean and well equipped and the location was perfect. Listening to the falls while sitting on the front porch was a wonderful experience.

Porch sitting perfection. Beds were comfortable, place was extremely clean. Just a couple of things need attention: no water pressure in kitchen, bees swarming outside, lack of rods in closets and decks need painting. But an amazing location!
