About this house rental
The ideal home for a family trip to San Diego! Enjoy a BBQ on the huge back deck, relax on the rooftop watching the sunset over the ocean and end the evening sitting next to the fire on the patio. Start the day with coffee on the secluded balcony amongst the bougainvillea and breakfast under the massive Redwood Tree! Then bike/walk to the shops, restaurants or beaches Ocean Beach has to offer. Nestled in a quiet neighborhood, this one of a kind home promises to make your stay unforgettable.
The space
This home is truly one of a kind!
It has one of the only Redwood Tree's in San Diego; a massive backyard deck with tons of seating and a gas fire pit; two mid-level balconies that provide the perfect place to enjoy the unique mix of tree's this property has to offer; and a giant rooftop deck with views of the ocean and mission bay; it also has a oversized private outdoor shower.
The property is situated in a quiet, family-friendly neighborhood of Ocean Beach. It is very centrally located and no more than a 15 minute drive to any attraction (and the airport) you might want to visit during your stay.
Additionally, our home is walkable or bike-able to the hustle & bustle of Ocean Beach. There is a great local co-op grocery store 3 blocks away and few corner stores even closer.

This property is in need of repair, we found doors, windows, fixtures that don’t work. It may have been cleaned by a cleaning service but it was not clean. I will not use this property again.

We enjoyed the unit, but bushes at the front door needs to be cut down. And we saw lots of spiders crawling around. But the unit was a perfect fit for my family and it was nicely decorated.

First I want to start off with a positive. Conner was quick on replies on my questions, and I appreciated that. The house was clean and very cute, It's in a very close proximity residential area but what do you expect in S.D. Very close to Sea World and air prot which is what we were there for. Nice size beds and most would say comfortable but I have a bad back and the hard memory form just doesn't cut for me. But that's my problem. Now the issues I had was the lack of informative information on the site and this caused some issues. There is two living rooms (persay) one down stairs and one up stairs. The one down only has a small sofa and two small chairs so it you have 6 to 8 people they can't sit comfortbly with everyone to watch TV or whatever. Yes there are bar stools (metal) which is quite uncomfortable, most of us are over 60 years olds so sitting on something like that for long periods of time is a no-no. Then the TV downstairs is not very good and it kept freezing up or turn off. Anyone disabled or can't climb stairs can't visit with family upstairs. Shower is upstairs so again disabled or aged adults have a hard time. Hot water went out on our last night so couldn't take a shower, Dishwasher isn't bolted down and falls out when you pull rack out. Parking is hard to find sometimes. It is all street parking. No extra supplies is provided in the home such as tin foil, serrand wrap and etc. Most homes leave things like this that past guest leave.

Nice location for a weekend stay. They had everything we needed to cook a few meals, well equipped.
We loved the outdoor space, nice for a bbq. Very comfortable for watching TV.
Only thing missing was some board games. It is the perfect place to play games.

The neighborhood was peaceful, nice neighborhood, house as described. Short drive to all San Diego destinations. Hot water in upstairs shower would be a plus, only steam. Contact with host was excellent. Check in easy. Would stay again…thanks for a great stay

Overall the property was nice. You are close to the airport, so be prepared to hear airplanes taking off starting at 6:30 am- 10:00 pm (no othere reviews talked about the planes). The property listing states two full baths, but the lower bath has an outdoor shower, so weather pending it might not be useable. The lower level is a little cooler and heat circulation is mediocre.
The overall location of the property was great, close to the Zoo, Seaworld, and some great restaurants.

