Not a lot. Bathroom was ok
Everything apart from the bathroom!

There was a warm welcome from the bar lady that showed us to our room. As the accommodation is above the bar it was very easy to just go downstairs for an evening drink before eating in the restaurant next door. Lots of tea and coffee sachets supplied and more availablein the hallway.
Although there are 2 pillows per person they are very flat so barely the thickness of even one pillow each. No pillow protectors either so not hygienic. No double glazing so lots of noise from the road during the day but it was fine during the night when the traffic eased. We had the on suite room and the shower tray filled with water even with a quick shower. No hair dryer available.

Food at the steakhouse was great and so were the waiters
‘Private bathroom’ is down the hall without prior warning.
Loud music was played till 11:30.
No soap at the sink in the bedroom.
Single bed in the family room was very uncomfortable as could feel the mesh of the mattress.

- The staff were really friendly.
- The food at the restaurant was superb.
- The bathroom for the family room was well equipped and spacious.
- Plenty of tea, coffee, milk etc for the room.
- The location of the hotel is great if you have your own car.
- The family room does not have an en-suite which is inconvenient for a family with small children.
- There is an extraction fan outside the window that was quite loud when starting up unfortunately.
- On arrival there was an unpleasant smell in the room which disappeared after a day or 2.

The staff and food were amazing
The accommodation is very outdated. The door to our room had been kicked in at some point and repaired using lots of screws so it didn’t look very good but it was secure.
1.5
- The friendly welcome
- The room was clean
- The price in comparison to other accommodation nearby
- The decor was very dated and tired
- The 'private' bathroom was actually down the corridor
- The room was exceptionally hot
- There was a loud extractor fan right outside the window meaning we couldn't open the small window
- There was carpet in the toilet

Good location. Liked the idea of a nice steak meal!
No en-suite, private bathroom was a toilet at the end of the open corridor.
Extractor fan outside bedroom window, very loud.
Was advertised as dog friendly, Our dog was attacked by a customers dog as we tried to enter the pub so didn’t get to try the beer or food!

location was great for our purpose
it’s cheap and cheerful I think we paid 35 so I guess it met expectations in that respect. Not slept in a standard double for years and this felt tiny, room was pretty dusty and needed a deep clean not a surface wipe, shower was not powerful. lots of noise from other rooms and road noise as windows were not insulated I’d imagine but can’t be 100% sure. the manager was lovely. there is nothing with this place and it was 35 so I’m not going to slate it.
if you need a place to crash to save driving home after one too many then perfect 👍👍
