The property is super cute with great amenities and conveniently located close to Whiteface and a short drive away from Lake Placid. The suite was warm and spacious.

The owners were kind enough to provide me with new pots pans and crockery so I could cook xmas dinner!.
The decor is dated but they seem to be renovating!

Brookside is super cute and close to Whiteface but also close to Placid. It was the perfect in between location. Check in was super easy, the price was great, and the suite was roomy.
The suite could’ve been a bit cleaner. There was some crumbled chips between the comforter and sheets of the master bed. Some tufts of hair along the walls in one bathroom. On our last night, the heat completely stopped working. My boyfriend and I woke up shivering (note: we did not report this as we were getting ready to leave).

Very clean and accommodating

The property was nice and clean and the facilities good.
Check-in was by a ring doorbell system rather than personally. We had to go back to ask for the WiFi password and for advice about the nearest food stores and restaurants, as there was no information in the room.
The property was very tired looking and I did not like the bright green tablecloth that didn’t coordinate with anything else in the room - maybe that is just me being fussy! room. It would have been good to have had extra pillow/cushions.

so so. great place if you don’t care about the simplicity of it or the lack of matching furniture or flooring or the building in different states of repair. enjoyed being next to a river and tributary and being able to sit by them.
flies in my room

Beautiful location on Ausable river. See my pic.
Price was higher by $50 through Booking. com than what I could have gotten from the hotel's website link.
Wifi was excellent . Two bedrooms, full kitchen with big new fridge and cooking utensils. Two full baths both with tubs.
But...rooms had no AC! (bunch of beat up old fans instead) and windows didn't open easily. Found two expandable window screens but no built in screens in windows. Had to keep entry door open to get air. Not safe practice but room was shut up and 80° when I arrived.
Might be fine if you had a group of 3-4 rugged persons that needed to crash for skiing or hiking. Would not recommend August stay in hot weather.

cute Brook behind the hotel, close to where we were hiking. Had the right number of beds for us. Loved the large fridge and freezer. Keypad entry was great. They provide fans, which was nice.
it’s a bit run-down. Keep food in the fridge because there are mice (we saw them). It has stains on the carpets, and a smell to it. it just could use updates.

beautiful location.
no air conditioning, bed uncomfortable. toilet too low. my husband and I are both with poor backs and legs.

This is an older motor inn that has a retro feel... However, it is clean, comfortable, and spacious for three people... could have accommodated two more in a stretch... a little off the beaten path with a lovely brook and patios away from the noise of occassional passing cars... Each room had its own toilet and shower. Friendly staff.
The retro feel is charming... A few updates might be nice though.

The room was comfy, it needs some repair. I think they are working on fixing things. It certainly looked that way.
The shower leaked water all over the floor. We had plenty of towels so we were able to use them to keep the floor dry.

The hosts were extremely friendly and accommodating. I needed to alter my reservation cutting it much shorter than booked and they went out of their way to ensure the time I stayed met my needs as well as working w/ me to alter my reservation. I could not speak more highly of them.

the location was great for my hiking trips
the wifi buffered at times; there were spider web in my room; though I am not a coffee drinker but the coffee maker was dirty and there was this noise from the room on top from me especially when I came back from an exhausting day and can’t deep relax due to it.
