Villa Due Marine is a splendid and luminous apartment situated in a quiet location, at a short distance from the famous Piazzetta of Capri. It sleeps four people. From Villa Due Marine you will enjoy a spectacular view of the sea. Villa Due Marine is 80 square meters (860 square feet). It features a panoramic private terrace with a view of the sea, air conditioning (please read description below to check in which rooms the units are installed), winter heating and WI-FI Internet access.
You will be in a pedestrian precinct, in the heart of Capri, where you will find restaurants, shops, public transportation and the tourist port. You will reach Villa Due Marine going up a public walkway that includes approximately 160 stairway steps.
You will not need a car to stay at Villa Due Marine (and nonresident's cars are generally not allowed).

Villa Due Marine overlooks the so-called "red house" where the beginning of the '900 stayed the founder of the Soviet Union Vladimir Lenin, as guest of the writer Maxim Gorky (father of realism) who already staying in Capri, remaining until 1913, along with his partner, actress Maria Fedorovna Gelabuskaija. Gorky had met Lenin in November 1905 in Petersburg, in the preparation of the Bolshevik newspaper Novaya Zhizn ', and had supported Lenin in 1907, in London, at the V Congress of the Bolshevik Party and, when, shortly after, tsarism restores full autocracy dissolving the Duma as the governing body and Lenin was forced to move away from Russia in exile, Capri welcomed him allowing him to remain in a long stay who shared with the writer until 1908.
Terrace
The terrace is 30 square meters (320 square feet) large. It is partly shaded by an elegant retractable awning. It is equipped with armchairs, as well as with a table and chairs. From the terrace you will enjoy a breathtaking view of the sea.
Living Room
The living room is paved with majolica tiles. The ceiling is vaulted. The furnishings are elegant and refined, featuring some antique pieces, and include two long sofas. In the living room you will also find a cooking area. The kitchenette is equipped with a two-burner electric cooker, an electric oven, a small refrigerator without freezer, a microwave oven, an Italian-style coffee-maker, an American-style coffee-maker, a toaster and other small appliances. There is also a washing machine (hidden in a cabinet), an iron and an ironing board. The dining table can accommodate six guests. In this room you will find a television (local channels). From the living room you will be able to enter the terrace with a view of the sea through a double-glazed French door. The room also has two windows. It is equipped with an air conditioning/heating unit.
Bedroom 1 with en-suite bathroom
You will be able to enter the first bedroom from the living room through an access area. The bedroom has a matrimonial bed (160 cm/63 inches, wider than a queen-size bed). The furnishings include an armchair and a desk. From the bedroom you will be able to enter the terrace through a double-glazed French door. The room also has a double-glazed window with a nice view of the sea, and it's equipped with an air conditioning/heating unit, and you will also find a safe. This bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, equipped with a washbasin, a toilet, a fully enclosed shower and a hairdryer.

You will be able to enter the second bedroom from the living room through an access area. We enjoyed the villa very much. The views are stunning and the outdoor terrace allows guests to enjoy a glass of wine and/or meals as it is furnished with a comfortable sectional and a beautiful dining table.
The villa itself is very nicely appointed. The owners provided every possible amenity to make their guests comfortable. We appreciated the filtered water among the many additional amenities.
Nadia [the caretaker] was so kind and helpful. She met us as we arrived and helped us to the apartment. She responded to our texts in a timely fashion. She is a gem!
The Summer In Italy staff went above and beyond! We appreciated the information not only about reaching the villa, but also a bit of information about what to expect. Quite funny that people can expect things to be exactly like they are in their country... so that was interesting. We love Italy as it is! Thanks to Luca who emailed me and checked in. Very organized operation. I will recommend Summer in Italy... actually already did to a visitor from LA! We look forward to returning.

