I do like the cabin I think it’s beautiful but It can definitely be cleaned up a lot more and updated but also the bathroom door and bedroom door downstairs locked on me several times… the door locks it self from both sides so they need to fix that. I really like the kitchen area though it was nice set up. The shower upstairs is super small and dirty. There’s no tv downstairs just one small tv upstairs in the master bedroom. There’s no wifi. They can definitely fix it up but other than those things it was a fun getaway.

We have stayed here in the past a couple of times. We love how big the cabin is. Loved the pool table to keep everyone entertained. Upstairs master bed was horrible, it is a box spring on top of a box spring ( so no mattress). It was definitely not comfortable and I could hardly sleep without my hips or back hurting. The white microwave above the stove was disgusting, good thing there was a spare one on the counter. The dishwasher was full of dishes still from the previous tenants and, I don't know if they were clean or dirty. Could've used more rugs on the inside next to the 3 sliding glass doors since it had snowed and all of the outside rugs were wet. Overall we had a good time playing in the snow and playing pool, but for the price you pay it really should be clean.

We loved staying here. House was clean upon arrival. Kids loved it. And the adults loved the privacy and seclusion. Absolutely beautiful.

EASY ACESS PLENTY OF ROOM
4.0 / 10.0
Loved all the big windows and the convenient location. There were some things I didn't like such as the lack of cleanliness, examples are dirty floors, counter tops, trash can, shower curtain, bath tub and dingy old blankets. Some blankets were moving blankets, good thing I brought some of my own.

The kitchen was dirty. We could see glass rings on the counter tops, dirty, floor rugs that in the bathrooms were nasty. There were yellow water rings and dog fur all over the back of the floor rugs. Ripped screen door. They had a small 2 person futon as a couch. It was so dirty that nobody wanted to sit on it. When we arrived i went to put there groceries in the fridge and realized that it was not working. The temp outside was about 88. They couldn’t send a tech out, out 300.00 worth of food went bad.
The beds were disgusting. Broken down. Looked underneath the bed after I had slept on it and was again disgusted. Carpet was filthy and the bed had 2 cement blocks and ripped duct tape holding it up. The bead was broken down in the middle. Needless to say, we all had an uncomfortable time and spent most of our time outside. Waste of money. The entire place was unacceptable

Not comfortable
Arrived at the house and check in was easy but the house is dingy and not comfortable. Only one couch and soft chair. There were brown recluse spiders everywhere even got one crawling on me in the middle of the night. Needs a good deep clean occasionally and pest control.

Papa's Mountain Dec 21
Had a great stay at this cabin. The first day there was an issue with the hot water but they quickly sent someone out to fix it. The house was very clean, The pool table was great and the gas stove was a nice touch as it was very cold up there. Would definitely stay here again.

Weekend Getaway at Shaverlake
Very close to town just a few minutes away. Also close to main road, quick and easy access. House is very nice. I do recommend to add better cookware. We struggled a lot to make breakfast as all pans did not work and our food was getting stuck on pan. Also there was not much of utensil such as knives, bowls, cups etc. Bedrooms were nice with plenty of room but beds were not comfortable at all. Overall we made everything work to have a great time. We also took walks in the "backyard" into the woods which was very relaxing. It has a huge deck but definitely needs a fire pit of some sort.

The cabin was nice. Enjoyed the pool table. Liked the openness of the front room and kitchen area.

Horrible
Dirty, beds stained not washed plyboard and bricks under better to keep up. Not comfortable. Chips in couch. Upstairs shower looks like it not sturdy. Rude person came to tell us to leave .

Mountain hideaway
This home was lovely. Although the home is right off of the main road and only a five min drive away from the shops or the marina by the lake, the tree coverage and long driveway give you a veil of privacy and seclusion that my friends and I greatly appreciated. Also the deck is perfectly spaced for a game of cornhole while outside grilling watching the sunset over the mountains. The inside of the home itself is comfy and accommodating, especially the upstairs carpeting, so soft! Needless to say my friends and I are looking forward to coming back. We come to shaver every year during the summer and this was our first stay in a cabin, now we’re thinking of coming back during the winter months as well. Thank you so much for allowing us into your lovely home!

