The cottage has one bedroom with a queen bed and an additional sleep area in the divided living room with twin bunk beds. All linens are included.

There are two public boat launches nearby (West Swanton Boat Access .2 miles and Tabor Point Boat Ramp 4.2 miles).

Campbell's Bay Campground (6mi) is also close by for Pontoon, Motor Boat, or Canoe rentals.
West Swanton Orchard (.9mi) is a great stop for apples, soft ice cream and souvenirs.
Green Mountain Stables is directly across the road where visitors can watch the horses training or take riding lessons, and Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center is also just one mile away.
The cottage is centrally located within the best Pike, Bass and Walleye fishing grounds on the lake!

We so enjoyed our time right on the water very quiet. Plenty to do nearby if you want to explore. The cottage was very clean, well maintained and comfortable. Everything we needed for preparing meals, hanging outside and on the beach. Especially enjoyed our walks on the road along the lake front felt safe all vehicles were very courteous to foot traffic. Josie is an exceptional host super responsive!

The main thing is that I would consider staying here again and would recommend it. While we enjoyed the rural aspect of the house and its situation on the lake, you will have to drive to most dining locations and for groceries. Although the home was clean, it lacked some better amenities. All of the dishes and glasses were plastic, and the bed, while comfortable, would have been much more so with better sheets (cotton) and pillows. Because of the rain, the beach was not available to us until the last two nights of our stay and then we were finally able to enjoy the kayaks.

A very comfortable cottage with beautiful sunsets on Lake Champlain. Josie is totally accommodating and responsive. A great farmers market, ice cream place and market all within a 5 minute walk or drive. We had a wonderful 2 week stay.

This property is a great place to stay if you're looking to hike some trails and kayak on the lake. It is a 5 minute drive from some nicely maintained trails yet still away from any cities so it's nice and quiet. Everything was very clean and we had everything we needed for lour stay. I would definitely stay here again

Great little camp on the water. Well equipped ( you don’t need to bring anything but your clothing!) and clean. Nice patio off the living room that overlooks the water. It has outdoor dining, grill and fire pit.
The camp is on a ledge and the stairs to the beach are steep. Not for anyone who has mobility issues and wants access to the water. Everyone else will have a great time. Kayaks, beach loungers, and a fire pit await on the beach.

Great little place to stay during a hot and muggy week - the a/c kept the place cool and I enjoyed the deck area outside.

We had a wonderful time at this cabin right on the banks of Lake Champlain! It's so kind of the owners to have coffee and creamer available. We enjoyed kayaking a lot. The only problem we had was we arrived at night and couldn't find the address for 156. It's not listed on a mailbox but it is on the cabin itself.

From the electric heaters to cozy up on a chilly October night to having grilling utensils at our fingertips … the location features a beautiful sunset off the water… highly recommend!

We had a wonderful time enjoying the lake and Quebec at this cottage- swimming, grilling, sunsets and games on the front lawn. Cottage was updated and clean, with good wifi and properly equipped for a long stay. We hope to stay here again and highly recommend!

We were 2 adults & we had lots of space inside and out. Unfortunately the lake was very high so we could not enjoy the beach. We made lots of use of the fire pit at night. There as a nice patio table and chairs with a view of the lake where we enjoyed our meals. Would recommend it to anyone!

We had a great time. There was a problem with the outdoor grill, but Josie took care of it immediately by getting a new one as a replacement.

Third time staying here and first time bringing our dog. As usual, we enjoyed time on the lake, kayaking & swimming and watching the dog live his best life! Due to recent flooding in the area the lake was abnormally high and covered the beach area but the lake was clean and it didn’t affect our level of enjoyment. Thank you Josie!

We were very pleased with the property especially all the amenities provided in quantity (soaps, shampoos, coffee, many kitchen items, bedding, towels, and water). There were games and books to pass the time on rainy days. West facing, beautiful sunsets. Fire ring on the beach and next to camp. Kayaks, lifejackets all provided. Final bonus was very pet friendly. Two boat launches nearby and store within walking distance.

Our host was great. We had minimal contact purely from having everything we needed. Bring water shoes, the "beach" behind the property is mostly shale rock, and can be sharp in spots. Also bring lots of bug repellant and any other bug solutions you want. There were a LOT of nats, may flies, moths, some mosquito's but not a ton. This has more to do with the area than the property itself though.

