About this house rental
When you find a house that's carefully cleaned, conveniently located and considerately appointed, then your vacation is destined to be a great one! ShoreBreak is exactly that. We aim to make life easy so you can just pack a bag, grab some groceries and everything else will take care of itself.
We opened this house as a rental in August 2020 and we have consistently worked to make this house a place where it's easy to relax and enjoy Topsail Island. ShoreBreak is a traditional H-plan house with 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, with a central living/dining area. All of the rooms are on one floor for convenience and safety if you're worried about stairs. ShoreBreak has a pleasant screened porch that faces the ocean with an outside living and dining area, perfect for rainy days or a place to cool off from the sun. The back deck is a terrific place to look out over the new backyard pool. Our backyard is equipped with a wonderful 5 ft deep pool with a huge tanning ledge, a gas grill, picnic table and lounge chairs.
What about the beach? It's across the street! There's a well-built public access across the street. There is no public parking at Access 25 so you don't have to worry about crowds of people. You'll just see your neighbors nearby, which makes it a great place to have plenty of room on the beach with all of your family and friends.
ShoreBreak is located about 1 mile south of Surf City Pier, the general area of shops, restaurants, parks, and other activites. It's very convenient. This area is a great place to walk, run, bike and look for adventure. There are plenty of places to explore (like the pier) or to relax (at a restaurant, bar or coffee shop with live music and refreshments).
We want you and your family/friends to come to ShoreBreak and relax. Find some time to play a game or read a book. Enjoy the outdoors when you swim in the pool or find shells and sharks teeth on the beach. Grill dinner by the pool or enjoy a breeze on the screened porch. We provide a lot of amenities to make your vacation simple. And if you're planning on a day on the beach, we provide a beach wagon, chairs, buckets, and boogie boards for your convenience.

(You'll have to look up Operation Bumblebee and find out the history of Topsail.) On the north side of the house, there is a bedroom with a king bed and a bedroom with a queen bed and a bathroom in between. On the south side of the house, there is a bedroom with a queen bed and a bedroom with a bunk bed (twin over double, over twin trundle) and a bathroom in between.
We provide: bed sheets, bath towels, beach towels, toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, cooking basics, some cleaning supplies, and a first-aid kit.

The house was in a great location - across the street from beach access, with a heated pool for when you’re not in the mood for salt and sand. There are lots of great food options nearby for cooking or eating out. We had a great time!

Our annual family vacation has traditionally taken place at one of Mark and Trudy’s beach homes. Over the years we have built traditions and made memories in Surf City and their homes. We recommend anyone who wants a small home for their family, with close beach access, a pool and a personal touch from Mark and Trudy.

We had an awesome time on our annual family getaway. Our group consisted of adults and young children. This was our first time staying here, but hopefully not our last. The house is exactly as described and exceeded our expectations. Super convenient to the public beach access & private pool- what else do you need?! The pool/beach/outdoor toys were a fun bonus that the whole family enjoyed. It was so convenient to have extra chairs, floats, etc. The home owner had great communication and gave very clear instructions. I highly recommend staying here.

This place is very well appointed. Owners are easily obtainable but not overbearing. Loved the one floor plan and layout. The place would seem small based on the square footage but it totally worked for 8 adults and 2 children. Pool outside is awesome. Lots of equipment to be used. How well this is equipped made it easy for us since we had 2 couples flying in. Made it a lot less to pack.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was better stocked than any other property we've stayed at over the years. There were so many things for the outdoors: bikes, tons of boogie boards, rafts for the pool, beach towels. Kitchen had everything we needed. It was especially nice that there was enough paper towels, toilet paper, kitchen soaps to last the week so that we didn't have to worry about it. The pool was very refreshing and there was plenty of seating. It was so nice being so close to the beach.
We appreciate how clean the entire house was. The owners have thought of everything! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

This is our second time staying at Shorebreak, and we loved it! Easy walk to the beach across the street, and a beautiful, clean pool in the backyard for when you need a break from the ocean. The home itself is well appointed, very clean, and felt like home away from home! Very close to town as well. Highly recommend this home!

