Grandioses Erlebnis
Alles war super (außer der kalten Füße) - waren mit drei Kindern zum zweiten Mal hier

Very friendly staff. Liked warning up in the sauna. Well-located for the lake and river. Cute reindeer. Good dinner in the restaurant.
Rough around the edges. Very pricey for what you get. A little tricky to get to.

Het personeel was heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam en de sauna was elke avond geweldig.
Één wc spoelde niet goed, gelukkig zorgden ze voor een noodtoilet.

Sandra and Filip here, still smitten with the Reindeer Lodge after our magical stay! We originally planned to stay just one night, but let's just say, two nights later, and only pre-booked trips elsewhere dragged us away! (If we could, we would probably still be there now!).
From the warm welcome at reception to the moment we spotted reindeer frolicking right outside our window (yes, Reindeer!), this place had us hooked. The staff? Superstars! Every single one was friendly, helpful, and so knowledgeable about Sami culture. We wanted to shout out each name, but seriously, everyone deserves a standing ovation!
The two rooms we tried, the Superior Chalet and the Chalet, were both gems in their own right. Charm oozed from every corner, making it hard to pick a favourite. Breakfast in the cozy reception, complete with a crackling fireplace and followed by reindeer feeding, were a highlight. Then came dinner... wow! We ended up eating at the Sami Museum (part of the Lodge) every single night, even when we ventured to other hotels! The included dinners were a delicious bonus, and the food (major props to the chefs!) was simply phenomenal. Add to that the warm atmosphere, crackling fire, and -20 degrees outside? Pure bliss!
And did we mention we loved that the Lodge is Sami-owned and (largely) staffed? Learning about their rich culture was fascinating and eye-opening, once again thanks to the friendly staff.
Reindeer Lodge, you stole our hearts! Thank you from the bottom of our mugs (filled with Sami hot chocolate, of course!). We'll be back, you can count on it!
Unfortunately, we didn't rent a car. Although the staff were always kind enough to drop us to the Sami museum/restaurant, the place is quite remote, and the taxis are expensive, so if you plan on moving between Jukkasjarvi and Kiruna, it is a good idea to come by car if you can!

We returned to the Reindeer Lodge seeking more magic, and boy, did we find it! Swapping the Superior Chalet for the Chalet (simply to experience both options, and both turned out to be just as good!), we enjoyed crackling fireplaces, reindeer sightings galore, and those incredible dinners (still dreaming of that salmon!).
The staff continued to impress with their warmth and cultural knowledge. And the shower building? It wasn't just a washroom – it housed a heavenly sauna, the perfect post-exploration treat. Two stays might not have been enough, but they were undeniably perfect. Unfortunately, we may be short on interior photos because we were too busy soaking in the charm, which, trust us, photos simply can't capture.
We would definitely recommend the Reindeer excursion for a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
Until next time, Reindeer Lodge!

Firstly - if you can't live without Wifi, then you'd be best just to stay at home - this is not what Reindeer Lodge is about.
If you're after 5 star accommodation, then find somewhere else because staff are not here to be at your personal beck and call.
Staff at Reindeer Lodge are amazing - we always felt welcome and part of the family. Our room, although small, was very cosy and clean. To keep the park an authentic experience, there are 2 communal (very clean) toilets, as well as a communal shower and wood fired sauna.
When leaving, you are asked to strip your beds fold your bedding and put your bedding and pillows on the lounge to make room turnover quicker for staff. As well as looking after the rooms, staff are also responsible for looking after the reindeer, preparing meals for guests and working at the Saami / Reindeer village at Jukkasjarvi. Staff work long hours and very hard.
Breakfast was a really nice Scandinavian style Smorgas, it was great to be able to go in and feed and interact with the reindeer - let them come to you...
You can also borrow some cross country skis or snow shoes to go for a walk on the lake.
Reindeer Lodge is about a 5-10 minute drive from Jukkasjarvi and a good alternative to the Icehotel.
We recommend staying at Reindeer Lodge.

Wonderful for people who loves to be in nature. Lake near camping, cabins among the trees, owners have some raindeers. Perfect breakfest with local smoked fish, local meat in a very cozy cabin.

Very quaint, clean and quiet in the summer. I’m sure must be very beautiful in the winter. The stay in summer includes a free entry to the reindeer and Sami village which was fun for our children.
The outdoor toilet and shower facilities are clean and not too much of a bother, especially since weather was mild
Lovely staff , and great breakfast in the morning
We booked one tent and one cottage. The tent was difficult to sleep in, since it had an opaque top where light flooded in at night

Staying at the lodge is the best decision we made! We stayed in a lavvu tent and ours was beside the reindeer enclosure so we see them all the time which is the reason why we chose the lodge in the first place. The 10am reindeer feeding was our highlight aside from the delicious dinner and breakfast! Definitely recommended and I will stay here again, given the chance. Our tent was also an experience in itself, the reindeer skins, the twigs and the fire we have to keep going the whole night! We also saw the northern lights during our stay! Lastly, the staff was really accommodating with all the changes I did and they are really nice and friendly.

The location is fantastic. It is a neat combination of almost camping in the woods, modern amenities, rugged fireplace lifestyle and quaint family owned business. It is nothing like the bleed them dry destination hotel approach. A bit out of the way, but worth it in the evening. The reindeer are a nice experience, breakfast was up to standard, and a welcome meal is also a nice touch. Visited during winter.
Would definitely stay again, would be even better if you had your own car.
The welcome meal was OK. The bookable activities didn't line up with the transfer times, so you could not book a transfer and have an experience. Not so bad if you are staying a few days, but we were short timers.

A really nice place in the near of Jukkasjärvi.
The huts are comfortable and really big. The big hut with the kitchen and a small lounge is also very comfortable.
If you plan a stay there, please also use the lounge at the reception! A well warmed Sami tent, cool drinks and the breakfast is waiting there for you.
It is also the starting point for feeding the raindeer :)
Everthing is perfect!

Good location for some aurora hunting, friendly staff, cozy and warm chalet, warmed toilet and showers, good breakfast, loved the reindeer meat. No WiFi but good cellphone reception.
The public transportation was bad to and from there, alot of walking when packed heavy is exhausting. There was no water in the chalet so you had to go out every time. The shared kitchen was sometimes locked by other guests so you had to wait untill they were done. The showers were shared too with no means of privacy but luckily they never were being used when I went there

Very clean and warm inside, breakfast included.Although it remote area but we can see northern lights all night long plus feeding reindeer in Sami museum. What a great experience!
Shower and toilet are separately from our room and no faucet in the bedroom which is quite inconvenient especially in the cold weather.

Beautiful serene location
Great facilities and breakfast
Really welcoming staff and dog
Remote so would be more difficult to stay at without a car, no restaurants nearby (we went to Kiruna) so more suited to those wishing to cook
