The bed was comfortable, the breakfastbuffet was okay.
There are no utilities, not even handsoap... No fridge or iron... very basic, a bed and shower with towels and a tv.
3.4
All the staff was excellent. Location is very near to the cruise. The room was clean and spacious
3.4
Close to the Rhein river and to the boardwalk-type walkway with restaurants. Breakfast was awesome.
Did not like that the train ran right past our room and since no air conditioning we had windows open so it was VERY loud and noisy!
Right next to train tracks.
No shower enclosure so was difficult taking a shower as water got all over.
3.4
Location.
Hotel door closed until 4pm so don't arrive before 4pm!Breakfast could be better.
3.4
Good value
No soap provided and noise from trains. Air conditioning or at least a fan would have made stay more comfortable.
3.4
Nothing
Strong smell of tobacco throughout the hotel.
Dated decor.
No soap in the room.
Creaky floorboards and bed.
Right next to a busy railway line with constant noise which shook the building.
Unable to open windows because of the noise of the railway so we were sweltering all night.

A wonderful traditional hotel. It is situated right near the river with excellent restaurants within walking distance. The highlight of the day, however, was the excellent breakfast that was served in the morning. Excellent food an excellent service all the way through.
3.4
Kindness and space of rooms, breakfast was good!
Style a bit old-fashioned

Breakfast was one of the nicest part of the stay at the hotel. Fair choice of breakfast options and helpful staff. I really liked the view on the nearby mountain, river and trains passing just by the window.
It was a bit cold in the room. If you don't love trains or you need to focus, they might be tiresome as the hotel and particularly this room is just by the train tracks.

We knew that the hotel was a good location, but didn't realize how close it was to the Rhine, boat service, and walking to Klopp Castle and other sites. The manager was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was wonderful. Wish we had planned an even longer stay!

location is excellent - and I didn’t notice any noise from the train tracks that run alongside the river and the street. The breakfast was simple continental but with lots of varied breads meats cheese and cereal and yoghurt options - even a soft boiled egg which was amazing and perfect breakfast fare. Room was a single but very well appointed - bathroom and shower were absolutely fine. Keys are given to the external doors and one can enter easily when staff are not around.
Not sure if this can be changed but as an English person I don’t like the square lumpy pillows. I had to ask for a hairdryer as the rooms don’t have them but I was given a perfectly good one. I was a little surprised and put off by the strong smell of cigarette smoke which may have come from the kitchen next to the breakfast room, but have to say there was no hint of that in my room.
3.4
Position, shower, cleanliness , wifi
The confirmation said check-in was from 4pm. What it didn't say was that if you struggled along the mile from the station with all your luggage at 1.30, you would be locked out until 4.
There was no safe nor tea-making stuff, and the hotel was strictly b&b

Stayed here many years ago. Very large room and bed with small seating area, adequate size bathroom. It's located 2 min walk from the bank of the river Rhine which has a lovely promenade. Easy access to the town, riverbank and train station. Parking available within 1 min stroll away and is only €4 per day. Breakfast is acceptable with a fair selection of choices.
Having stayed here before it didn't really seem to look any different than it did over 20 years ago inside or out! We'd hoped it would bring back fond memories. Unfortunately, there was a definite smell of cigarette smoke in the outside corridor and my attempts to open windows in the area to help were quickly found closed again. It's also right next to the main railway line (which we knew) so the constant trains may well keep you awake. Yes, it would be a cheap budget stay for perhaps a night but with better options available I doubt we will be staying again.
3.4
There’s a garage for bikes. The breakfast was okay-ish
Receptionists weren’t friendly by any means. Walls made of paper. Plus you really experience the 3D immersion of trains passing by your windows. No teapots to get hot water for evening tea. The furniture is from 70s or 80s.
3.4
location was close to the river and boardwalks
although it’s a family owned and driven hotel with long tradition, it would deserve some renovation.
3.4
Wonderful breakfast. Very clean hotel.

Good value for money and central location.

Except from the greeting when I arrived, the staff was nice. When they rushed me out of the room to clean in the morning, they let me stay somewhere else until my time to leave.
Unfortunately the old building is not well sound and heat isolated, which meant that it was freezing when I arrived in my room (the heating didn't turn on until some time later) and the constant train noises were pretty loud. As I wanted to do a bit of work in my room, this was not very comfortable.
The breakfast was not great either, maybe I chose wrong, but the bread and cornflakes were not fresh. I could have gotten some fresh toast though, should have gone for that.
3.4
Low price and good internet connection. Ok for the price of the hotel. Central location
The entire hotel has carpets. Quite old rooms with poor sound proofing. Some noise from street and railroad. Staff was unfriendly.
3.4
The hotel provided everything as advertised. Friendly and helpful staff.
3.4
Location to river and parking good; communication in other languages good
Might be 150m from the Rhine but only 10m from an extremely busy 2 way railway with heavy traffic and freight trains. On Friday night I lay awake counting and there was roughly a train per minute. Could put pillow over one's ears but nothing can block out the vibration. One of our party decided to sleep on the floor on Saturday night and put the mattress against the window,
For 2 nights hotel provided each guest with a tiny sachet of shampoo but no soap, and this in a time of Corona - totally illogical when at the same time we had to ear face-masks and spray our hands.
Sorry for this - we are unspoilt, and have never complained elsewhere but frankly the three-star assessors must have ducked in and out between passing trains and not had to shower nor be a little critical of interior design. Not the high German standards we were getting used to.
3.4
The rooms are really big and comfortable.
The Hotel is very well located a few steps from the River.
There were not so many options for breakfast but for the price it was absolutely ok.
