Apartment 1, on the first floor, is wheelchair accessible and incredibly inviting. With two bedrooms and two baths, it can sleep up to 6. The master bedroom features a memory foam king mattress and has a large, walk-in closet and a private ensuite bathroom with a tub. The second bedroom has accessible, built-in full-over-queen bunk beds, perfect for guests of any age. The second bath was designed with accessibility in mind -- a curbless shower with a spacious tile bench make this bathroom easy for anyone to use.
Looking to cook while you are with us? You'll love the new, eat-in kitchen with top-of-the-line black stainless appliances. Well stocked with all of the pots and pans you might need. The custom-made dining table has seating for 8, and it's on casters for easy moving. Step through the original pocket doors into the adjacent living room, which invites you and your guests to relax around the original fireplace (no fires, please). Play a CD or record from our hand-picked selection, or enjoy your favorite movie or TV show on the smart TV, with Hulu, Netflix, and Disney+ included.
Step outside and the real fun begins. The beautifully restored front porch offers plenty of space to lounge and gather. Draw the curtains for additional privacy, or to shade yourself from the afternoon sun, and spread out on the spacious sectional. Follow the lighted path to the back of the house, and you will find the most amazing backyard in the neighborhood -- custom designed and accessible, the backyard offers hammocks, outdoor lounge areas, and a Weber propane grill. Perfect for entertaining or relaxing!
We try to make all of our spaces inviting homes away from home, so we strive to provide all of the comforts you might need to make your stay enjoyable. We take pride in the comfort of our beds and bedding, offering memory foam mattresses and breathable sheets that are soft, eco-friendly, and hypoallergenic. We also stock the apartments with organic, paraben- and cruelty-free shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and body wash. Finally, to make your travel a little easier, all of our kitchens are stocked with locally-roasted whole bean coffee, grinders, kettles, and french presses, as well as an assortment of caffeinated and decaf teas.

Charles on 11th is in the historic Southside neighborhood, known for its diversity, vibrancy, historic charm, and proximity to downtown. We love the location of this house! Just down the block from Southside Market, which has all of your basic grocery needs (and a great selection of local beer), and a few blocks from UAB, Saws BBQ, the Alys Stephens Center, and Dreamland BBQ. Interested in historic architecture? A block away you'll find Glen Iris Park, Birmingham's first planned community, with a mix of homes of various styles, and a beautiful walking trail through it all. Traveling with pets or kids? Head to George Ward Park, our favorite park in Birmingham, with two separate dog parks, an assortment of sporting fields and tennis courts, a planned frisbee golf course, and plenty of paths and shade.
Getting Around:
Charles on 11th is just a couple of miles from most of Birmingham's most popular attractions: Railroad Park, the Zoo and Botanical Gardens, Avondale, Sloss Furnace, the Art Museum, Regions Field, Vulcan Park, and Downtown's Entertainment and Civil Rights Districts. This apartment was the most well stocked we've stayed in. From the kitchen to the bathrooms there were extras everywhere! The kitchen had plenty of utensils, dinnerware and cookware to feed a big crowd. The bathrooms had lots of towels and in addition to the basics like soap and shampoo there were lots of others, including lotion, face products, and even extra toothbrushes.
The apartment itself was well located and decorated beautifully! There was plenty of room to sit in the living room and at the kitchen table. There was even a stereo system with an extensive collection of lps and cds. Both porches were great as well. We definitely recommend this place!

Excellent location in a quaint neighbor hood! This apartment has all of the amenities that you could need. Great mattress and pillows, which are very important to me!!! Huge front porch, perfect for relaxing with a cocktail or a good book. I am pretty picky about where I choose to stay, and I would definitely stay here again!

Home Away from Home
This property was excellent! It is a 2 BR / 2 bath apartment in a beautifully restored Craftsman home located in the eclectic Southside neighborhood of Birmingham. I was able to bring my 2 dogs instead of boarding them, and that is always a bonus! If anyone is ever looking for somewhere to stay in Bham, I will always recommend this place. I look forward to staying here again!

FABULOUS!!!!
This home is beautifully updated! It had everything we needed and MORE! Our hostess had local coffee beans and a french press *swoon*! She even had teas, honey packs & oatmeal available. The bed was very comfy and I so very much enjoyed a soak in the primary bathroom tub. The neighborhood is transitioning as many of the large regal homes look as they are already renovated or in the process. We did not have an opportunity to enjoy the gorgeous porch as we arrived about 40 minutes before a torrential down pour! OHHH, and the laundry facilities are the things dreams are made of!!!
Thank you so much for an amazing stay & if we find ourselves in Birmingham again we will no doubt stay here again!!!

Great Location
Making reservations and check in was easy. The property is an older house that has been converted into apartments with modern fixtures. About the only issue we had during our stay was that it was pretty cold out during our stay and the apartment was drafty. Even though we were wearing swear shirts, we had to set the thermostat at 85 just to keep the apartment at a somewhat comfortable temperature. This place would be decent if some insulation was added.