Way too filthy!
The Cabin is flat out filthy. I cannot belieive that a business that owns this cabin would allow such a place to be borderline uninhabitable. The amount of dust everywhere in unbelievable. I purposely requested the place be cleaned after reading another reviewers comments, especially since I was bringing aninfant, and long story short, anyone walking barefoot, or baby crawling on the floor, were left with black marks and dust all over the skin. The air is so dusty and stale. There is no AC unit, only heating, but the air filter looked like it hadn't been changed in years. By the end of the 3 night stay, multiples people left with sick or suffered severee allergies. Not good, expecially if one is worried about COVID. I almost cancelled and headed home 3 hours away on the first night.
There is no bear safe place to throw trash, just a few cans outside the door with basic plastic lids. I figured they knew something about the local animals that we didn't so we emptied our trash on night 2. Sure enough, a small bear came and scattered the trash all over the dirt, but luckily I caught it in the act in the early AM and was able to run him off. We kept the stinky trash inside the home the rest of the stay. The pool table looks great on picture, but is warped pretty good. Of the approximately 10 pool cue sticks hanging on the wall, only 1 had a tip to chalk, the rest were bare to the plastic. I saw the seating in the pictures and was a little concerned, but after trying it out, I cannot stress enough, the place is not that big, and comfortable couch seating is limited. There is more but I'll leave with this, I, nor anyone of my friends or family, will be booking a place owned by this local vacation business in the future. PS. As soon as you book through VRBO, they send out there own VACASA app for you to sign up and manage your trip. I regret creating the account, becuase now they have been email spamming me with their other vacation homes.

** warning, I'm good a t complaining. **
Pleasant surprise, big and roomy, not perfect. Kids loved it.
I would stay there again.
It's isolation was a plus, Close to main road makes it easy to get to, but also you can hear the traffic. There's no quiet nights out on the deck.
Great place for kicking back, nice deck and BBQ area. Nice view of the stars at night. Not to far from town.
Surprisingly no steak knives, otherwise Kitchen is well supplied.
Washer and Dryer a plus.
Some maintenance needed, Deck needs a new coat of paint or sealer. Spider webs everywhere inside. Biggest disappointment was that they had plenty of Sliding glass doors for great views, but no screens! We couldn't leave the door open to let in the fresh air at night.

Spacious pet friendly home
It’s a beautiful home. I just wished it had a newer/cleaner couch, Since it’s the main area everyone would be more comfortable. It’s pet friendly which was a great bonus. We had a little bear visitor although it was exciting to watch as we rushed inside from the patio. Keep in mind there is 6 entrance to the home so make sure all doors closed. No screens on doors

Ants and dirty
Upon arrival we were greeted with an ant infestation in the kitchen, with trails of ants going to food crumbs scattered in the living room, under the futon, the dining table and other areas where there was spilled food or drink. We called Vacasa mgmt. that night, and Joe, the mgmt. team exterminator came out the next morning approx. 10:30. Joe was very professional, knowledgeable and courteous. We showed him the sink area, the dishwasher (ants covered the inside), and one particular drawer to the left of the sink area where someone had previously sprayed ant killer all over, including all the utensils in the drawer. Needless to say, we did not use any utensils or dishes during our stay, bought paper plates, cups and plastic utensils to use all week. Joe said he would notify mgmt. about the dead ants and ant spray in that one particular drawer. Our first 90 mins. of vacation time in this house was spent killing ants with wet paper towels, and sweeping the entire downstairs to mitigate the ant problem. The ant bait traps and spraying that Joe did helped, although on our last day of the week, there were still ants wandering around the sink area. We have been renting various houses in Shaver Lake area for over 10 years, this was the first time with Vacasa, and the last. We are extremely disappointed with the condition of the house we walked into, and the ant spray covering the one drawers utensils, was reprehensible, you could see ans smell the Raid spray residue still on the utensils! As stated above, with all the rentals we have had over the years in Shaver Lake, this was the worst.

It was ok
The house was not very clean. There were bees everywhere and our kids were stung. However, the location was nice and private. We enjoyed our time there, but definitely did our own cleaning upon arrival. The pool table was definitely nice to have.

Unfortunately, not a well maintained vacation home
We wanted to enjoy this place, and this review comes from a person who never leaves reviews, but I wish someone would have left an honest review so that we were aware. As of our stay in May 2021: All the bedding, couch, were not clean, they simply threw clean top sheets on top of dirty blankets. The kitchen lacks major cookware and utensils, basic things like wine openers are nowhere to be found, glasses chipped, not enough mugs for at least 6 people. The outside patio table was not cleaned at all, I had to wipe down a thick layer of grease off it before using it. Needs major upgrades and maintenance to qualify for a vacation home within this price range. I highly regret booking this place, I wish the management will make some changes before renting it out again.

Weekend Getaway
This cabin was an amazing weekend getaway only an hour away from Fresno. It came stocked with mostly everything you would need, the heating system kept us warm at night, the pool table kept us entertained. The best part is shavers lake isn’t to far with plenty of stores and dining areas if you want to dine out or buy food to eat in. Me and my family will definitely come back for some much needed R&R.
