The location could not have been better!! We were traveling to Erie for the 1st time with our 4 grandchildren ages 6-11 to go to Presque Isle and Waldameer Park. Everything was right there!! We did our meals at the property and there were plenty of plates, dishes, silverware and everything we needed to cook. The kitchen and dining area, while small had everything we needed to keep 4 kids happy!! One of the best parts of the property was the room on the 3rd floor with the 2 twin beds. This provided space for the big kids to get away and feel like they had room away from the little kids. We found the beds to be exceptionally comfortable.
Overall, the home, which is part of a duplex, has a very chic, comfortable retro feel. We totally enjoyed ourselves and hope to return next year.

Great little duplex home in a nice area of Erie. Exactly as described in listing. Property Manager was great at communicating throughout the process. We would definitely stay here if we ever make the trip again!

Our family stayed at Sarah’s darling cottage to visit family in Erie and we felt right at home. spacious rooms yet cozy with warm touches. Abundant new bath towels, pillows & paper products…stairs are a bit creaky but it’s an old house with beautiful original wood floors!
We’ll definitely recommend & stay again. Sarah is super communicative & kind! Thank you so much.

The house was in a prime location for everything on our to-do list! It was clean, spacious & comfortable. Our only minor complaint is the 3rd floor got hot during our stay which was in the middle of a heat wave. The manager was prompt to respond, they brought fans to help distribute the air but it was still warm & uncomfortable to sleep. The rest of the house stayed cool & comfortable.

Plenty of room. Everything we needed was there. Nice location. Responsive host.

Had to find a place to fit 4 adults and 3 kids on the fly for a funeral, this place fit the bill.
Pros:
House is clean, host is very responsive, great area of town.
Cons:
Parking is be tricky if you have a bigger vehicle (I have a truck), no washer or dryer, would have loved a keurig (they have a coffee pot).
Overall nice clean place and a good host.

My college roommates and I loved staying here for our weekend back in Erie! Great location, clean and cute spaces with lots of beds! Thanks for hosting us!

Overall the stay was good. Location was ideal and easy to get to everything. Property was clean and beds were comfortable. Stairs to the 3rd floor are a little steep and i would caution if you have small children staying with you. Owners were easy to communicate with and friendly.

Overall we had a great stay in this Duplex. Plenty of comfortable beds for our family of 5 to spread out. No real complaints but a few things I wish I better knew. This is a duplex and is old. So the stairs creek and we heard our neighbors often. The first night we thought someone was in our unit. Yikes. Second, it’s on a busy (for Erie) road. So there was a bit of constant road noise and the front of house bedroom heard it all night long.
Again, overall stay was good. Not sure what if anything can be done about those two things other than knowing before you book. We would still stay here again!

Three girlfriends stayed for an overnight shopping trip. This property was quiet, clean and comfortable. Those comfy beds got a 10+ from all of us. Not a negative thing to say. Will certainly recommend and visit again.

The house on West 8th Street was a perfect location for our 5 day trip, close to major attractions, but in a safe neighborhood for walking. Sharing 1 full bathroom for 6 adults in the duplex was handled by flexible scheduling. Be prepared- lots of steps within the 3 levels! Everyone loved the comfy beds and pillows in each of the 4 bedrooms. Nice thank you for respectful treatment of property by the hosts. Successful trip all around!

We came to Erie from across the country to drop our daughter off at college. There was plenty of room, the location was convenient to just about everything. We really appreciated the welcome book and area recommendations for dining and things to do! Avanti’s breakfast was a fantastic recommendation! Will definitely return on future visits

My girlfriends and I stayed at this property for a night away. The host was accessible by messages, the house was cute and clean, and the property itself is very nice and in a safe neighborhood. No negatives to report- we had a great time!

We loved staying here. The property was extremely clean and we loved the intentional 50’s theme. My grandson wondered how you use a dial phone! The one in the bedroom. The TVs were late and easy to use. The location was perfect. We walked to breakfast, had a short ride to the peninsula and Waldemeer and very close to the restaurants on the pier. Our host reached out to us and was available for anything we needed. Thank you Sarah for a great vacation.

8 of us were in town for a Girls Hockey Tournament & this location was central to all we needed. Sarah hosts a very clean, well maintained home, stocked with basic needs to make the stay convenient. Girls had fun watching movies upstairs on the 3rd floor bedroom like their own hangout. We ate an incredible breakfast at Avanti's ( NY style diner) just steps away from our stay. Sarah had wonderful suggestions for the area and was clear on expectations for her guests. Safe area, felt comfortable & at home! I HIGHLY recommend this host! If in Erie again - I would definitely come back!

The house offers a lot of beds, good layout too. But it is limited to 1.5 bathrooms. Before i knocked it down because the sofas had nasty stains on it - like they came out of the trash, luckily we brought blanks to throw over them. The toilet upstairs rocked like it was not anchored to the floor, no access to laundry and both toilets were small to sit on, couldnt imagine a bigger person using then. Great potential if they replace the toilets, fix the sink on the first floor, and access to laundry.

