About this house rental
Set near a small copse of trees at the edge of a farm, Wrangler’s Den looks out over fields of open pasture to Robin Hood’s Sherwood Forest. With a resident herd of deer that wander across the fields and around the farm, buzzards overhead and badgers, there’s plenty of wildlife to look out for.
The name and ranch theme is inspired by owners Charlie and Caroline - check out our 'meet the owners' tab to find out why! One thing a ranch would have is space and inside or out, there’s heaps of room here. Inside you can cosy up on the sumptuous sofa, enjoy suppers around the dining table, or simply watch flames curling around logs on the fire. Outside, the porch is a great spot for relaxing with a drink and taking in the views of the forest. In the evenings, sitting around the campfire we can imagine what tales were told around the campfires of the men of the forest, back in Robin Hood’s day.

Very nice cabin and location, the photos don't do it justice.
Very nice property, lovely views. The cabin was very clean and well looked after. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. I wish we stayed longer than 2 nights!

Short break on route to Northumberland
We had a fab stay, despite the rain. The children loved the open garden/paddock to play in and enjoyed seeing the sheep over the fence. It was lovely to cosy up by the fire in the evening. We were joined by a field mouse on our last night, who was surprisingly noisy for such a small creature and not afraid to show his face in the kitchen whilst we sat by the log burner. 🐭

Magical Christmas location
It’s extremely difficult to summarise my experience at the cabin, and something you’ll probably struggle with too if you stay.
I was attracted to the cabin by the pictures, however even they don’t do justice to it.
Ken was wonderful and greeted us with bags of firewood and a cat - with whom I later fell madly in love with :)
The cabin had absolutely everything we needed. You can get to the forest within a 5 minute walk.
The sunsets were beautiful, and as photographer I couldn’t have asked for a more aesthetic interior or surroundings.
The only downsides were that it didn’t snow, and I couldn’t take the cats home!
Long story short... I’d highly recommend the stay :)

Sherwood Forest adventure
The cabin was warm and welcoming and the perfect cosy place to come home to after exciting, adventurous days out! Lighting the fire and relaxing on the big luscious sofa before retiring to the incredibly comfortable beds, then waking up to the beautiful view of the forest made this break away perfect. We highly recommend Wranglers Den

Beautiful place
The cleanliness of the lodge was perfect. The bed sheets where clean and fresh. Everything we needed was in the lodge. The views are picturesque and the walks were amazing.
We loved cosy nights by the fire. Just a perfect weekend all in all

Peace and quiet, walks and bikes.
Thoroughly enjoyed our week at Wrangler’s Den with my family. A real chance to unwind, made even better by the fact there was no TV and intermittent 4G. It enabled us to read, play games, walk and bike loads. The rustic cabin is really cosy and was the perfect size for a family of four. Down a long farm track it boasts amazing views of the back of Sherwood Pines, which is walkable across the field and stream and brings you out at the disused railway track - take a GPS so you don’t get lost. Kids fell in love with a friendly grey cat called Dusty. Ian was there to great us and was just a phone call away if we needed anything. Can’t wait to go back next year.

Much needed break for two
lovely property, very quiet, lovely setting sitting watching the deer until it became too dark to see them any more.
The facilities were great, because of the weather we should have brought a fan. but it was so peaceful and relaxing just what we needed. would book again especially looking at winter with the log burning fire.

Perfect escape from city life
Cabin was very clean and had everything we needed for 3 adults in self catering Accommodation (fridge freezer cooker utensils crockery tea towels loo roll hand soap shower towels, etc) view of meadow and field with pine forest back drop and we saw a herd of dear and had lots of twittering barn swallows and a friendly cat for company. Farm shed and house to one side of the property (less then 100 meters away but we never saw anyone). All in all a lovely stay and only 15 min drive from the Sherwood Forest visitor centre. Also Newark-on-Trent is not too far away and looks beautiful!