The apartment is well appointed, well maintained, with the most spectacular views from the terrace! We loved every minute of our stay here. It's perfectly situated near the piazzetta - close enough to be convenient, but on a side pedestrian street so it's very quiet and removed from business of Capri.
Even though we were there in October, the A/C was definitely a plus during the warmest part of the day. All the appliances are modern and quite state of the art (faucet that provides cold distilled and sparkling water, ice machine that makes ice quickly, retractable terrace awning, convection stove top).
The apartment is furnished in a very intriguing manner - - very interesting paintings, sculptures, figurines, furniture. Things were collected from around the world and in all honesty, I wish I knew more about when and why and how they were acquired! A little bit like a museum (in a good way!). The bathrooms are on the small side (as typical of Italy), but very clean and practical. I appreciated the shower dispensers with body wash, shampoo, & conditioner.
The apartment was well thought-out for guests. It had welcome / starter food & beverage items, so we didn't have to find a grocery store immediately upon arrival. Just another one of the touches that made this apartment a truly wonderful place to stay for a week.
The property manager (Nadia) was excellent. She helped us plan our arrival including where to find the baggage porters, then met us at the Funiculare exit, and introduced us to the property. During our stay, she provided lots of good tips and she made a private boat reservation for us, as well as several dinner reservations and the departure baggage transfer.
But what makes this apartment a superstar is the terrace with THE MOST AMAZING VIEWS down to the sea on BOTH sides of the island! I left the curtains open in our bedroom and the living room so I saw that view first thing when I woke up. We sat outside with our coffee watching the sun rise slowly move across the island, we sat outside with our apertivos and watched the sky change colors as the sun set behind Monte Solaro, and we sat outside in the evening after dinner when the island was quite and sparkled with lights.
I would go back in a heartbeat and you will LOVE this apartment!
*** One thing I want to mention though - - it is indeed 160 steps up to the apartment! This would not be a good rental if you have any mobility issues.

Beautiful large bedrooms, well appointed with all of the basics. Really great powerful AC in every room (this isn’t always a given on Capri). Couldn’t recommend this place more.

Villa Due Marine was exceptional in every way. The view from the villa is breathtaking. The accommodations were clean and extremely comfortable. The location was perfect for easy access to activities on Capri so that it was not necessary to have a car while we were there.
We received excellent service in helping us make the travel arrangements to Capri as well as helping us to make reservations for things to do while we were at the villa.
We look forward to coming back next year for a more extended stay in June.
Summer In Italy was extremely responsive in a timely way to all emails that I sent prior to our arrival. I really appreciated the ease of communication and their level of service.

This was incredible! The pics were exactly as is but in person it's nicer. Checkin checkout was simple and as nice as the place is, as beautiful as capri and its people are, the star was Nadia! Never have I rented vrbo or bnb where I felt like my stay was the most important thing. If this place wasn't good (which it's fabulous) Nadia is a wonderful girl who was pleased to help and trust me I asked for lots. Having her and staying at this place was like going to a 5 star resort with a butler. Not saying that I used her as a butler but anything I asked she would handle.
To the property owners: you have amazing place, and the neighbors below are wonderful people who we enjoyed talking with daily. Thank you for sharing this place with me.
To Nadia, what Else can I say. You are a star and love what you do and it shows. A young lady who gets it beyond her years. If I ever bought a place there, I would only want you to handle it. I

Both bedrooms have plenty of closets/dressers, two full sized bathrooms, hair dryers, strong AC throughout the apartment, a washer, a sunshade for the outdoor space, and a smart TV in the living room. The owners also stocked the kitchen with everything you'll need plus some basics like coffee, milk, soda and prosecco. Nadia, the property manager, coordinated our arrival and was a fantastic and helpful resource throughout our stay.
We loved our stay here and had no issues, but you should know that it is 160+ steps straight up to the apartment and if you are not athletic or in good shape, it will take a lot of getting used to (the view is worth it) or you will decide you can only do it once a day and plan accordingly.
Also, if you have luggage that you can't carry up 160 steps (anything more than a backpack or shoulder bag), arrange to have the baggage taken to the apartment from the port/marina for 25-30 Euro per bag.