Check-in and check-out process:
1) Connor was on top of it, and sent us the check-in instructions a few days before our actual reservation.
2) Check-out steps were also really easy. Appreciate that we could just pack our bags and go.
Actual check-in situation:
1) Yale key code didn't work, so we had to use the physical key to get in and out. This was kind of a hassle given that we were a couple of friends who all had different schedules. So coming in and out needed a bit of coordination. I let Connor know of this situation via email, but I didn't get a response on how this was going to be resolved.
2) Check-in was 4pm- kind of late. Would be nice if it could be an hour sooner, regardless if there was a party ahead of us. One of our parties went a bit earlier, and was able to drop off their stuff in one of the rooms. That was nice.
Location and Neighborhood:
1) Location was ideal because we were so close to the Barnes Tennis Center, which was the primary reason why we were in town.
2) Parking was tough - no specific spots, luckily we only had 1 car. Or else it would have been tough to get in and out.
Cleanliness of property:
1) It seemed like only half of the home was cleaned when we arrived. Two of the bedroom downstairs were not clean at all. The beds had brown spots, one even had blood stains, and the pillows had a lot of little black dots. I was extremely unhappy about this, so we emailed Connor right away and he offered to have cleaners come in in the morning, or we could get a refund. Luckily the sheets were replaced the following morning.
Accuracy of online listing:
1) I was a bit misled with the outdoor shower. I didn't realize it was going to be 1/2 showers posted. So, you're telling me 4 bedrooms need to share 1 real indoor shower?? So, beware of that. It definitely was inconvenient.
2) The space is good for working, and the open space is nice for small gathering.
Others:
1) One of the bedroom upstairs had an incredibly small and short bed. It almost looked like a couch. Would advise that management switches out this bed to something bigger? Doesn't seem right for adults, and even kids.
2) The downstairs bedroom - the bed frame was shaking, and made sleeping uncomfortable.
3) I've lived in lots of shared spaces over the years, and usually most of them have a nice touch like coffee and tea. This place was completely bare.
Thank you Connor for hosting us in your home. I may look for a different spot next time, though.

Clean and spacious home with rooftop deck
Perfect for our family of five. Clean with some nice amenities. Loved the outdoor shower, rooftop deck, as well as the back deck. Even a record player with some classic vinyl to enjoy during our stay. Short walk to the beach, downtown OB, and coffee stands and markets. Very short drive to Sea World, Old Town, and everything San Diego has to offer. Host was friendly and responsive. Would stay again!

Fantastic Property!
Our party of six adults really enjoyed our stay in this amazing property. The home was very clean upon our arrival and Conner was a great host. He was super easy to communicate with, prompt responses and very accommodating!
The home has an enormous deck off the back as well as a roof top deck with great views. There was plenty of room for six adults as there is actually two living rooms, one up and one downstairs.
We found the location to be convenient and actually walked everywhere.
Overall I would recommend this rental and Connor was a fantastic host.

Stafford Lombard

Ocean Beach home
Very clean. Less than a mile walk to restaurants, OB shopping and the beach. Backyard deck is very nice, spacious. Seating for ~12. The owner is clear about quiet hours and neighbors making sure they are observed. We appreciated the neighborhood being quiet. Be aware the house is in a flight path. Planes start about 6:30a.m. We heard them but not a deal breaker. We really enjoyed our stay.

Great Time
The owners of this location were easy to work with. The house was great for both adults and kiddos. The fireworks from SeaWorld were the favorite amongst the kids. The one things that wasn’t mentioned (but the owners were very responsive when we reached out) was they also rent out a part of their property to other families.

Perfect Vacation House
While the adults were impressed, the children summed it up best. They wanted our vacation home to be our new home. A perfect location and amazing outdoor amenities.
Between the two family room spaces, it was perfect for our family of 6 (mother in law included). Many people have mentioned how close it is to everything and they are right. Amazingly close to the beach and to the highways to get to anywhere In San Diego in a short amount of time.
Only real thing to mention is that the rooms don’t really have space for luggage, but it was never a real concern. Kitchen was well stocked with what you would expect and parking was never a problem.
Neighborhood is great. Ocean beach was perfect for the whole family and we were able to find parking even when it looked to be full. Chris’s liquor and deli is a must visit for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and is a short walk from the house. Blue water in downtown ocean beach is amazing.
If we ever return to San Diego, we will definitely look to stay here again.