Beautiful, we’ll maintained house - every inch of the house (indoors and out) is maximized for utility and comfort. Absolutely the most well-appointed and well-stocked of any vacation hours we’ve ever rented - every staple already on hand. Great location, great place, great owners, etc!

We had an amazing vacation celebrating a sweet 16 and family. The owner was very responsive and a pleasure to communicate with. I recommend this home highly. The living area was clean and they thought of everything from games to cooking needs. We enjoyed the pool , finding shark teeth, long walks and biking. The ping pong table was wonderful. This house was beyond our expectations.

First thought is I would definitely recommend booking this house with Trudy, as it was perfect for us. We were looking for a typical beach vacation with a location that was almost beach front but also included a private pool. We had a family of two children and 4 adults stay for a week. The beach was less than a 2 minute walk from the house, as the access point was just across the street. The town activities like food, fun, shopping etc was either a 5 minute drive south or 5 minute drive north depending on where you wanted to go.
The house itself was very accommodating and it was exactly as described. The check in process was easy and the checkout process was easy and the short list of 8-10 items was reasonable. All four of the bedrooms were nice as they had basic furnishings but still roomy enough for luggage, pack and play, etc. The living room/dining room/kitchen was nice because of the open concept and H style house setup. There was a screened in patio deck out front, and then an uncovered deck out back. The neighbors on both sides were around but no bother at all.
Overall the house had mostly everything we needed to get going including most kitchen items for cooking a variety of meals at the house. For beach days, there were plenty of chairs, kids toys, boards, a wagon, etc. For the backyard pool there were also plenty of floating devices and toys. In house entertainment included smart TV's, puzzles, games, books, etc.

The property was everything we hoped for, and then some! Everything you could want for a stay at the beach was there. Even had a set of cornhole that we took advantage of. The owners literally thought of everything that a family could want to make for a worry free vacation. It was simply great.

This property is very nice! Plenty of amenities, kitchen well stocked, beach chairs, pool floats, towels and lines provided. I’m a quiet location and just a short walk to the public beach access. Great place for a home away from home.

We really enjoyed our stay. We had everything we needed and were very comfortable. We loved the location. The beach access is very close by. We loved the pool and sitting on the screened in porch listening to the ocean waves. Our dogs had a great time too! The only downside is that the yard is not fully fenced along the thatch and trees. But, we were able to make it work so that our escape artist dog didn't get out. We highly recommended this vacation rental. We would love to come back again.

Great Vacation & Amazing Beach House
This was our first time staying in Surf City, we typically have stayed on the North end of the Island. What a nice quite location it was. The beach house was fantastic. Very clean, spacious, well-kept and stocked with everything you could possibly need. We loved the fact that the owners provided linens, paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, kitchen basics and beach towels. The storage room was filled with everything needed for a day at the beach. We were even greeted with a welcoming package from Trudy & Mark. Access to the beach was right across the street which made it so easy with the grandkids. The pool was great especially the shallow end which was great for the grandkids and the screened in porch was a plus for eating dinner and relaxing in the evenings. Trudy was very attentive and accommodating to all our needs. She was quick to respond and even provided recommendations for dining and places to take the grandkids. We really appreciated Trudy & Mark's hospitality, they truly thought of everything. I am so glad we chose ShoreBreak for our vacation! We were so impressed with the entire experience we have already booked our vacation for next year. I believe we have found a new beach home for our family to vacation at. Thanks again Trudy & Mark!

Great vacation
We had a wonderful time at Trudy’s property. It was a beautiful spot. The house was clean, provided linens and towels were clean. It was steps from the beach and the heated private pools was perfect for the late April weather and ocean temp. Trudy was helpful with suggesting some things to do and places to eat. It was such a relaxing week and so nice to get away to such an easy destination.

The property was amazing and all you need with its own private pool and a hop and skip away from a very roomy beach. Topsail Island itself is beautiful with a pier and many beach amenities to enjoy. If you’re looking to do some shopping or eat at a familiar chain restaurant, you’ll only need to travel about 40 mins north or south.

Three High School friends reuniting to celebrate the life of one who passed with her friends and family this weekend and we couldn't have been any luckier in booking our stay here. With all of three of us having had 40+ years of beach vacay rental homes, we were in agreement this was the best experience most of us had ever had in our lives.