We had a great time at the lake and with the kayaks. Sunsets are amazing. Josie is great and has everything together. Missiquoi nature preserve trails are very special. We enjoyed biking the beautiful Missiquoi valley rail trail that runs from St Albans to Richfield VT along the river and farmland

Perfect short vacation spot!
My husband and I loved our stay here. The area is quiet and peaceful and the people are friendly and helpful. The view behind the house looking over the water is amazing. The house was tastefully decorated and clean and comfortable with all the necessities. Josie responded very quickly to any questions we asked and had good recommendations for places around to eat at or visit. It's close enough to some super darling little towns and attractions and the Ausable Chasm which is a must visit if you are up that way!

Hello relaxation!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Josie was super responsive throughout the whole process. The home was easy to find and clean. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals (pans, basic condiments, etc.), and we appreciated the coffee. The view of the lake and sound of the small waves crashing on shore were very peaceful. Our dogs enjoyed the yard and walking around the neighborhood. The evenings were surprisingly cool, so adding some throw blankets into the house may be useful. Thank you for sharing this home!

Second Time
This was our second year staying at Josie’s lakeside bungalow. Once again, we had an amazing time! Kayaking in the lake, watching sunsets, ice cream down the street, visiting friends in Burlington and having them visit us. Bungalow complete with Floats, noodles and kayaks for extra lake fun! Highly recommend! Thanks, Josie!

Love this spot
It's a good drive to get to Burlington, but such wonderful little gems in this area! (Pea soup kitty, Hudak Farms, Champlain islands, Martel meats) the cottage was perfect for us, Josie was great with communication and the sunsets are phenomenal! Exceptional vacation?

Lovely gem off the beaten path!
We (my husband and dog and I) had such an incredibly relaxing and lovely stay here. Despite being on a lake in mid-summer when the kept-in world is all going out, this area remained peaceful and not over-run by tourists, and peaceful is exactly what we wanted. The location is just incredible, on a quiet road (great for running/biking), with views of the lake from the house, the patio, the landing, and of course the lake. We used the grill most nights and ate dinner outside, and the cute market is just a 2 minute or less walk, and it was so easy to drop by to get a few things. The house was cozy and had everything we needed, came well-stocked, and really just made "being there" easy. As other reviewers say, the neighbors are right there, but you really don't ever notice the way the layout of the property is, so we felt always remote and private, adding to the incredible peacefulness of staying here. I really hope we can come back, this is truly a gem and I'm so grateful we found it.

This was our 2nd year staying at Josie’s lake house! First year in the sunset cottage 2 and it did not disappoint! Very clean and she supplied everything you would need, just like home! Just bring food! The location is awesome and so quiet and relaxing! We had great weather and our dogs and us enjoyed the lake everyday! Definitely going back next year!!!

We absolutely loved our stay at the aptly named Sunset Cottage. Exactly what we wanted!
This was a very relaxing, very charming place to stay! Such a lovely and inviting environment. Perfect for a couple and out dogs, plus friends who visited for the night loved it! Despite the closeness of properties, we enjoyed privacy and the beach was just perfect! Can’t wait to stay again.

Incredible time with family, the get-away we so desperately needed. The sunsets were incredible. The kids enjoyed the games, kayaking and bonfires at sunset. Josie has created such a relaxing cottage. The coffee and decor, full kitchen, comfy spaces and outdoor patio were just so perfect. Can not thank her enough! Highly recommend!! We will definitely be back!

Just perfect!
We (couple + 5yo) had a very good time at cottage #2. Between dipping in the lake, kayaking, and watching the sunset from the deck, we also went on hikes nearby at the Missisquoi wildlife refuge. Everything was just right and we loved every second.

My husband and I, and our dog, had a great time at the cottage! Excellent location right on Lake Champlain with beautiful sunset views. We enjoyed sitting down by the lake and kayaking as well as taking day trips to go hiking. Josie was a great host and has made the cottage quite lovely. Highly recommend this property!

Swanton Lake House
The location is beautiful! Right on the lake. Kayaking was lovely. Fantastic sunset views! Very quiet area close to a nature preserve. Cute decor in the cottage. Very cozy. Josie was very accommodating, even had a bottle of wine on the dinning table when we arrived. There are steps down to the beach but they are very sturdy with handrails and 2 outside patios. We had a very nice stay.