An excellent property all round
An excellent property all round. Very well maintained, some excellent features (loved the TV with 'frame' technology, the electric canopy for the terrace and the ice maker).
This is a little gem of place, yes there are a lot of steps, but it's all worth it for that view! You can see both sides of Capri and the main Piazzetta with bell tower below. The location is good too for accessing the main areas, shops, bars and restaurants (once you're down the steps of course).
Highly recommended, very well equipped and comfortable villa.
Some nice little touches from the host/hostess too on arrival which were greatly appreciated. An excellent property. Thank you for sharing it with us!

We loved our stay at Villa Due Marine! The apartment is beautiful and exactly as pictured except a picture can't do justice to the magnificent views. The only downside to this property is that the amazing views come with the price of a pretty intense climb up steep streets and several flights of stairs that is difficult for people in really good shape. While my family felt like it added to the sense of adventure, I would not recommend it for anyone with health issues (heart, weight, knee...). We would definitely book this property again!
The owner and caretaker were extremely helpful and went out of their way to make sure our stay was comfortable. They provided wine and snacks for our arrival and even provided a counter-top ice maker when my husband mentioned he likes ice in his drinks. They also booked porters to help us with luggage, which was critical.
I was very happy with our experience.

Gorgeous 2 bedroom apartment with incredible, panoramic views! Lovely appointments and furnishings. Bright, light and spacious. Right of the Pizziata, square! We had a magnificent visit. 5 gorgeous days with our family. Made many meals, kItchen is bright and functional.
They did a lovely job communicating with us and welcoming us to the appartment!

This property is one of the top VRBO properties I have ever stayed at. The panoramic views from the patio area were truly incredible. The pictures displayed on the website are as accurate as you see when you walk through the front door. Both bedrooms/bathrooms were very nice and clean. Both Queen beds were nice and comfortable. Kitchen/Dinning/Living rooms were very nice. The property host went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. Five Stars out of Five Stars and gets our highest recommendation. Thanks Bobby C.

First of all, we really loved to stay at the Villa due Marine although you have to be tough enough for the lots of stairs you have to manage to get up to it. But it is worth because you will find a well and beautiful equipped apartment with lovely views to "Downtown Capri", to Marina Grande and Marina Piccola, to the Faraglioni and up to the high mountain ranges which divide Capri from Anacapri.
The terrace is gorgeous and you will feel free with no one to look at you.
The owners Fernando and Hans are lovely people who will help you freely and quick with everything they could do.

I never write reviews but felt I had to in this case. So there are a few steps involved getting there but well worth it when you enter Villa Due Marine and see the views. We are definitely coming back.
The owners greeted us and had gone to the effort of getting some fruit and putting some essentials in the fridge and a bottle of prosecco in ice.

The views are magnificent, breathtaking! The apartment is gorgeous with beautiful art work, furniture and appointments.
We were greeted with a bottle of Prosecco cooling on ice, fresh fruit, coffee, refrigerator stocked with yogurt, juices, water and milk. We really appreciated this unexpected treat that made this place so special. The kitchen is small - so we just fixed breakfast and lunches.
The only challenge about Villa Due Marine is there are lots and lots of steps to get to it. Several flights of stairs. We did not mind, as it helped burn off all the delicious food that we ate!
The owners were so kind and we will definitely visit again!

We just returned from a vacation in Italy which included a week at the Villa Due Marine. It is a beautiful property... Exactly as presented on the Summer In Italy web site.
The location of the property is very convenient to shops, restaurants and attractions, and at the same time is quiet and peaceful. Access to the property does involve climbing several steps, however the prize at the top is well worth the effort.
The owner and housekeeper are wonderful.
I would definitely consider staying at the Villa Due Marine again if good fortune allows me a return trip to Capri.