. Absolutely charming little retro chic home! Spotless. Bright & cheerful. Beds super comfortable. Corresponding with owner was effortless. Will most DEFINITELY make this our place to stay when returning to Erie. Right on road that will take you to beaches or bayside. Don't miss Press: combo coffee shop & most wonderful Indie bookstore right next to Romolo's chocolate, who could ask for more!!!

Location Location Location
This spot was perfect for our stay. The location was wonderful for our 4 kids. We had easy walks to both food and parks. Frontier was a great space and short walk for the children to release energy, and Presque Isle and Waldameer are just a short drive away.
The home was clean and provided almost everything we needed for a 10-day stay. The only thing that would have made this property even better would have been a washer/dryer. But we knew it wasn't available before heading in so we were prepared. You can't get it all in duplexes from that time, so no slight in the owners part. Just something to remember when packing 😄. We would love to visit this or another of Sarah's properties in the future. Thank you to our host.

Great Location!
We booked the property for the weekend and it perfectly suited our needs. It comfortably accommodated three couples and we could’ve easily had another couple join us. Just keep in mind there is one full bathroom and one half bath. It is a duplex home, clean, very nicely decorated with a retro theme. The rooms are just as described/pictured. We were a little nervous that there was no central air but the window air conditioners kept things comfy even in the higher temps. The location was absolutely perfect for our needs and it seemed to be centrally located. Pay attention to the parking description as there is really only room for two vehicles and no street parking. Communication with the host was great. Overall this was a great find, a great price, and we were very pleased.

Mixed Review
I found this place to be basically clean. The description lists it as “air conditioned.” It has window units which cool it down to varying degrees in the rooms where they are located, but all rooms do not have them. One bedroom upstairs has no unit, only a small table fan. The room was uncomfortable to sleep in. The rooms were all very noisy. The bedroom near the front had LOUD street noise. Even with the window air conditioning unit running, the street noise kept me from sleeping. Light sleepers may be bothered by the creaking floors and steps and the doors that stick because of the humidity. If the temperature and noise are not a problem for you, the place is fine. That being said, the worst part I found was the host. Odd, because no one else who has stayed there seemed to have an issue. I selected this property which sleeps 8 and registered the 5 of us who would be spending the night. There were never more than 8 in the unit and we never exceeded the 5 registered number for overnight guests. Meanwhile, the owner (who had my phone number in case there were any issues) says nothing to me until the day of checkout…When she sends me a scathing message about not following their house rules (of which there are many). In it, she quoted times and places where rule infractions were committed, which included a 3 hour parking violation and complaint that we had more than 5 in the unit for several hours. I am not sure if she sat with binoculars and observed us, or what…But it was creepy. Had she reached out to me, I would have addressed any issues. She was not obligated to do so, but if they were such egregious problems, why didn’t she make an effort to resolve them? All were easily remedied. I pride myself on treating other people’s property as I would my own. I make sure to leave any place we stay clean when we check out, this place was no exception. I have NEVER had any issues before. Unfortunately, the owner’s attitude made our stay in this mediocre property end up being regrettable.

Excellent stay - Not toddler friendly
The property was extremely clean. it is being loved and taken care of. Kids will love the attic with some retro items like a typewriter, an old telephone, and old piano. It is close to everything, the owner added a nice touch by compiling a list of activities and places to visit during the stay. They also have two smart TVs
For travelers with toddlers who are used to toddlers friendly rentals, this house was lacking a playpen, high chair, and Laundry( which is very critical when you need to wash cloth when you have a kid), there is two flight of stairs so bring a baby gate with you. Owners are polite, professional, and very responsive and helpful if they can, but they will not go all the way to accommodate reasonable requests ( we asked for additional towels and a playpen ). Most probably you will enjoy your stay in this rental but if you have requests make sure to ask before booking.

Great place for me and my 4 co-workers to stay while at a conference in Erie. It met our needs perfectly.

Great find in good location
Space is welcoming and comfortable. Extra effort made to create roomy, guest-friendly bedrooms. House fronts a busy street (really near coffee, chocolate, diner) but parking pad in back makes getting in and out easy. Hosts were really responsive. I'd happily book again.

Family reunion
We live in a condominium. The problem is we had several families coming for the weekend. I rented the unit and they were thrilled it was very comfortable and they enjoyed their visit to Erie. They are excited and looking forward for a return visit. The only problem is they assume it will once again be on my tab. I don't think that is going to happen. Great place

Basketball with the bros
We rented this property for our sons basketball tournament. We brought our 3 nephews along with us. The piano was a hit- the kids really took interest and YouTubed a little lesson! Played the longest game of war ever and got cute pictures on the accent wall in the living room.

Holiday Break Getaway
The property was comfortable, clean, spacious, and well equipped; exactly as described in the listing. We used the Convenience Package and we were so grateful that our groceries were already in the fridge when we arrived. Sarah was communicative throughout our stay and answered questions. It was so easy to check in and out. Our child cried when it was time to leave because we had so much fun! I’m confident that we will stay here again and we will recommend the property to others.
